I'm using my kitchen scale to measure my proteins. Can I use my scale for my carbs, veggies and fruit? Proteins are measured by weight. Carbs, veggies and fruit are measured by volume. Due to the difference in food denities, there is no direct conversion of one to the other (For instance, one cup of spinach will not weigh the same as one cup of broccoli.) If you prefer to measure all your foods by weight, you can measure them in a measuring cup to make sure your portion size is accurate, then weigh and record your findings on a chart for future reference.
