Nearly two years ago I began my life-changing journey with the 6WBM plan. As of today, I have lost 150 pounds and I have never been happier! I was sitting at home on a Sunday morning in early March 2005 skipping church because I had nothing to wear that fit. Then I saw the infomercial we have all become so familiar with. I was 28 years old, 311 pounds, and felt like my life was spiraling out of control. I had just found out the company I had been with for nearly 10 years was eliminating my position and the thought of interviewing terrified me. What would I wear? Will they be able to look past my weight and see me for the great person/employee I know I am? Everything seemed uncertain. When I saw the infomercial during my morning channel surfing, I thought to myself, "I might actually be able to do that." So, I picked up the phone and ordered. I had never been successful with a program I ordered from an infomercial, so I still had a bit of skepticism when I received my package in the mail. I honestly didn't take my exact measurements or before pictures the day I started because I didn't think my pattern of failure would change this time either. However, I was going to give it a valiant effort and see what happened. March 23, 2005 was my start date and the first week I lost nine pounds. From then on, the weight just fell off. I was loosing 20 pounds a month for the first four months and had lost 100 pounds by October. It was hard for me to initially make a goal because I had never been a weight I could look back on as "my perfect weight." So, I consulted with my doctor and decided to start with a goal of 170. I now weigh 160 and I am ten pounds lighter than my original goal weight. Day-to-day activities that most people take for granted, now bring me more pleasure than I could ever express. Being able to shop in "normal" stores, going to amusement parks knowing I will fit on the rides, or even bending down to tie my shoes without having to first take a deep breath are amazing to me. People who have never battled a weight problem take things like this for granted on a daily basis. I don't. I have been there and now I know I will never go back. For the first time in my life I feel like I am truly living life!

If anybody is reading this and feeling discouraged for any reason, get your mind back in the game and just do it. The program works! You can't think in terms of having a hundred or more pounds to loose, but instead just take one day at a time and one pound at a time. Make smaller goals along your own personal journey, right them down, and achieve them. As you start to see the results you get more and more motivated to keep going. If I can do it, I promise anyone can!

I just had to pop in here for a quick note. I started this program in November...I lost 26 pounds the first six weeks...that's including gaining 6 ounces during Thanksgiving week...and then I just stopped. Christmas came and I never got back on the plan. I did manage to lose a few more pounds and then stayed right at a 30 pound loss for two months. I just started again on Monday of this week...in the first 3 days I have lost 7 pounds. You are right...this program does work...you just have to "get your mind in the game and just do it."

Thank you for sharing your story with the rest of us. You are certainly an inspiration to those of us that are still plugging away at it. By the way...your pictures are awesome...thanks again for sharing.

Hi Rebecca. You look amazing! I am starting out around the same weight you started so you have now become my inspiration! You look really beautiful and it shows you feel the same way. My husband and I both are doing 6wbmo together and we love it! He lost 15lbs the first week and I lost 9lbs so we are very determined. We live in Palm Harbor, FL so it's nice to know someone on here practically neighbors! Congradulations and enjoy your new you. I will keep checking in. Ciao!

Rebecca, you look amazing! I wish that I could have had this program when I was you age; I could have avoided many problems (health related) but I thank God that I found it when I did. You are proof that one doesn't have to be a size 2 or whatever the idea that society holds up, to be in shape and healthy.

Rebecca~ I read your story last night, and I thought I would wait a day to post, I was thinking you would probably be the next SSOM. Sure enough!!!!! And I wanted to respond to you in your shining moment!!!
Frankly you look fantastic, you totally don't look like the same gal, although you can see in your earlier photos the inner beauty that you have.
I'm totally excited that you were able to reach your goal and know what an accomplished feeling that is. It's a great feeling to not think, would have, could have, shoulda have, you've done it. The fun part and I mean that as a pun, is finding out what works for you at staying there.
Congrats on being such a great role model and inspiration to hundreds of people. Make it a great year. Edited for typos!

Rebecca, Your pics are so inspiring!!! I am crying reading your story. I have been on the program for 3 wks. now and I totally cheated yesterday. I am so disappointed in myself. I have no intension of quitting. Today is a new day and I am back on track. Did you ever cheat? If so, how did it affect your results? It is my hope to inspire others like you have me.
Thank you for your post. I know I needed it!
    You look so awesome, congratulations!!!!

Dear Lord...we are all joining together and asking for the strength to not indulge in food for emotional/worldly reasons...we ask that you fill our hearts and minds so that we can find peace with whatever is confronting us so that the food will have no purpose in our lives Lord...except to sustain a healthy body. We love you dear Lord...and praise you for all that you are to us...and we ARE remorseful that we have not turned to you as we should have. We thank you for giving us our miraculous bodies and we want to glorify you by taking care of ourselves and living the life that you have planned for us. Give us the strength to support eachother...and help us to look to you throughout our days for encouragement and guidance. In Jesus name we pray.....AMEN!

    Hello Rebecca,

You are such an inspiration. I am also a Type A. I feel like I now have a vision of how I will look when I hit goal!
It has been a long time since I was my goal weight.

I have been in training for a half marathon as an additional way of staying motivated. But you are going to be one of my motivational tools!

Thanks so much for allowing your story to be told!

Wow! Congratulations on surpassing your goal. You look fabulous and I can almost see your happiness and self-confidence glowing in the recent pictures. Your mention of taking a big breath before doing up your shoes was familiar to me.

I'm half way to my goal and have been 'dancing' back and forth around the same weight for about 3 months ... I've been searching for a little extra motivation to get me moving again. Looking at success stories like yours, and remembering to do it one day at a time will certainly help.
    Thank you!
