I wasn’t always fat. I grew up in a home where you ate everything on your plate. My parents would serve me, and the portions were always more than I wanted. I started gaining weight. After that people started calling me names. At first it was chunky. Then the names became more brutal…blimp, blob, and whale. I started hiding from the world. I hated school because the kids were so mean.
When I was a senior in high school I went on my first diet with my mom. We drew these little cans on index cards for the weight we wanted to lose. Each time I lost a pound I colored in one of the lines. Each can represented three pounds of fat. We made a game out of it. When my mom came home from work we would eat and then go for a walk. It worked; I lost my weight.
Years went by and I gained a few pounds. I started gaining more weight. Soon I was 162, then 180, and 199. I knew if I went over 200 pounds I’d explode. I didn’t, but depression set in. Again, I went on another diet. I was working out at the gym six times a week. Four days I’d do step aerobics for 60-90 minutes and two days I did weights.
I was able to get the weight off. I looked better than I ever have in my life, but I had to kill myself at the gym to do it. I was so happy. I met my future husband. Life was wonderful. He asked me to marry him. I was on top of the world. I bought my wedding dress. It was beautiful; a fitted, slimming, off-the-shoulders sexy number. I was going to be the most beautiful bride.
Then I got sick. We put off the wedding. I’d get so sick after I ate that I stopped eating. I couldn’t eat during working hours or I couldn’t work. I had to force myself to eat when I got home. I’d eat a baked potato or a piece of toast. I killed my metabolism and I gained 60 pounds. I got married, but I had to wear a fat dress. To this day I hate my wedding photos.
I stumbled across this plan in June 2003. I’m one of the few people who have never seen the infomercial. My best friend told me about the plan. She and another friend were both on it and losing weight. I was determined not to be the only fat person in the group.
That night I came to the website and started reading. I saw the money back guarantee. I could even pay on a payment plan. I thought…. I’ll try it for six weeks and when it doesn’t work; I’ll return it and get my money back. I didn’t tell my husband about my purchase until the package arrived.
My journey began on 6/30/2003. I thought I’d lose 20 or so pounds. Boy was I wrong. Here I am 66 pounds lighter and 62.5 inches smaller. I’ve lost 15.25 inches off my waist and 14.5 off my hips. When I started I was a size 20; now I’m a 6. I lost 22 pounds in the first six weeks. By the end of the fifth month I’d lost 50 pounds. It was so easy. I was eating every two to three hours and losing weight. I was walking with my co-workers at lunch for only 30 minutes a day; five days a week. No more killing myself at the gym. I feel better, look better and have tons of energy. I eat 5–6 smaller meals a day and drink lots of water. The water has done wonders for my skin. I was never a water drinker until I started this plan. I hated it. Now my body craves it. Most people tell me I look younger now.
I’ve been given the tools to success all packaged up nicely in a little box. No longer will have to diet to keep my weight under control. I’ve changed the way I look at food.
I can look in the mirror now and love the person looking back. It’s been such a long time since I felt that way. Before, I hated shopping. Now, you can’t keep me out of the stores. I bought four two-piece bathing suits this year. Two of them are bikinis. I hadn’t owned a bikini since high school.
Remember the wedding dress? Well, it fits. I’ve scheduled an appointment with a photographer. I want new wedding pictures in the dress I was supposed to get married in. As soon as I get the photos I’ll be posting one in my profile.
How do you express your gratitude for this plan? How do you tell someone you’ve never met how much he changed your life? How do you tell someone they saved your marriage and probably your life? How can you thank someone for these things? Well, all I can do is stay here at the site and tell as many people as I can that this plan works if you follow it. You can be the next success story. Your life can change like mine did. You can learn to love yourself again. I know because it happened to me!

Heyyyyyyyyyy, I've got that same brass ring hanging here at my house too!! Isn't it amazing? This program is like the energizer bunny, it just keeps working, and working and working!!
Best of all? Unlike so many aspects in life, recognizing and embracing your success does nothing to minimize the success of others. Quite the contrary, it shows others that this can happen to ANYONE, IF they have the burning desire, as you obviously did.
Super congrats, Wendy. Not only have you done so well, you are a constant source of support, motivation and help here on the chat forum. We soooooooooooo appreciate that here in Providaland. :D

What an amazing story! Congratulations to you! Your pictures look great.
I agree that putting up these success stories will really let people know that we ARE real people that are succeeding and we are "eating to lose". It seemed crazy at first, but it is amazing. I have lost 15 lbs in 9 weeks and have 12 more to go to get to goal and then maybe even go beyond that. I love this plan also and it works!
Congrats again on your continued success and best of luck with living lean.

Dee, What can I say? You've been a source of inspiration to me since I started on this amazing journey of self discovery. I couldn't have done it without you. Thanks for all your wishes and all your help. Everyone has been wonderful here and it's true what I said....y'all are going to have to kill me to get rid of me. ;)
Gretchen, Thank you so much for your message. You're doing great. Keep up the good work. Who would have ever "thunk" you could eat more and lose weight? Isn't it wonderful?
Rita, Thank you too. It's because of people like you that I made it. I sure did buy 4 two piece bathing suits. We have a water park not far from the house and I'm getting season passes this year. :D
Thank all of you again. To everyone out there...it CAN happen to you!

    Wendy—
I’m sitting here with a huge smile on my face for you. I was so excited the other day when I saw in one of your posts somewhere that you had gotten to the magic number! I told DH about you. I can’t wait to see the pic of you in your wedding dress. I know you’re going to be as radiant as a bride because you’ve worked so hard to achieve it. As always, thanks for continuing to post here and be such an inspiration to others and myself. I always credit you for telling me such wonderful things about the program when I first posted on the newbie board (after having seen the infomercial) when I was deciding to buy it or not. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Sherrie, the wedding photos are being taken this weekend. I'm so happy you joined the family. You're doing so well and I'm soooo proud of you!
Sue, I know you'll get there. Room for everyone here. I'll keep that brass ring handy.
Mina, Keep focused you can do it too!
Jackie, that is so sweet. I'm happy to help in any way I can. I want you to be a success story too!
Thanks Dan, I told Sharon I'd post my success story when I reached my goal. I started it several weeks ago and emailed it to her to see what she thought. You better leave those cats alone. ;)
Terry, thank you so much. Wishing you much success.
Thanks Nella, I've never gotten a standing ovation before. You're starting right around where I did. Just remember you CAN do this.
Thanks again to everyone. All of your kind words make me want to cry, but don't worry I'm not going to....lol
    Talk to y'all later.

    Wendy--
When I logged on tonight, I was like "I know that person." Then, I yelled out "oh my. It's Wendy." And my DH came rushing over--he is quite impressed by the before/after shots.
Congratulations on being the star of the month.
