Calling All Serious Second Timers....Let's Do This!!

Some of you "old timers" may remember me by my old user name Lindy1063. I did this plan back in 2005 and had great success. I lost 68 lbs in just 7 short months......was 10 lbs from my goal weight. I wont "bore" you with all my excuses/reasons why I failed the plan. The plan did not fail me, I failed the plan. So here I am back to square one, but more stronger and more determined than ever to reclaim my success and reach my goal and never look back! I recommited to this plan 3/5/07, and since have been searching for a place to call my home. I have decided to start this new thread where the "like minded" could join together, offer support, motivation and encouragement to each other. Share ideas, light bulb moments, fears, and frustrations, heck, share anything they want to share from the beginning, to goal, and beyond. Notice that I didn't say end? That's because there is no real end. I have learned the hard way that this isn't a diet whre you start....lose the weight...and go back to eating the way you used to. It has got to be a life long change.....to be incorporated forever. I know that there has got to be others who feel like I do, unable to find a home where people will stick around and are serious to do this!! So what do you say? Who's with me for the long haul????

You can count me in! I was talking (diets) to a neighbor over cocktails on St. Patty's day and she asked if I'd ever heard of the one where you "blue print" your program? I got up, went to my top closet shelf, got my little customized book and said, "you mean this one? It really works; I once lost 30 pounds on it!" It took a day or 2 to let that sink in, and on March 19, I also recommitted to this program. I first bought the program in 2001! and have attempted to implement it 3 times prior. Like you said, it's not the program that does not work, it's the person! This past year I have fought off about 15 pounds and kept it off (2006) and now I am ready to say good bye to another 40 or 50! Six week - six year - whatever, as long as I get there!! My weigh in day is Tuesday. This morning I was 5.6 pounds lighter and 2 inches slimmer than I was March 19. I am very proud of that; I was not even able to eat perfectly on plan last week as I had done the week's menues and shopping prior to my epiphany...but I dove back into the book, listened to the tapes on my commutes to and from work, and restructured my Body Sculpting workouts to incorporate the Bow Flex hubby and I purchased in 2006 for our birthday presents (he made an exercise room in the basement - it's WONDERFUL!). I even made friends with the treadmill, a former sworn enemy, last week, and we've been walking and jogging together all week! Anyway, I'm in and plan to be at goal weight and living lean by July 4, 2007!

That's great Sandy, so happy that you are going to do this And congrats for your 15 lb loss in 2006, and keeping it off. Also for your 5.6 lbs loss since the 19th. I am glad that you made amends with your tredmill...lol Hey, I have a bowflex too and I love it. How do you like yours? This isn't going to be a breeze, it is going to take us all lots of sweat, hard work, and dedication, but we know it works if we work it, and if we stick together, we WILL reach our goals!!!

We LOVE our Bow Flex!! Got it at a Play It Again store new for a good price. That's how I lost the 15# this past year. The exercise room DH built is heaven-sent. We have the Bow Flex in there, the treadmill, a "HealthRider" (got it free at a garage sale and it isn't worth much more than that!) and a stationery bike (in need of some repair at the moment - a $25 find - it works, but the handles wobble and bang). I have a very small TV w/built-in video machine for doing any exercise tapes as I feel the urge (really wish it had a DVD player, too!) and our stereo w/headphones so I can blast my music early in the mornings without disturbing the girls overhead. Have a stability ball and some hand weights 10 pounds and less and my yoga paraphenalia. The carpet is red, walls are kind of gym gray w/bold red stripe at ceiling and diagonally down each corner and the room screams ENERGY to me. The trouble is I don't always walk in and listen... I also have the Smart Technique CD's (older version) - I'm a self-proclaimed Food-A-holic - which I have started listening to again as well. I'm going for broke!! Just finished printing out a cookbook of sorts that another member was nice enough to share w/me from a previous NU camp. Should keep meal planning interesting. And I'm saving my menues in my computer, numbered by week of the year, to recycle them. Now if I could just get the family to eat more (any!) fish and chicken... Have a POP Day!

Boy am i with ya, I lost 90lbs from sep to jan and started nibbling and ive nibbled 17lbs back on i got to get back to the program!! I know the program works i just GOT TO DO IT!! ID LOVE TO JOIN LETS DO IT!!

Well, glad to see a few join in today, that is great. Welcome Donna!! I just finished watching American Idol....haha, yeah, I'm a idol junkie..hehe. I made the best pot of chili today, yum!! Took a recipe in the cookbook and changed it up a bit. Plus I made the chili powder that was in the book. It turned out so good. I like to put mixed texmati white, red, and brown rice in with my chili instead of using the beans. I looked at all the pinto beans in the cans and they were all loaded with added sodium. Plus, I like the texture that the rice gives the chili. You guys try any new recipe's this week?

Hey Girlfriend!! Thrilled to see the new thread! Hope it's everything we're looking for, and glad to see some visitors already. It's a start! You are indeed right, it will not be easy. But at least we will have each other, and that will make it 'bearable!' I'll be here by your side all the way. You know that !
