In August of 2002, I made what thus far has turned out to be one of the most empowering phone calls of my adult life. After suffering for years with weight problems, and trying pretty much every diet out there, including some that bordered on something you'd see in a scifi show, I called Provida and purchase Michael Thurmond's, Six Week Body Make Over Program.

The results were just awesome! 7 pounds the first week, 11 pounds the second. In approximately 8 months, I lost 115 pounds, hitting a goal weight of 190 pounds. To say that I was happy with the program and with myself would be an understatement. I was that person that I know was always there, and as a result of my weight loss, I felt better than I had, both physically and emotionally for years.

When one treats their body right, it treats them right. When you feel good about yourself, the world can tell. Good things started to happen to me, culminating in an opportunity to take a trip to LA for the currently running 6WBMO Infomercial, and even got to meet Michael Thurmond, and a wonderful group of people, from many walks of life, all with very similar stories to mine. To this day, I truly consider them my friends and try to stay in contact with them when I can.

After hitting my original goal, of becoming sub-200lbs., I went on the Living Lean part of the 6WBMO. There are 3 different options of Living Lean, and I opted for what's referred to by many of us as the "Crazy Day" option. On this one, we just eat off program for one day, and stay on program for the rest of the week, but adjust portions up, and just keep an eye on the effects.

I'm no angel, and I do stray from time to time, as life does still happen, and sometimes, we can't follow the program. But, I always fall back on the tenets of the 6WBMO. I go up and down a bit, but I am now the one in control. Not the food, not the weight, ME. Weight control for most people is a life time commitment and takes work. The 6WBMO is the best tool in my nutritional "toolkit". I can count on it when I get to far out of line to bring me back quickly and safely to where I want and need to be.

What better time for a member of the "Old Guard" like me to recommit myself to one of those all powerful New Years Resolutions. It's time for even a "Big Loser" like me to buckle down and pay attention. So, I invite many of my old friends here on the 6WBMO, and you folks new to the program to join me and make 2005 the year that we all take control of our bodies, and perhaps, Makeover America (one person at a time)!

Well Mr. Dan today is your day!!! I hope to see you get to your goal and beyond.

I strayed and I went backwards in my avatars, I'm POP again and it feels great to get the energy back I soooo missed. Now I'm in control again.

    Dan,

I'm new to the program and I would like to say that the reason I bought the system is that I was enspired by the success stories of ALL the participants of the infomertial.
I'm glad to see a seasoned veteran of the program can commit to continued success.

    Thanks,
    Cherry

Jean - today is all of our day! We're all starting over fresh. If we were fortunate enough to be successful, even starting over today, we can't take away or past accomplisments. If, we were unsuccessful thus far, well, like I said, we're starting fresh, so...no harm, no foul!

Cherry - well, being that this program really is a life style change. So, these forums become a way of life too. Besides, the folks around here kinda grow on you .

    Good luck in 2005.

Dan--Absolutely incredible job! You are a major success story. I've watched you ever since I first came on the boards and I am inspired by your success with the program and your success with living lean. I've always found you to be a star and I'm so glad that Provida is showing you off as well. Thanks for being an inspiration to so many of us.

    Hey "lil' brudda",

It's about time that I saw your mug gracing the boards as our Success Story of the Month!

You've been a wonderful inspiration to many, especially the men who come to the forums and are nearly overwhelmed by the number of women here.

It's been a pleasure to watch you progress, as you cheer on and motivate others.

I'm still hoping that one day our paths will cross and I can give you hugs in person.

Keep up the excellent work. Here's to many good things for us all in 2005.

    Hey, hey!!

Eden - well thank you very much, but I see that I've got some competition right on my heels. YOU've done and outstanding job as well. I really don't think that people can comprehend what it is to do what you and I (and many other 6WBMO'ers!!) have done. Losing lot's of weight, is only part of our story. Kudos to you!!!

Rikki (how's married life treating you ? ) Well, there are many motivators and helpers here, and I'm certainly happy to join YOU and many others in that role. This is a tough thing that we are doing, and we can all use the help and encouragement. I know you've helped me through a few rough spots too! I as well, would like to hook up with you some day, if perhaps the Provida gods are kind...

Dolores - well, I've said it many times before, but you are the rock that keeps this whole thing together. You're a mentor, a teacher, and someone I do consider a friend! You know that I'll be here for you, as I know you're here for everyone else. Anything that I can do to help the cause of helping people shed the pounds, and all the emotional baggage that comes with it is MY PLEASURE.

Sue - "Coverboy"?? Boy..that's a new one. Next I'll be on a calander somewhere !! Thanks!!

Lauren - well, folks don't realize what kind words from people like you do for people like me. I've always been a kind of shy guy. But sharing my story, as many others have, seems to be something that really connects with folks. When someone comes along, and says that I'm one of the reasons for their success, well, I just cannot tell you how that makes me feel. We'll have to try that CT get together again, perhaps this summer!!

Tray - thank you as well!! I've followed your progress and always been amazed at how well you are doing. I also envy your proximity to the folks in LA, and some certain Personal Trainers that I know !!

    Hey Danno,
Congrats on being the pin up boy once again. As you know LL is lots of trial and error( I think it has something to do with a "fat" brain. You are a great inspiration to me... being a long timer and still plugging away you give me strength when I am waivering. I am starting anew for 2005. I will get these 20 pounds off that keep coming back at me and learn how to make it only a five pound range...
Thanks for being you and helping sooo many...love ya boy!!!

Dan - well, I don't want to get teary [oops too late], but you know how I feel. You have been my biggest inspiration from day 1 - no pun intended. Something about you and your story spoke to me deep inside and made me understand that you made it and I could too. I owe you so much for that simple knowledge. Today everything about me is different - my step is lighter, my outlook more positive, my confidence has returned and I've even had a couple of dates [woo hoo!]. I owe it all to you, your story, MT and 6WBMO. Thank you, deeply and sincerely.

Dan you inspired me when I first started this program, although I didn't tell you then. And now you inspire me as both a friend and mentor. Your success, continued perservance and willingness to motivate others has been such an important asset to our "losing" community. You truly belong in the spotlight.

    Hi Dan,

Congratulations on being the January flavor of the month.

You are truly an inspiration, not just for your incredible weight loss and your ability to maintain, but also for the support you give to each and every one of us, daily on the boards. Thank you so much for your continued presence.

All the best to you in this new year.

    Take care,

I forgot how hard this can get .

Annie - well, there's been some nice things said about me, but it's always been those that came before that helped the current generation of "losers" and you've always been there for me. I know that LL is work, and sometimes we work good, and others we work bad. I too have been on that "bad" side for a bit. You were my deciding factor when I first saw the program, and I'm only sorry that we didn't get to meet, either in LA or, closer to home here. I guess we'll have to try again!

Pam - I do remember when you started. I thought after about a week, we weren't going to see you any more! I'm really happy to see that you stuck it out, and if I had ANYTHING to do with that, well, that's what these forums are all about. Everybody needs a hand up from time to time. I'm proud to have had something to do with your weight loss. So, just don't let me catch you going the other way .

Sheri - very nice words again, thanks! You guys are getting me all emotional!!!

Therese - I'm always more that willing and able to lend a "hand". I'm glad to see you're still around. Don't fret the gain. You now know how to take care of that (thank you 6WBMO!).
