I've lost 100 pounds in just eight
months by following the Michael Thurmond Six Week Body Makeover program, and it feels great! That's a difference of over twelve inches in the waist of my trousers!
As long as I can remember I had considered myself a heavy guy. No that's not right, I considered myself an obese guy but I tried to deny that fact. I knew in my heart that I wanted to be different. I knew about the health risks. I knew that it had a negative influence on many parts of my life. What I didn't know was how to break the cycle. I had tried so many diets, even as a child. Sometimes I would lose weight for a while, but I'd always reach a long drawn out plateau, well before my goal weight, and get discouraged. Eventually the weight would all come back and I'd wind up even heavier than when I had started. Now; however, I consider myself a fit guy breaking out of the cocoon of fat that has been around me for so many years. How did this happen? I learned to visualize what I could do with my body and I have been given the tools through the program. It works and I feel great!
When I first heard about this program it immediately struck me as being based on sound principles and without the excessive deprivation of other diets I had followed. The advertising intrigued me so I went to the web site and checked it out. The explanations would have sold me, but it was the real people with real testimonials that gave me the most hope that this was the one. This was the program that would be tailored to work for me. There are some disciplines involved but they are so easy to follow considering the rewards. Of course there are some foods I'm not eating now, but I eat so much good food and so often that I don't have cravings. I go for walks more than I used to, but it doesn't send me to the couch afterwards. I actually do toning resistance exercises and I'm eager to do them again. Can you imagine the thrill of seeing muscles poking out in places that had always been rounded over for all your life?
I started this to improve my health and found that it has improved my whole life! Gone is the despair of knowing that I was imprisoned in a fat body without knowing how to escape. Gone are the negative body image thoughts throughout every day. Gone are the many compromises I had to constantly make. In place of all those negative thoughts and emotions, now I have control, satisfaction, knowledge, and a plan for life. I could never have imagined following any of the deprivation diets for life; they were always a temporary thing that didn't leave promise for the elusive afterwards. With this program I have learned so much about how my metabolism works, that I can easily see myself applying these principles and Living Lean for the rest of my life.

Maj, I can relate to other people's stories being my own. That was one of the attractive things about this program and about these forums. It changes the dream of fitness to faith in fitness.
Goofytoes, I'm glad that my success helps to inspire you. And yes, you were right about that infomercial thing, my before and after pictures should be in the new one.
Annie, you were the one at the beginning of my program that really inspired me. What more can I say to thank you? I look forward to joining you at the finish line.
Shelita, thanks--and it really is easy isn't it? Thumbs up on your success too!
Dolores, you have given me such sound advice--probably more than I can realize. Many is the time that I've looked for the answer to a question and the answer inevitably winds up with one of your posts. I look forward to meeting you some time. Any I really am proud to be a member of the Blueberry platoon, but I'm more proud to be a MT6WBMO success.
Lisa, yes, we're all works in progress. My family is very proud. I'm going to go to some family events this year and many of my far flung clan haven't seen me in person since my "before" pictures. Younger? Now if only this program grew hair on my head too!
E, I hope that I can help tip someone over the line to make a decision to change their life. I know that people have to come to the decision themselves and they have to be ready, but I never would have dreamed that in such a short time we would generate such fantastic results. Thanks.
Dari, now it really wasn't that hard to get these results. The biggest effort was realizing that I deserved to be just a tiny bit selfish and set aside the time to cook, eat, and walk. When a person is as big as I was their self-esteem tends to be supressed. The tiny bit of effort to do what's right for myself was a much bigger hurdle because of that, but now my self-esteem is much better.
Casey, Thanks so much. I hear people say I'm looking great and often I think so too. I'm not done though--wait till you see me later!
Deirya, Sarge, having a 14 point week isn't hard is it? Nobody told me that we shouldn't be able to follow the plan pretty perfectly pretty often. I'm going for a perfect boot camp of six 14 point weeks (plus the bonus points of course!). I have to, I'm afraid that you'll assign me push-ups and that would be working out way to hard!
Trisha, It's a pleasure to share my story. Sharing the photos was a little bit scary at first, before I had achieved so much success. I did it though and I really felt a renewed sense of committment after doing it. I encourage everyone to post their before pictures even if they are "On My Way!" It's funny though, I still get people occasionally who come up to me and ask, "Have you lost a little weight?"
Everyone, it is possible. It is not really that hard. It happens a little bit each week and piles up quickly. If you want it, you can do it too!
    Eric
