This program is the best thing that's ever happened to me.  I've tried numerous "weight loss" programs, Weight Watchers (lost 1/10th of a pound per week), Atkins (lost 35 pounds the first 3 months and then maintained for a year), Nutrisystem (gained 2 pounds per week), I even tried a few if the "quick" fixes...fen-phen and ultra lipolean to name a couple...only to gain the weight back and then some.  Then I saw this info-mercial.  The first time I saw it I was intrigued, then I thought…it won’t work, nothing ever does…I was meant to be fat…it’s genetic.  Then I saw it again…and again…and yes…again…after the 4th time, I told my husband that I was going to order it.  His reply was why…nothing ever works, why do you think this will…stop wasting money on these weight loss programs.  Well…I saw it a 5th time and watched each time with amazement, wondering if it really worked…then when I saw it the 6th time, it was early in the morning and I went to turn on the news before work and there it was…I yelled up to my husband, told him it was an omen and I was ordering it…besides…it had a 6 week money back guarantee and when it didn't work, I’d just return it after the 6 weeks was over.  When I asked the gentleman over the phone if the plan really worked, his response was “if you follow it”.  And…boy was he right!!! I started at 198.4 pounds and at 5' 1" that was a lot of weight to be carrying.  After the first 6 weeks I lost 25 pounds…this was great…nothing had ever worked like this before…each week when I stepped on the scale another 2 to 3 pounds was gone!  At Christmas time…I was at the gym and stepped on the scale and happened to lose 5 pounds that week…I got off the scale and back on 2 or three times when one of the personal trainers came over and said “what did you gain weight?”…when I replied…no…I lost 5 pounds this week…she looked at me and backed off!!!  To my amazement, as long as I followed the program, the weight “melted” off of me.  Within 6 months I had my weight off…all 68 pounds of it…I went from barely being able to button my size 16’s…to sliding on my size 4’s with much ease!  I lost 68 pounds and haven’t felt this good since I was a teenager!!!   Besides losing the weight, I was taken off of my blood pressure medicine, which I had been on for 20 years and my cholesterol dropped from 298 to 218 with my triglycerides dropping from 195 to 85!  My HDL has gone up to 59 and my LDL down to 146… I just returned from a 2 ½ week cruise to Europe, ate what I wanted, and completely enjoyed myself…yes...food and all…I put on 6 pounds, but after 2 weeks, 4 of the 6 have disappeared again!  Another week and I’ll be back to my new self once again! I’m still amazed every day how easy it was to lose the weight with Michael Thurmond’s 6-Week Body Makeover…it has definitely given me my life back…and, the best part is, I KNOW, for the first time in my life, I’LL BE ABLE TO KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF FOR LIFE!   Thank you Michael Thurmond and all of your staff…you are all wonderful!   (Edited by sls at 8:36 pm on Aug. 20, 2002)

sls, How fabulous!   Thank you so much for writing such an inspirational post.   I have been very sullen because I haven't been able to get myself to work this diet (not that the diet didn't work for me).  Hearing your positive words really warms my heart and makes me smile and I see what positive results can be achieved. Please keep inspiring us with your story of success!

I am confused.  Is there a difference between the six week make-over and the SMART technique?

Sls,  ''' FÉLICITATIONS'''!!!!  This is great .  Your success has inspired me to keep on going. I started the program on July 15 and lost 10 pounds.  But my 2 wks holidays has made its way with some damages, so I'm back on track. After reading your success, I know I can do it also!!!  I have at least 40 pounds to lose, maybe more that would be perfect. Thank you for your post!!!!! it will help a lot of people like me. thanks again and I wish you well for the rest of your life!!!

CONGRATULATIONS SLS ON BEING SEPTEMBER'S "QUOTE OF THE MONTH"...INCREDIBLE STORY OF SUCCESS.  I APPLAUD YOUR BELIEF IN YOURSELF DESPITE ALL OF THOSE DISAPPOINTMENTS YOU EXPERIENCED AS WELL AS BEING EXPOSED SIX TIMES BEFORE YOU ACTED.  SOME MAY THINK THAT IS AN OXYMORONIC STATEMENT, BUT IT'S A TESTAMENT TO YOU HOLDING ON TO YOUR HOPE, YOUR DREAM, AND YOUR BELIEF THAT YOUR CONDITION WAS NOT GENETIC OR IMPOSSIBLE TO CHANGE.  I DO BEHAVIOR-CHANGE TRAINING FOR A LIVING AND IT'S A PROVEN PRINCIPLE THAT THE AVERAGE PERSON HAS TO BE EXPOSED TO A NEW IDEA AT LEAST SIX TIMES BEFORE IT STICKS AND THE RETENTION FACTOR IS IN PLACE. IN YOUR CASE, YOUR BRAIN WAS PLAYING MT'S RECORD OVER AND OVER EACH TIME YOU SAW IT, FURTHER REINFORCING YOUR OWN BELIEF THAT IT WOULD WORK AND YOU REFUSED TO LET YOUR YOUR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCESS ROB YOU OF IT.  CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN.  YOU LOOK GREAT AND I KNOW THAT YOU FEEL GREAT.  I'LL SEE YOU IN L.A. IF YOU'RE GOING THERE LATER IN THE MONTH. SIR MARK

SLS~ CONGRATULATIONS on making it to your goal:) It takes a lot of focus and commitment to yourself to make it happen, by going on vacation and eating want you wanted and then getting right back on plan, you have proven to yourself that you will indeed be able to keep it off for life. You look fabulous, well done:) Sharon.

You have a way with words that gets right to the heart of the situation.  My beginning is similar to yours, now when I  take off the 16 to 26 more lbs and I will be in the same boat.  What a great shipmate to have.... Thanks for your sharing
