Dear Prospective Students:
It is my honor to inform you that you have been accepted to New Body University. We are delighted to find so many qualified applicants. As a student at NBU, you will find fine living accommodations, experienced advisors, and friends from around the world. But more importantly you’ll be receiving a first rate education. Regardless of your degree track (6WBMO or SMART), you’ll learn all you need to know to make this life style change a permanent one.
We have high academic standards and we expect all our students to attend class (post often), participate in classroom projects and assignments (challenges), and most importantly maintain excellent grade point averages (earn your credits). We also require that our staff attend continuing education classes (stay on plan too) to ensure that we always have the best and the brightest. Each student should have their textbooks (6WBMO black book or SMART workbook) and study it regularly. We want all our students to do their best and set a goal to be listed on the Honor Roll each week.
Your Resident Advisors, Marinerfan23 and BackAtLast, will be here shortly. RUSH week begins May 26th and you will begin earning your credits on that day. On behalf of the faculty and staff of NBU, I welcome you. Please note that an official copy of the Student Handbook is enclosed (see below).

Student Handbook
As a new student at New Body University, there are a number of rules and guidelines of which you need to be very familiar.
1. Everyone following the 6WBMO, SMART plan, or who is Living Lean is accepted for admission into this University game. If you have any medical modifications (doctor suggested changes to either the food or exercise portion) please report them to your RA via PM.
2. This semester’s schedule begins with enrollment starting May 23rd followed by Move In starting May27th. Students begin to earn credits during RUSH Week which kicks off on June1st. Enrollments will go through the end of Week 4 (June28th). Credits will be earned through July 12th and Final credits are to be reported by students ON July 13th.
3. Conference assignments are made on a regional basis.
4. You will be earning academic credits for following the 6WBMO or SMART plan guidelines (food—7, water—7, accelerated fat loss—5, and body sculpting—2). You will report your credits each week (Sunday through Saturday) by Midnight Central time Monday evenings. Each student should have their textbooks (6WBMO black book or SMART workbook) and study it regularly. We want all our students to do their best and set a goal to be listed on the Honor Roll each week. Those students who earn 100% of possible individual credits (21) each week will be listed on the Provost’s List. Those students who earn 90% (19-20) of individual credits each week will be listed on the Dean’s List. Those students who earn 80% (17-18) of individual credits each week will be listed on the Honorable Mention List. All students who are on the honor roll will add the appropriate icon to their signature. Students who fail to achieve a minimum of 60% (13) of possible individual credits in a week will be sent to Study Hall. Students in Study Hall will be assigned a tutor (someone who has had some success to buddy with) during their study hall period. If they are able to bring their grades back up the following week they will no longer be required to attend Study Hall. If a student is in Study Hall for two consecutive weeks, additional support will be offered.
5. You’ll also be tracking your inch losses as described in your plan. You will report this information with beginning stats, with week 3 stats, and with final stats. Your Resident Advisor will have more information for your regarding this.
6. There will be one thread for each dorm. You are allowed to visit all threads, but attend class (post) only in your own dorm’s thread. You may post all the motivation, encouragement, support, etc. Anything you would like to post that is from any other thread should be done so with full credit to the author via quotes, etc.
7. You are allowed to have excused absences from class but you need to clear it with your Resident Advisor prior to the absence. Your Resident Advisor will go over the details with you in your dorm.
8. In an effort to ensure that all recipes posted are on-plan and that we are providing our students with only the best advice and information we are no longer going to allow students to post recipes in the dorms that have not yet been approved by Provida. Having your recipe approved is a simple process. You can submit it via email it directly to recipes@provida.com. This should be done only by the person who created or discovered the recipe and not forwarded by a dorm chef, RA, or anyone else. Once you’ve had your recipe approved, then you’re welcome to share it with your dorm mates, etc. As always, students are allowed to post recipes they discover in the Recipe Exchange (or post the link to the recipe) but those found in the Makeover America Cookbook are not to be shared online. If you are sharing a recipe from an outside source, please include that source so that proper credit can be given. Even if you have made some minor tweaks to the original recipe, we still need to cite the source. We hope these guidelines will help you and your fellow students get the most from this experience.

Facilities Tour
New Body University has a host of great places for the students, faculty and staff to use for gathering information and maximizing the game experience.
NBU 101—The NBU Entrance Course This is a place where potential students can go to learn how to post, edit, and otherwise navigate the Provida Forums.
NBU09 Intersession--Provost's Office This is the official administration office. Any questions or concerns you have about NBU can be posted here.
NBU09 Intersession--Registrar's Office This is the place to go for enrollments and dorm assignments. It should be the first stop for new students on campus.
NBU09 Intersession--Food Services Office
This is the place to post recipes and ask questions related to the food portion of the 6WBMO and SMART programs. Students from all dorms are welcome to post here anytime.
NBU09 Intersession--Quad
This is a general meeting place for student throughout campus—just a relaxed place for open conversation and fun. Students from all dorms are welcome to post here anytime.
NBU09 Intersession—Fat Burning and Body Sculpting Bulletin Board This is the place where exercise and fitness related tips and information will be available to everyone on campus. The primary focus of the Locker Room will be on fitness and well being using the principles of the 6WBMO. Information on different exercises, cardio and how to live a more active lifestyle will be discussed.
NBU—Residence Halls This is where the fun is. Students are assigned to resident halls. They are not allowed to post in halls other than their own. They can “snoop” in others to get ideas, etc. but not post there.

Welcome! You’ve arrived at NBU Summer '09 InterSession. I am Michele/BackAtLast, your Co-Resident Advisor (RA) for Intersession along with Jody/Marinerfan. I’m so excited to be here with you all and look forward to a great term. Let’s start this term out right. We're here to help you get to Living Lean, or closer than you are right now. I ask nothing of you that I am not ready, willing and able to do myself. A little about me. My name BackAtLast, is because I am back at last after a hiatus from 6WBMO. I originally lost 82# and somehow, I found some of what I lost. I have made a committment to get back to Living Lean. This time, I will not lose the pounds. I will give them away to a needy person or shed them. I will NOT find them again. I am back on track and will be as accountable to you as I hope that you will be to me. NBU is a great way to get motivated, stay motivated, meet new friends and shed some unwanted pounds along the way. I’m here to help you however I can. You can always reach me here in the dorm or by PM (private message). Let’s do this together. Now that I have chatted your ear off, let’s find out about each one of you. A “Get To Know You” survey will follow this post. Please take the time to fill it out and read all about your new dorm mates. I look forward to getting to know all of you and having a great semester together
Intersession works a bit differently than a regular semester. The main differences are that there is not a requirement to post every 3 days but I have found the hard way that you will get more out of NBU the more that you interact with our Dorm and the rest of the campus. Summer is harder to stay OP for a lot of people. Stick with us and we will all surf the waves to our goals.
The other is that we will be keeping stats, but there will be no standings from the Student Records Office. Icons, however, will be in abundance!

Welcome everyone to Northwest Conference of Intersession! Michele (backatlast) and I are excited to be your CO-RA's this term!
We see lots of familiar faces and some new faces too!
We are excited to help you reach your goals.
My name is Jody (marinerfan23) and I'm from Southern Idaho. I am recommitting hard core to the plan and actually getting my rear to the gym! I have a new gym and a personal trainer and every 8 weeks we are going to reevaluating my progress! I know in my heart I had to add the cardio portion which has been the hardest for me but I'm finding I actually enjoy it and miss it on days I don't do it! Weird eh?
I'm so glad you are all here. If you need anything just shout! There are alot of veterans here amongst us which is great! We will have jobs posted soon and we hope you will take the time to review them and take one.
I will try to have a schedule each week of what we are going to do. Since this is intersession it is ICONpalooza and will we be earning lots and lots of those little guys!!!!
While intersession is fund and laid back, we do need to remember why we are here, to support each other and reach out goals! Together we can do this!
Again welcome and I look forward to getting to know all of you!!!!!!

Below is a list of the jobs we need volunteers for – We have lots of seasoned dories (unsalted, of course) that may want to help out! The success of our dorm depends on everyone's participation! Think about what interests you, keep in mind that some of these are not daily jobs, so may be more suited to you if you don't have regular internet access, but really want to help out.
Please think of 2 or 3 that you'd be willing to do and list them in order of preference. Let me know if you are willing to take on more than one job, some of them will not require much work and can easily be doubled up with other jobs! PM me or Jody what positions you would like - first in gets the job!!!
Please remember, that being part of NBU and the Northwest Conference means that you are part of a team, and we need everyone to just do a little bit so there is not a huge burden on just a few - and I know that helping out is also a great way to keep yourself motivated and inspired to work hard. This is not compulsory, but we would greatly appreciate your help so and it’s a great way to participate and get involved.
Dorm Chef - Provide new on-plan recipes by searching Provida boards, keeping in mind our new posting rule for recipes. Bring back news and information from the Food Services thread and post to the dorm.
News Reporter - Post a weekly recap of what is happening in our dorm in the news thread. For the news we also like to post our achievements, successes, celebrations, and whatever else is going on in here in the great Northwest. This is a great job...and if you want the chance to really know and bond with other students, this is for you!
Dorm Snoop (spys) - Scout around the other dorms for some interesting info. It could be related to fitness, motivational quotes, and humor, whatever. The only two rules are NO POSTING IN ANYBODY ELSE'S DORM and GIVE CREDIT DUE TO THE PERSON YOU ARE QUOTING!
Hall Monitor - Checks for daily attendance and PM's me 1st thing Monday morning. I give perfect attendance icons on Monday for the previous week. Stats will still be due for reporting but requirements are a bit more lax. This may be time-consuming, because of different time-zones, but fun and will certainly help you get to know everyone!
Personal Trainer - Research and provide helpful fitness and health tips and articles. The NBU Cardio & Toning Room is a fantastic resource for this!
Cheerleader - Watch for new avatars earned, birthdays, anniversaries, reaching personal goals, etc. Provide encouragement and moral support to all dorm members.
Motivational Speaker/Jokester - Provide inspirational and motivational postings that encourage our spirits and minds! This can be done through posting a daily cheer, cartoon, graphics, etc. Fun job! and one that makes a HUGE difference to the attitude of the dorm!
Class Clown - Provide jokes to keep us in stitches! This can be done through posting a daily cartoon or graphic.
Keep in mind that we are a team here and support each other in all ways. Part of that includes helping others in the dorm, but we do not want you to feel burdened by it. If you accept a job, and find that you are unable to do it some days (because we know that life happens!), just give a shout out and one of us will gladly fill in for you. Be creative with your job and have fun!

Are you unemployed because you have lost your job or because you are a stay at home mom? This economy is tough. My son just graduated from college and it's ugly out there!
I see you have trouble with being motivated. I must say that I have that same problem. I recently joined a gym and it has helped immensely. I go with a girl from my bowling league and some co-workers. It makes it easier and makes me accountable.
I love to read too and wish I had more time. Have you read anything good lately?

To make a long story as short as possible, I met DH about 5 yrs ago, he left everything he was comfortable with to be with me cause I had a house and a good job but was so overwellmed that we decided if I quite my job and he went back to what he was doing we could afford for me to finally finish my college and we hoped to open a business of our own....well things didnt go as planned and he took a different route which with this economy is a good thing because it is so stable and good benefits but I ended up taking a job to pay for my schooling (flagging) which was fine for a while and I went a year and half doing great with my school (even on honor roll) but things got slow with flagging and I couldn't afford it so school is on hold and since I had been laid off from flagging for nearly four months I quite to get my 401k so we could keep from losing our house which still hasn't come in yet. I have been activly looking for an office or warehouse job for the past 5 monthes but to no luck.
My son is turning 20 in a couple months and I am hoping he is sincere about finally turning his life around so I am trying to back him as much as I can.
My daughter is 11 and even though I have custody of her, she has been living with my parents for this school year because things were kinda crazy with buying a house and my work schedule and all so I wanted to make sure she had a stable environment for the school year. I am really looking forward to next month when she is out of school and with me all the time instead of weekends.
As for books, mostly I just trade out alot at the library...I love western romance, Ann Rule and VC Andrews the most but anything to take me somewhere other than here is relaxing.
I have tried joining gyms twice but without much luck. The only way they work for me is if I have someone doing it with me and that hasn't happened for a long time. I do love working out alone and walking though so I am working towards that and really hoping to get the wii fit since we have a wii and it sounds like something I could keep up with.

I am so glad to be back with 6WBMO! I was doing great and got close to 200 pounds for my oldest daughter's wedding in 2007!
