I was always heavy, when I turned four I gained weight quickly and that was how it would be.

Although I was large I always was strong and fairly active so people never really saw my size for what it was and didn't treat me like the size 24 I was.

So really I didn't diet over my adult life, I basically stayed the same.

My husband and I were faithfully watching Extreme Makeover every week, seeing the people go in the gym with Michael and losing a lot of weight quickly. Being a Food Scientist, I was always interested in what they were eating but of course the actual eating plan was not identified on the show.

Then last April of 2004, we turned on the TV showing a Nascar race, and immediately following that, there was Michael's infomercial for the Six Week Body Makeover, and we said, "that's it! That's what they've been doing on the show all this time." Oddly enough , we have never seen the infomercial since. Everything has it's time and place.

We immediately called and ordered. On April 19, 2004 at age 36, 5' 3", 229 pounds and pants size 24, I started following the plan.

My husband and I did it together very diligently. I walked 5-7 times per week for an average total 12-15 miles. He didn't really exercise much and quickly lost his 30 pounds and has kept it off very easily. I am a Type B and he is a Type C.

I lost very consistently an average of 3 pounds per week over the entire process, and for this Christmas, after only 8 months, I lost 89 pounds and a total of 89 inches! I now wear size 10.

The highlights of lost inches are 17.5 in the hips, 13.5 on the waist, 16 on my chest. But my favorite is 8.5 inches on the thighs, Guess now I know why they always rubbed together!

What is also amazing is that my face and neck skin is taught and not saggy, and I believe that is from all the good protein and well balanced plan. Most people who lose this much would look droopy, and people point that out to me all the time.

Even after so many months, my husband still has "who are you" moments when I walk into the room.

People are certainly excited and when they see the before pants and cannot believe I actually wore them. Then there are those who assume I had surgery. This was so easy! Why would you risk your life for a short term reward, and then you cannot even really eat much anyway for the rest of your life, and no one yet knows the true long term effects of these procedures.

We did a lot of research for rice pastas, rice pancake mixes, recipes, etc to make things really easy! I have inspired several others to do the diet with success and have been so rewarded helping others learn all the tricks and tips.

Again, being educated in Food Science, I truly believe this is maybe the only plan you can do forever because it isn't weird, and it isn't so on the edge. And who can't love eating all day every day and never being hungry. Our household is completely converted to the 6 times a day style and we plan to keep it that way.

    Hi!
More than one of you has asked for this information.
Remember, rice means anything rice based which is still low sodium and low fat.

I use alot of rice pastas. One good brand is Tinkyada. Basically this allows you to make pasta salads, spaghetti, etc.
Combine the pasta with italian dressings and vegetables and then you have two of your items covered in a meal with carbs and vegies. You have to cook the rice pastas longer, and rinse them as directed. Think about making spaghetti with ground turkey, etc. It makes it easier for the whole family to eat right with you.

But the best item is Arrowhead Mills Wild Rice Pancake Mix. Click on arrowheadmills.com and you will see it.
I make a huge batch: following the recipe on the bag minus the salt, using eggbeaters and water.
Make serving ladle size pancakes. Cool and layer in wax paper. Freeze a portion of the big batch and refrigerate the rest. Then when carb time comes, eat 2-3 of these with some sugar free pancake syrup and whatever additional protein you wish. I have had many an afternoon with scrambled eggbeaters and pancakes, or cold chicken and pancakes, etc.

The previously mentioned salad dressings are found at Waldenfarms.com.
No sugar, no fat, minimal salt. They have individual packets which are great in the purse when you go out. ALso, they have marshmallow creme which is also fat and sugar free. Put this in diet jello, or in mashed sweet potatoes with artificial sweetener and yum! You can buy some flavors at grocery stores, but on the site they have all sorts of things. The alfredo mix is really ok occasionally. Tomato sauce you can get just as good other places.

Trust me, check out your grocery stores, farm stores, etc for lots of rice products. I have found things like rice crumbs for breading, etc.

If you have trouble finding the websites, please ask.

    Cydney

    Cydney -
Way to go!! Man, I admire you!! You make me believe in commericals!! I knew when I read this info, that it had to be good, because of the content. It jus makes sence.
I read through the thread, thanks so much for the rice info!!! I was a little hesitant at first because it says you are a new member, with only 2 posts. From reading the entire thread, I can see you've been around. Where is your pic? I read everyone saying how wonderful you look, and did you get a position at 6WBMO? I guess I cannot find the rest of the info. You've done so well, how come you only have 2 posts? Or can I just not find them. The ones I did find were so inspiring to me, that I wanted to keep reading!!!
Again, good for you! Thanks for sharing and leaving the rest of us with alot to think about. And thanks again for the rice info.
    Have a GREAT day.

Cydney read that piece in her book that says if you have a Success Story to mail it in, and that's just what she did. Lil' ol' me toddled down to the PO Box which is down the street from my office, and seeing this fabulous story nearly ran back to the office. I encouraged Cydney to join our little support group because I thought she had a great story to share and would sure serve as a great role model for all of us.

No, as a Success Story, she does not work for Provida! I'm constantly on the hunt for good testimonial stories!! THAT'S why I tell everyone to post their pictures. Nothing supports this program better than seeing the honest to goodness success that people have on this program all the time!!!

    Hi Dolores.
How can I add photos to my profile?
I have tried but get message that the dimensions are too large (what should they be?) and also that that sight is not available at the time.

Have you used rice pastas, etc in your plan?

    Cydney
