I was put on my first diet when I was 13. My mom had me on Weight Watchers. My parents always had a goal for me to weigh 130 lbs. I was bribed to loose the weight all through High School. I came close once, after I stopped eating for 5 days I weighed 135 lbs. - It wasn't good enough, so I gave up.
In college, I gained the Freshman 20, the Sophomore 20 and so on and so on. Living on a limited budget, the cheapest food to buy was pasta or the great deals you could get on pizzas. The pounds just kept adding on. When I graduated and started my career, I had to have a physical, I weighed in at 311 lbs. I had no idea it was that bad, I didn't own a scale in college, I only knew I had to keep buying larger clothes.
I decided it was time to try losing and to get serious about it. My degree is in Nutrition and Food Science, so I knew what to do, it just never worked for me. I tried 500 calorie and 1000 calorie restricted diets and never lost a pound. I tried counting fat grams, I went to the Doctor for help and went on prescriptions. I tried carb-addicts, Atkins, and over the counter pills. My last attempt was Weight Watchers. On the prescription pills, I lost 50 lbs. Once I stopped taking them, I gained it all back plus 20. On Weight Watchers, I lost 20 lbs the first 2 months, the next 6 months nothing. I was getting discouraged so I quit. I gained it all back plus 30 more this time. Very depressed about my weight, discouraged, and disappointed, I just figured I was destined to be fat forever. I always dreamed of being thin. I didn't want to die a fat person. I didn't want all the health issues and problems.
I saw the infommercial for the 6WBM one Saturday. After seeing it just once, I new this had to be the answer for me. It all made sense, especially the different body types. I knew there had to be a reason why nothing ever worked before, why all my past attempts - failed. This was the key - it had to be the answer!
I came to the website to further investigate the 6WBM, to make sure this was real. I saw all the before and after photos and read the success stories. I started reading the chat forums - reading about REAL people - the same size as me, losing the weight, being successful, enjoying the program - these were people that were happy and losing. Now I had the proof that this wasn't a gimmick. Here were real people, losing weight.
All I had to do now was convince my hubby that I had found yet another program to try and lose weight. I told him about the infommercial, then showed him the website, showing him the photos and reading the post to him. He said, if you think it's good, give it a try, order it! I ordered it that minute.
I started the program in November 2001, but due to a family situation, I was unable to give 100% to myself and this program. I tried again a couple more times, but we were still dealing with a medical problem with one of our children. I decided to try again when all of those issues were resolved. I was then ready, I knew the program worked, I lost 20 lbs the first try. I wanted this more than anything, I wanted to be successful, I wanted to be one of those people that loses 100+ lbs. I dreamed about losing the weight and what life would be like. It didn't matter the day of the week - I was starting the next day - I was ready and it was finally time for me to take care of ME!
I started on March 13th, 2002. I lost 33 lbs the first 6 weeks. I weighed 300 lbs by June 1st, 250 lbs on September 13th. I set my next goal of weighing 200 lbs. by Christmas Day. It was going to be my Christmas present to get that 150 lb Avatar. I met my goal and one better, I made it to 'one'derland on Christmas day.
I've lost 8" off my bust, 13" off my waist, 19" off my hips and 13" off each thigh. I have lost 10 sizes in pants.
I started this program as a person that hated anything to do with exercising. Who wants to exercise when you're that large. Just going up and down the stairs was exercise. Everybody on the forum was talking about exercising - so I decided I should give it a try. I started doing some exercise tapes, then the walk away the pounds tapes, then toning and doing the bands. I started off at 30 minutes a day 3-4 times a week. Moved up to 40-45 minutes, 5 days a week and now 60 minutes a day, 6 days a week for cardio and another 30 minutes of toning 3-4 times a week. I love to exercise, I love how I feel after I exercise.
I've learned so much about myself and my body over the last 9 months. The foods that work better for me on this program and the things I need to avoid forever. I still have 40-50 lbs left to goal, but I know I can see this through to the end, I can see the finish line and I know it is within my reach. This program has been a part of my life this last year and will continue to be a part of my life - forever! I have been coming to the forums everyday and have found tremendous help and support from my friends here and from the BMOS. There is always someone to listen and always an answer when you have nowhere-else to turn. There is always someone that understands exactly what you are going through.
I have spent the last 18 years overweight and feeling out of place. I'm finally starting to feel like I fit it.
I thank God everyday for finally showing me that there was an answer to my prayers. The 6WBM has been my lifesaver. A big thank you to MT, Provida, and the BMOS'. Thank you for helping me find myself again and here's to the new me in 2003!

To say that you look spectacular is an understatement. To say that you've done a great job doesn't come close to expressing how proud, pleased and amazed we are for you. Babs, you are the epitome of inspiriation for others who are where you were at last November. Those of us who took the chance, gave this program a shot will be forever thankful to MT. It has given us our lives.
Many, MANY congratulations to you!! You are very near the finish line and we have no doubt that you'll zip past it in a blur!!I know who one of the first calls we'll make when looking for more testimonials for another infomercial!! ;)

Thanks for the words of inspiration!! I just started my program, and it's success stories like yours that will keep me going when it gets tough and I start to doubt myself. I'm so glad that you shared your story, and I hope that someday I can share my success story as well.
    Thanks,

Ya know .... I've been reading through things on this board for quite a few months now, and the one thing I will never ever get used to is reading such amazing success stories, the ones like yours. You've taken all of the tools given to us, and you've made them work, flawlessly. You are another unbelieveable inspiration to those of us out here that are trying to make everything come together. Congratulations on your success, you've obviously worked very hard, and I know you'll continue to be an amazing person. Thank you for the inspiration!

Babbles, I am so happy for you. You are one determined lady. It must have been very difficult for you to start, because in your before photo you look so nice and beautiful, that there may not have been a huge internal incentive for you to lose and keep it off.
What did it for you? What was the key thing that motivated you to stick with such fundamental changes in your lifestyle? [I know what you mean by college and cheap convience foods. I have seen it happen many times over.]
For me it was cholesterol of over 300 and the fear of an early death.

I never lacked the motivation - always had plenty of that - just never the key to losing. The 6WBM was the key I was looking for. I didn't have any health concerns - blood pressure was great, cholesterol under 200, but my knees and back hurt - other than that - no health concerns.
My motivation was always the dream of being a healthy weight again, being able to do all the things I avoided because of my weight. I also worked in a gymnastics facility and saw the sculpted bodies of gymnast and semi-pro cheerleaders workout everyday - talk about motivation - I still dream of having their perfect bodies.
When I looked in the mirror - I never saw how bad it actually was - I saw myself - perhaps trapped inside. When I see a photo of myself - that's the wake-up call I needed. My before photo was taken for work - I protested the entire photo session. They ended up taking tight shots of everyone and never developing the full body shots. I was so disgusted with the tight shot - that I wanted it destroyed. I went and requested the full body shot - just for incentive to continue this journey - the stare-me-in-the- face proof that I needed to show how far I have come and the fear to never go back.

    You look fantastic.
You you are at my goal size! I am so terribly happy for you. Isn't it just wonderful that we've all found such an incredible program?
I am constantly amazed and inspired by others success here.
Your story was touching, and so well understood.
Happy New Year to you, may you reach all of your goals, AND may you also enjoy the road along the way.

:D Babbles, you have done so great. I am so proud for you that you are doing this. You will succeed to your goal. You look great!
Keep up the work. It does pay off especially when you are living lean. I lost a pound Thanksgiving eating everything I wanted in moderation :) Then for Christmas I ate what I wanted totally for a whole week without fear and two days later when I got back on track with five meals a day I had dropped all the water weight I had gained the week before. That in itself is AWESOME to me to know that we never have to be FAT again as long as we adhere to the basics. We CAN control our weight and size.
    Keep it up!

Thanks for sharing your story Babbles. It really does help those of us still in the trenches. And to hear you started and finally got the swing of it inspires those of us who are still struggling despite trying to be faithful, and whom often fall down.
Just dust ourselves off, and keep on trying!
