I keep looking for support and a buddy who will check in EVERY DAY. Someone I can hold accountable and someone who will hold ME accountable. I've tried several diets with a partner but every time I do, I find it's just ME holding my partner accountable, and after a week or two I find myself on my own again. I'm starting to wonder if I'll have more luck being on my own...
If you're serious and want a buddy who is serious I'd love to take the journey with you!!!

I'm still around! Thanks for replying - would love to be a partner with someone serious. :)
Just measured myself and am THRILLED to be under 150! (149.5 lol). I measure myself tomorrow so I need to make sure to be extra good today. Can't wait to see the progress from week 3.
How are things coming along for you? What's working for you... what's NOT working for you...?

What's working for me is: working the plan as written.
What's not working: Eating at the right times during the weekend. This weekend, I will be selling ICK plates at a July 4th festival. My plan is to take my food with me and keep it in a cooler. I have seen a couple of pounds gone since returning to the plan this past Monday and so want to be able to post the number on Monday.

Week 3 results:
-5.5 pounds
-4.5 inches
I'm so pleased with these results! I had almost no results in week 2, but week 3 really stepped it up. I wouldn't be surprised to see this taper off again by next week, but I'll keep doing what I'm doing, staying POP, and see what week 4 brings. My goal is at least 2 pounds and 1 inch.

I will do this journey with you too. With today being a holiday, how did you do? I stayed home all day and ate my plan foods. My extended family decided not to get together and spend $$ on food, since we will all be getting together in 2 weeks in Gatlinburg. That sure helped me stay on plan!
My extended family is great, but they just don't get it. I still have to prepare my foods seperatly. Vacation will be a learning experience for me!

Well I have 4 days left in this week.... then I measure myself. EEEEEK! With the Holiday weekend I gave myself permission to slip. It was inevitable and I wanted to "love" myself rather than feel guilty (which only leads to binge eating and more guilt). I did great - enjoyed a few treats with the family, ate right 50% of the time and now I'm back 100% POP. ... I DID gain weight (the exact amount I predicted) and I'll be lucky to maintain 149 this week, let alone loose 2 pounds - my goal. I have to admit though, despite the gained weight, it's rewarding to look at the scale read 152 instead of 162! I've truly lost 10lbs of fat! (THAT is why it's so important to measure yourself. It's the reality of inches instead of just pounds, which can really fluctuate). Anyway I hope you all enjoyed your Holiday weekend and found a happy balance. Remember... What you eat in private, shows in public. (By the way Yvonne, I love the quote at your signature.)

Hey, I'm back. I meant to post yesterday but I got caught up in reading all the other posts.
Well, the weekend went OK somewhat. On the 4th, my catering company sold fried ICK all day from 12 noon to 12 midnight. I ended up eating my first two meals at the correct times at home but then I did not eat anything again until around 8 pm because we were so busy. I didn't eat any of the fried foods because I was tired of seeing and smelling it by the time I had a chance to eat Then on Sunday and Monday, we spent those days putting away all of our supplies (well, after church on Sunday.)
I have been doing good so far. Two weeks ago, I was at 217, today I weigh 205. I knew I was carrying a lot of water from eating ICK for three months so probably half of the lost was from water. I am 3lbs. away from my next AVI. For the last three days, I have been POP, drinking my water and getting my exercise in. Yesterday, I power walked for an hour and today, I can feel it in my hamstrings. Not bad but I know they are a little tight. I am thinking about going walking again today before our evening service. I just don't want to go to church stinking. Unfortunately, it looks like it is going to rain so I will have to go to the gym instead of walking outside which I love because we have a 250 acre lake where I work. So beautiful.

That is awesome. I am really proud of you for not eating any of the fried food. I would have a hard time with that. I need to get back motivated to walk again. I seem to be lagging behind in that department.

Wahoo! End of week 4! I met my goal and lost just over 2lbs and exactly 1 inch!!! For week 5 I'd like to loose 3lbs and 1 inch How are all your results coming along? By the way - I think there' something to be said about measuring myself Friday morning, rather than Monday, where I KNOW I'll have a slip over the weekend, get mad at myself and then refuse to measure Monday. Measuring Friday morning has worked great because if I DO slip over the weekend by Monday I can say, "Oh my gosh! I have 4 days left until I measure. I better be PERFECT all 4 days, to make up for the weekend." It really does something for my mindset but creates a happy balance.Alright enough jabber. Out the door for my walk!

Hola,
I think it is a mindset about when to measure and when to way in. I used to do both on Fridays but then in my mind that gave me the go ahead and eat off plan for the weekend. Mondays work better for me because I know that I want the scale to keep moving downward on Monday morning. But I think everyone needs to pick a day that work for them.
Now about my weight. I am a scal-a-holic, I weigh in every morning. So in this past week, I have gone from 207 to 205 to 211 to 208 this morning. This has never happened before that I can remember although I have been weighing myself everyday for the past five years. However, I remained POP and getting in all my exercise. I know that it is just fluid but it was just so strange to see if happening. So I will be curious to see what I weigh on Monday morning for my official weigh in.
I normally do not post over the weekend because I get busy and just don't think about. I normally log in while at work and once I get home, I just don't think about anything I do at work. So I was talk with you on Monday. (If I remember, I log in tomorrow.)

Alright... it's been 5 days since anyone has checked in so here I am, admitting just how poorly I've been doing. (If I don't get on here and hold myself accountable I may continue on the wrong path). Well this has not been my best week. I didn't have a bad weekend, but I didn't eat on a strict schedule and then Monday I just kinda gave up. I'm back on track, but I feel that I've essentially lost 4 days, despite my consistent exercise. I measure in two days and I'm just disappointed in myself, knowing that I COULD have been 143 (my goal) but instead I'll be lucky to be 147 (a 1lb gain). I know these numbers aren't a HUGE deal, but I had a really strict 8 weeks to loose 30lbs and now I'm sure I won't meet it. I LOVE hitting my goals, and my strong will and stubborn personality ensures I do. AS A RESULT I'M AIMING TO HAVE A PERFECT WEEK FROM TODAY TO NEXT WEDNESDAY! PLEASE JOIN ME. ONE POWER WEEK!!!
Afterwards I'll shoot for ANOTHER perfect week, but for now just one at a time. If I can be absolutely perfect for the next three weeks maybe I'll meet my goal after all. It's only 3 weekends. No big deal. I can do it. :) AND SO CAN YOU!So here I am... challanging you - the moment you read this - to commit to 7 days of perfection. Just 7. What's that? You're not sure if you're up for it? Sorry my friend, it's a little late... you just read this, thus the challenge has begun!!! :)(I'll be waiting for your results a week from now)!

There are plenty ofserious prople over in NBU. There are challenges and fun and sharing and cooking tips and icons to get as rewards. The intersession just closed but check out NBU's thread, and when the enrollment is open everyone join in on the fun. I have been an RA= Resident Assistant and I can't tell how much support you will get. Come on over and check it out. Have a great day all.

Hi there, I've been off the boards for a while and decided that I was in need of finding support. I did really well with my weight loss and when I am on plan, I lose pretty steadily. I'm almost to my main goal and will re-evaluate the goal from there, but I know that a lot of us will have a hard time with living lean afterward.
Today is my first day back POP, so I'm a day behind you, but if you are sticking to a week by week, I'll be there. Other than that....
My name is Samantha, live in Alaska, 31, recently married (March 1). My weight is fluctuating from 138 to 143, but that was before getting back to POP.
Hope your day is going well. Feel free to chat with me whenever.
Cheers!

Hi,
How to get serious, a great question. That's my problem: I'm up 20# and haven't been able to get with the program again. I lose wonderfully when I actually do it. so, Ineedavacation, how did you get seriously motivated?

suereatta:Hi,
so, Ineedavacation, how did you get seriously motivated?
Wow... really a good question. And I should ask you the same. We should rename this forum, "How do YOU get serious?" :)
How I get serious:
1. MAKE A DECISION Make a decision to become healthy and do whatever it takes. If it's a wishy-washy... "Yeah... I think 120 might be nice," it'll never happen. But to decide "120 is attainable and where I will be 6 months from now" - welll - that's a different story. 2. MAKE A PLAN I break it down into daily goals and weekly check points that I WRITE DOWN. For example: Weekly - Loose 2lbs, cook all my chicken and potatoes for the week, etc. Daily - Walk 1 hour, eat on schedule, go to bed by 11:00pm, etc. 3. HOLD MYSELF ACCOUNTABLE I have a "Physically accountability" chart that I keep by my bed and every night I mark off everything I did. (Walk 1 hour, Drink 100 oz, Resistance Day 1, Resistance Day 2, Eat right - etc.) It's a month long chart - so I can glance at it and see how I did that month. When I'm having a rough week I use my WEEK long chart instead, focusing on just 7 days at a time. I also measure myself and put it in a graph at the end of EVERY WEEK no matter how poorly I did. It's for ME - and it keeps me motivated, knowing that I'll be held accountable.

I "registered" over a month ago and never heard anything back from anyone - so I don't know if I'm included, if it was too late, what the next step is... etc. I expected some type of automated response.... (Did I miss something perhaps?) That's why I started THIS forum, to just create my OWN support, as I didn't have the patience to figure out or wait on NBU....

You look great! Now let's kick those last 5lbs :) Your goals are very similar to mine, so I'm glad you joined this forum - hope you check in often. How have you done with the Power week? I messed up after all. :( HOWEVER... yesterday I got my monthly visitor - which explains my last 2 weeks of ZERO success, as well as my craving to eat EVERYTHING. I was getting a bit discouraged, so I'm very happy to have a scapegoat now. lol Hopefully I can start loosing again. I didn't know when to expect "her", as I just had a baby and my body isn't exactly regular yet. Let me know how YOUR week went and if you were diligent. - Natalie
