    Focus On Your Finishline

My journey started on 03/03/03. I had received my 6WBMO a few days earlier and was all set ready to go. Many small steps I took along the way added up.

I had seen the infomercial a few times months before and after writing down the phone, I just put it aside. Then in Feb. 03 I listened to the infomercial and when I heard that it was healthy/real food I thought why not try it?

I had decided I had to do something about my weight. I knew I would be turning 40 and I thought it would only get harder to loose weight if I put it off any longer. Plus, I could return it in 6 weeks and get a refund.

Well now, one year-eight months later the 6WBMO is my lifestyle!

I have always been active, but in 1998 I got an Achilles injury. But that was only the beginning of many medical issues that continued to escalate until 2001 when I was --admitted to the hospital with a toxic reaction to medication. And for the next few years had many related health issues.

Due to the combination of illness, medications, depression, lack of exercise, and eating a very unhealthy diet, I had gained over 60 lbs, and had no self-esteem. I felt I was more of a victim in my daily life and was in complete denial of what my appearance had become.

It was really hard to realize that I had become both mentally and physically at the lowest point of my life. But for some reason, when I heard Michael Thurmond talk about the 6WBMO it just made sense.

He made it crystal clear and had it all spelled out for me in black and white what do and when to do it. This is a basic, healthy, all encompassing lifestyle. I really like how it covers all aspects of diet and exercise and offers tremendous support with the website and phone line.

On 03/03/03 I weighted 194.5lbs and my total inches, which I took for the first time during week 2 after starting the 6WBMO, totaled 310inches. Today I have lost 65bs lbs and down 62 inches!! (Total: inches 248") and (since 6/11/04) Living Lean!

There have been ups in downs along the way (no pun intended) but I credit the chat forums and Smart CD's as important, invaluable tools in my lifestyle change.

I found (and still do) compassion, motivation, inspiration, information and emotional support on the website. The Smart CD's continue to re-program my subconscious and impact my daily life. To this day I am very active on the Provida website and continue to use the Smart CD's!

As I mentioned early I took many small steps along the way which on Nov 7th, 2004, added up to me crossing the finish line of the New York City marathon! Even though I was not always overweight I truly was SO out of shape when I started the 6WBMO. I got winded going up the stairs. My knees hurt all the time and I basically stayed at home so no one could see me. I also avoided family and friends.

I decided that the pinnacle of this journey would be to complete the NYC marathon. In June, I received my acceptance into the marathon and continued to use the principles and motivation while training, along with of course, the lifestyle changes I had made from the 6WBMO. I had some hard moments during the marathon, but I thought of and used what I had learned from the 6WBMO by concentrating on the mind/body connection and visualization of crossing that finish line! As I did, I saw it was getting closer and closer. It was a day of personal celebration for me. I am hoping I can get into the NYC marathon 2005!!!!And run every step of the way!

One final note... put your mind set to a goal, and know you yourself CAN DO IT!! Mind over matter. No matter what it is, a marathon or losing weight, if you want it, you can do it.

This is my own personal story and I know each individual will vary a little, but we all share the common goal and the 6WBMO. You CAN accomplish your personal goals!! Each of us does have it inside ourselves to achieve our goals I truly believe that. And we can use our successes again along the way to help us realize we can and will see/attain our goals!!!!!

Most of this was learned from the many little steps I took along the way and incorporating the 6WBMO lifestyle! I also wish to thank Michael Thurmond for sharing his knowledge, experience and giving us the tools for a new lifestyle, Provida for the website, and all the wonderful people from my true friends on the chat forums, to the BMOS who work so hard to offer the support and wisdom on the website!

I cannot put into words my true appreciation for everything that I have learned and the many aspects of my life that the 6WBMO has influenced or changed!

Tray your story is so inspirational! Reading about how all the small steps you took added up to being successful, in so many ways, makes me feel so encouraged and fills me with such a desire to strive for crossing my own finishing line.

I feel so blessed to have gotten to know you, almost from day one of my starting the 6WBMO. You really helped me realize that if I believe in myself, and continue to focus on my goals and do my "best work" I can get there too.

    You're the BEST!

    Tray,

Congrats on your finish line! Quite the story you have. Thanks for setting the example that anything is possible. Yes, the finish line is what people need to focus on rather than the bumps along the way.

It's been great working with you in the Fitness Center of NBU with the NewsStand. It's always encouraging to find those who love to exercise and can help others understand the process.

Golly, what an identity crisis. Everyone is seeing you, but hearing me. Now that is quite a pair huh? Sure they will get it fixed before the end of the month! ahhh, just kidding, it will be sooner than that! Right Dolores! ROTFL. oh, btw Dolores, thanks for all you are doing. I know you are the one lady voice for all of us out here in Providaland cyperspace. Gotta love your multi-hat job!

    Congrats again Tray!

Tray - What an honor to be a student at Cougar Hall with You!! Congratulations on being selected the December Pin Up! I love opening the Provida web site and seeing your skinny-minny body next to your (eh hem.....) "bigger" one and being all the more inspired each time! Thanks so much for your friendship, your insight, your motivation and most of all your dedication in providing us with your knowledge of the program and the pleasures of learning to live lean. You are a true inspiration and I will continue to work towards achieving my goals the way you have.

First of all you are amazing CONGRATS!! Wow you are such an insperation. I started the plan in March of 04 and lost 37 pounds then fell off the wagon and am now getting back on plan and you are such an inspiration to me. I would love to enter into a walk or run but, know that the shape I am in will not allow me to do that I have asthma and the weight has made it much worse. The question is how long did it take you to reach your goal of losing 65#? I am trying to set realistic goals for myself and getting an idea by everyone else's success. I would appreciate the feed back from such a successful person. Once again congrats and keep up the good work you are an inspiration to us all.

    Hi-thank you!
bnd8792- Glad that you have chosen to get back on the 6wbmo! and you know it works! 37lbs lose is also inspiring! When you reinforcement just remind yourself that you have been able to loose weight! You have been the proof!
I looked at your profile.. And you were athletic and can be again! (if you stick with the 6WBMO) I was very athletic before gaining my weight.
I remember doing cardio for the first time when I started the 6WBMO- I was in such denial..the reality was that I could not believe how slow I had to walk to stay at my THR. I was a rude awakening.. I could not walk up the small flight of stairs without loosing my breath! I also had gotten exercise- induced asthma (never had any kind of asthma before in my life- which I do not have anymore) But I followed my eating plan, exercise plan and resistance training as written! I did not start to run until I was around 137lbs (so had lost most of my body fat) and could only run on the treadmill very slowly to stay at my THR. Again the benefits of this lifestyle has been numerous! So you will be able to enter that walk!!
I had a few things along the way which slowed my lose down.. A very stressful-long time period at work, and found out I had a low thyroid..which not I take meds for.. And then last year I was not 100% around the holidays but I did not gain just stayed at the same weight.. And I credit for NBU for help me getting on track.. Each person's time to reach goal will be different.. But you can get to goal and the efforts you have made to do that will well be worth it!! good luck to you!

    my3kiwis-What are your goals?
yes I have set some new short term goals for the holidays to help me through this year!! (that is one of them..to stay on track through the holidays..Thanksgiving - DONE! now just have to make it through til the new year's LOL) and in the area of reshaping my body by resistance training..
NYC marathon is my favorite race! Nyers are amazing on that day and you see parts of NYC that you most likely would never see otherwise! But the crowds
of supporters cheering you on are what is so amazing!
I hope to be running by you next year again!!
Did you uncle have a good experience this year?

Annie- Same to you! It has been a re-motivation to be able to have a place to go..
You understand .. keep repeating the monthly goal!! I am behind you in that one!
But think I am close to my first 32!
