My story like most of the other stories on this chat forum started without hope and with an overwhelming feeling of helplessness. After years of abusing my body by yo-yo dieting my body and metabolism quit on me and disappeared. I had steadily been gaining 10 lbs per year with no hope of ever being thin again. There are many people in this world that are happy being heavy but inside me was a thin person screaming to be seen, making the extra large me miserable.
I saw the infomercial for the 6WBMO and thought of the many other products I had seen and even tried that had failed me in the past. How could this one be different and work? But, I watched the infomercial again and this time I wrote down the web site for future interest. Later that very day after several hours of reading others posts and experiences with the 6WBMO ( Annie's, Shelita's, drb's) I had a glimmer of hope.
I ordered the program and began my journey to unleash the skinny me. After six weeks I was 25 1/2 lbs lighter and after three months I had lost 45 lbs. My original goal was to lose 70 lbs then I upped the goal to 84 lbs. I have now given up on the goal in pounds because it doesn't matter what the scale reads. I have preset image in my mind of what I want to look like and that is where I am headed. I currently weigh 144 lbs and have lost 60lbs and a combined total of 86 inches. I have reshaped my body and I am really beginning to like what I see. I wear mostly 6's and a few 4's but that is a far cry from the tight 18's I started in.
Until recently I worked out with the bands on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday every week. I have now started the Advanced Workout Package and it is unbelievable. After the first workout I could tell the difference even though I had been doing these basic exercises for eight months now.
When I was in LA I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Michael, Annie, Shelita, drb and many others of whom helped me along this path. I cannot ever express my gratitude to each of these and everyone on the chat forum for their support along the way.
I am for the first time in many years happy with the me I see in the mirror. I can't wait to get up in the morning and look at myself in the mirror wearing nothing but panties. I take this opportunity everyday to evaluate, congratulate, and still even critisize a little the problem areas. I used to wear large baggy clothes to help hide the extra weight I was putting on but no more. I will never again hide behind my clothes. I am proud to wear fitted dresses, pants, and shirts that show my real size. I am finally happy with me. If you are reading this and you are unhappy with the way you look and feel please try the Six Week Body Makeover for yourself. Be happy with what you see too.

    congrats marla!
I too feel the same way... I'm slowly beginning to like what I see in the mirror... of course, I'm still a far cry from a size 4-6... currently a 10... but I haven't started the bands yet.
After doing this program, I'm finally developing more confidence in myself and seeing all the good qualities I have.

I'm glad you gave up on the 80 pounds... I honestly don't think you need another 20 off.... but I'll keep e-mailing you to nag you about it and maybe you can keep me off the cookies!!! The advanced work out rocks...
Congrats on your losess and I am so glad to have met you. And I did miss you when you computer broke! - Love - Lisa

Marla, you look terrific, and I'm glad that now you're able to see in the mirror what others around you can see. You're beautiful!
And congratulations on getting away from the scale and focusing on the image in your mind. I really can't imagine you looking any better after losing 20 more pounds.
Come join us on "things that make you go hrm..." in the targeted body sculpting forum. Several of us are in the same mode of trying to get away from the scale and focus on shape instead.

Thanks Lisa and Simone for making my already big head swell even bigger. lol But really thanks for being there to back me up and give me the support I needed and still need to succeed. I will check in on the forum you mentioned Simone.
Lisa you are a cold drink of water on a hot summer day. I can always count on you for encouragement. Thanks.
Zelda stick with it and you will meet your goals. Try the bands and see what a difference they will make in what you see. I had some before pictures where I was in a bathing suit and I drew the lines on the pictures where I wanted to eliminate my body. When I compare those pictures now to the me I see now, I am really close.
    Thanks again,
    Marla

Ahhh, more fond LA memories come flooding back! As Al & I drove you back to the hotel for our final good-bye, we didn't want to let you go....we could have gone on forever listening to your stories about life on a buffalo ranch. Lisa is right, you glow from the inside out. Your personality lights the path before you and what follows is a truly beautiful person who just happens to be fit and trim!!! We at Provida are so darned proud of you and of all our wonderful family of losers! What a shining example and mentor you are for those that follow in your footsteps. Congratulations, Marla...you are a SUPER STAR!!!

Thank you to everyone for the kind things you said. When family members say things to me I often don't really hear them because I guess I feel like they are saying what they think I want to hear.
I am still trying to SEE what size I am. I am still constantly comparing myself to others I see in the mall, at church, and everywhere I go to visually see if I am larger, smaller or their size. My mind is really having a hard time feeling like a size 4-6. I look at women that are 10 and 12's and that is the size I FEEL like I am at. It will be a wonderful day when my mind catchs up with my body.
Thank you Okojie, Annie, and Delores for saying such wonderfully sweet things. I feel like a fitness model for the first time in many years. PamK believing in the program is half the battle because if you aren't happy with what you are doing then you won't stick to it. Congratulations on your success so far and we will be looking for you in the living lean forum.

Tatanka, I have experienced what you are felling and one thing that helps a lot is keeping in our minds what truly is a good model of physical beauty. I simply do not agree that it is the images of emaciated actresses and models that we are constantly bombarded by in the printed media, TV and the movies. I have stopped buying fitness magazines that use undersized models. They must contain real people and athletics that demonstrate my ideal of 'normal' at its best. When I look at these healthy, strong, beautiful women, I can see that my size is not so far away. Granted I am not built as an athlete! But their overall size is closer to my own. The difference is the amount of muscle built and percentage of body fat.
We need to see more people like you, Tatanka. You are beautiful, you are healthy, fit and strong and I look to real women like you as a model of health and fitness, as something to strive toward.
Remember that advertising is based upon someone's fantasy, and the fantasy of most people who make decision about what we see and how it is portrayed advertisers is off base. It makes me wonder if they are on drugs. Thank goodness, there is an increasing number of people from diverse backgrounds asserting themselves in the field of advertizing and other media. Still there is a prevailing culture out there of abnormal slenderhood that we must constantly resist. We must help our children to see what is made-up as opposed to what is real. It is not at all unusual for the photographer to make an already slender lady appear even thinner than she actually is. So, here is a good tip! Surround yourself with images of what is real beauty and consciously remind yourself that we are bombarded with false images and that there is a segment of society that has brought into this idea of death on a stick as beautiful, but those who have learned better reject it, and teach others to recognize true beautify. Your family must be extremely proud of you and you have helped the young women in your family more than you will ever realize.
Dolores tell MT to hurry up with that newsletter and we want pics too!

Okojie I agree totally with you.... In the past when I have tried to obtain the model type body I almost had to die to do it.... ate fruit and protein... Exercised until I would drop.... We need to accept our bodies we all have area we don't like and can't seem to change.... but we need to accept ourselves and move on to truly be happy....
LOOK AT WHAT JAMIE LEE CURTIS just did.... showed her true body and not her magazine/movie airbrushed body that we see... That was very brave of her to come out about the truth... I'm sure she has received a lot of slack from the industry... Jamie was also very honest in the article and on the morning news show "Today I think" about what she has had done to her body and that she will no longer put herself or her body through anymore of that.... I for one appreciate her honesty and I hope every young person seen these before and after airbrushed pictures.... as so many of our young people today try to obtain those slick bodies that are airbrushed.... I saw one too once of Cindy Crawford... big difference from before and after.... the computer can do awesome things to a picture....
    Well that's my forty cents....lol
Hugs... to all.... Keep up the great effort your all putting forth!

Oh Marla you are a beautiful person inside and out I am so happy we were able to meet in LA. Life on the maintenance side is a bit harder for me. BUT I will figure it out and you know what I am going to find more time for the forum--life has been busy and I have stayed away and today I was feeling really down about myself and a few minutes here I and I am feeling better!
You have found yourself again and you a warm vibrant individual who lights up a room!
Did you get your Clyds yet? How are your other new horses and old ones? I can't wait to hear!
Take care nad keep me posted

Thanks Casey! There are those days when I am in a mood and I see things in the mirror that drive me crazy. Like sagging skin and puffy, fat areas that stick out. Luckily those days are few and far between now. But thanks again.
Hello again Debbi. I have not seen you around in a while and was beginning to wonder if you had deserted us. I am glad you are back. My computer hard drive crashed for about ten days and I thought I would go crazy without being able to sign into the chat forum and see what was going on and get support. I am so addicted that I can sit on the computer for hours and that keeps me away from the kitchen and the no-no foods. I believe you are probably experiencing 6WBMO chat forum withdrawls like I did. Don't let it happen again. lol
I did get my Clydes and they are wonderful. They are five months old, just weaned and they are already standing at 14 hands. Their father is 18.2 hands. They had been out to pasture since they were born and had not been handled at all until they were gotten up to be worked for the traveling paperwork. Needless to say they must have handled them pretty rough because they are so skiddish. We have had them for almost three weeks and I go out and work with them everyday but I am just now getting them to trust me enough to let me approach them and rub them without flinching and running away. They are just beautiful. I will try to email you a picture to the address you gave us in LA on the napkin. The other horses are great too. Thanks for asking. How is your buckskin doing? Are you getting much opportunity to ride lately? I hope you are.
PamK and Okojie I think I need ya'll to hang out with me. I know what you say is true but it is so very hard to fight what we are so bombarded with. I am a B type so I will never look like the bodies that are in the magazines but that is okay now too. I am 38 years old and I think I look pretty darn good. My oldest son is in college and even though he comes home most every weekend I guess he doesn't pay attention to what his mom looks like. However, at church yesterday a lady was asking me about the program and commenting on my weight loss. When we got home my son said that he had not noticed until today how small my waist really was. I was floored. For him to say that was the ultimate compliment. After all I have been wearing his jeans 30 x 30's for a while now. But it was sweet.

Tatanka, you look like a different person. You looked alright before and still there seems to be a sparkling glow that comes across in your recent photo that is not in your before photo. You look younger and happier too, livelier and being lively has nothing to do with weight. It’s all about how you feel and approach life. It look as as if you have a spring in you step now!
    Congrats!

I would love for you to email me pictures of your new babies! I would love to see them. Like any relationship it will take time to gt them to truely trust you and be "yours" they will come around I know it just takes patients. Kid is doing great I ride hime at leat once a week, Katies 4h leader has a indoor arena we ride in, we have a adult night (her son is sick tonight so we didn't this week) but we are also starting lessons wtih a lady near by at the arena so I will ride tommarrow instead.
Well hopefully things will settle down and I will be able to come visit here more again I need this place to keep me on track. Maintenace is hard for me and I am struggling. :'(
    Keep in touch
