Once upon a time ago there were two best friends, Jen and Jodie. One day Jen called Jodie and said she was going on vacation and needed a swimsuit. Jodie always dreaded going clothes shopping and especially for swimsuits. You see, Jodie was very overweight, over 100 lbs overweight, while Jen was just right. Jodie did go shopping with Jen because she wanted to spend time with her best friend but she was secretly miserable the whole time. She wanted to be trying on swimsuits with Jen instead of watching her try on two pieces and cute little shirts and shorts. Finally the shopping torture had ended and Jodie and Jen hugged and parted ways.
When Jodie got home she sat down and she cried and cried, frustrated with her weight and all the disappointments that came with it and then she got mad. Mad with herself for letting her weight get the better of her and for once again feeling sorry for herself without doing something about it. It wasn't as if she'd never tried to lose weight. There were countless pills, shakes and programs that she had tried but nothing worked and so she had resigned herself to being overweight. There was only one program she had bought and never even opened because in a fit of desperation and resignation she threw it in the closet and never looked at it again. That program was Michael Thurmond's 6WBMO. She made a decision then and there, she was going to give this program a go and if it didn't work she wasn't ever going to spend another cent on losing weight. She sat down with her black book, cards and video and put her program together. The next day she made a menu and went grocery shopping. The day after that was a Sunday, she thought a new week and the start to what she hoped would be a happy ending. At the end of her first week she'd lost 7 lbs and she was very happy but still skeptical and thought " Okay great first week but these things always work well in the beginning but usually don't pan out" As the weeks went by the pounds just melted away at the rate of 2 to 3 lbs a week. Day by day she adjusted to the food and meal times and drank her water. The exercises were a bit slower in coming along because she was so out of shape but in time they too became second nature. She stuck with the 6WBMO program through the initial withdraw from salt, sugar and the other additives she no longer ate, feeling like her bladder was going to explode, exercising even when it hurt so bad she cried and lost sleep, and even through a stall that lasted almost 2 months. You might ask why anyone would do that. It's simple, because she saw results, not only were the pounds melting off according to the scale, her clothes seemed to be getting bigger by the day, she felt better with her backaches and headaches all but disappearing along with other ailments that were brought on by her weight and she had tons of energy. The weeks turned into months and suddenly 14 mths after she had begun the 6WBMO program she believed she was the proverbial ugly duckling turned swan. She really did get her happy ending.
Well folks, that is my story and I hope by sharing, it helps someone out there believe that they can do this!!! Is it easy? Not a chance!!! Is it worth all the hard work and time and effort? Yes!!!! In April of 2006 when I started this program I was 4'11 and weighed 226 lbs. I wore a size 22 women's jeans and 22/24 women's shirts. Today I am 3 lbs away from goal, I have lost 98 lbs and countless inches, I now wear 4 misses' jeans (or a size 9 in juniors) and med/lg misses' shirts (XL in juniors) and I weigh 129 lbs. That makes me about the same size I was in my teens. Not only that but I have more energy and stamina. I'm doing things I wouldn't/couldn't do when I was overweight. I play basketball with my kids, go for long walks, I go tanning, and shopping has turned into something I love to do and other things we take for granted. My husband has his wife back (actually he has a wife he's never had ,,, I was 174 lbs when we met 13 yrs ago) and my kids are loving their new energetic Mom. I still catch myself in a mirror or window and say Wow that's me!!!! I have more confidence than ever and am so proud of myself (my friends are getting tired of hearing it LOL)
Anytime someone asks "Wow you lost 97 lbs in 14 mths!!! How did you do that?" I tell them and anyone else who will listen about MT's 6WBMO and what it's done for me. I mean what better way to show that this program really works? LOOK AT ME!!!! I and many others like me are living proof. If you are looking for a quick fix, I wish you luck because my friends it doesn't exist. If what you are looking for is something that will work for you as long as you work hard at it, the 6WBMO is the program for you. It allows you to lose weight without starving in a slow and steady manner that your body can handle. The exercises are low impact, in fact many chiropractors prescribe them for their patients, and easy enough for anyone to do. In the end results and being able to maintain those results are what is important. With a lot of other diets and programs they leave you hanging and on your own in the end. Which results in frustration and most likely you will gain the weight back. With the 6WBMO they support you even when you are done losing the weight and you learn how to keep the weight off with the Living Lean part of the program. This program is so inclusive and thorough; it's practically fail-proof when followed correctly.
In closing I would like to thank a few people. Thanks first of all to Michael Thurmond for working so hard to develop this wonderful program and then sharing it with all of us!!! You may never know just how happy you've made so many of us. To Delores and Gail thanks to you both for working so hard to help us all with our questions and concerns and for never once failing to answer any question I had. Both of you work hard to make sure we all get what we need from the program. My hat is off to you ladies!!! I would like to thank my husband and children for supporting me and loving me. Especially my husband for making sure I always have the money to buy the groceries (not to mention how many times I've had to buy new clothes) etc, I need to continue this program and for being my cheering section. And to my children for cheering me on and telling me how proud they are. Last but never least all my ladies in the butt kicking forum and my friends in real life for always being there with a kind word, support and a kick in the pants when I needed it. Without all these people I wouldn't be where I am today.

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Now that you are very close to goal, are you gonna go swimsuit shopping with Jen? I was searching the success stories for some motivation and yours definitely did the trick!!!! I've been staled by ICK lately and I'm determined to get back up and not stop until goal. You look amazing!!! WAY TO GO!

Thank you for giving me that hand to get up!

Nik you are very welcome hun ,,, ick is an awful thing and it rears its head around here often with 5 kids in the house BUT I am to the point where i KNOW what will happen if i eat it and well for one thing ,,, I don't mind the maintaining part of this program but the reduction phase was hard and i don't ever want to go there again ,,, and two my food doesn't control me ... it is nothing more than fuel to lose weight ,,, good thing we have some inventive people at provida and in the recipe forum that make losing weight easier with great ideas and all those recipes in forums. Hunt around in there hun my guess is that in the dessert section you will find an OP alternative to the ick .. good luck ,, lemme know how you are doing

ThornyRose you are definitely a swan. You have done wonderfully and congratulations on being our SSOM. I love reading these stories because they really let others know this can be done. BTW you didn't mention what size swimsuit you are in now.

Wow, I love your fairytale best of all because IT'S TRUE!!! I'm 5'9" almost of foot taller than you and carrying around all that weight its a miracle how "strong" we should be huh!! Anyway, I definitely relate to  a few things you said like the quote above, alot of people are telling me to "stop" losing because I look too thin "anorexic" but they don't get that I'm eating & exercising now to build muscle (using food to maintain weight and develop properly) and I definitely look better now at 41 (next week) than I did in my teens, 20's or 30's - I have swimsuit issues, tank top issues, shorts issues... well you said it, this is the best ´program to lose and keep it off and get healthy - congratulations and continued success, hugs, Lilia

Hi Jody, great story of success.  I was on this plan for 5 months and lost 70 lbs.  Then i started maintaining to see how that would go.  It went well until I got stressed out about some serious issues I was facing and I went to an old "friend" icky fatening food.  I gained 15 lbs, but have relost 13 of it and I am on my way to my goal.  Your story is very inspiring.  I haven't been posting in the forums lately but I have been reading success stories to get my self a boost of motivation.  It helps when you see others' success.  CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!!  Your success is truly amazing.

    Congratulations, Jodie!

Thanks so much for telling it like it is!  I'd been on this plan before in 03' and lost most of my weight....  then let life get the better of me and started to gain some.  About a year ago I found out I had thyroid cancer and eventually had my thyroid removed.  I'm on the road to recovery and better health again.  My body is adjusting to the thyroid supplements and I'm starting to slowly see small changes.  It can be so frustrating, but reading your story has given me a new boost, new spirit, and inspiration to continue on.

Thank you for sharing and inspiring all of us still on the journey!!!
