About a year and half ago on February 1, 2002 I started "The Journey". It is my weight loss journey and how it has changed my life.
I, like a lot of folks, have been over weight all my life. I can look back at 2nd or 3rd grade pictures and see it. After trying all the popular diets like Weight Watchers, Slimfast, Dexatrim, Nutri-System, low and no carb plans and plain ol' starvin to death I had finally given up. I had resigned myself to the fact that I would be heavy for the rest of my life. The day that I saw Michael Thurmond's 6 Week Body Makeover changed my life. It all made sense to me! No gimmicks, no shakes or bars to eat or pills to take. I didn't have to buy "his" food. I could cook my own healthy meals! It was time to change my life - I weighed more at this point than any of the three times I was nine months pregnant.
I lost 5 pounds in my first week! I knew this way of eating could change my life forever. As a Pampered Chef Consultant, I was constantly faced with high fat, high carb foods either conducting Kitchen Shows, training new Consultants or attending meetings. Because of all the information I received with my plan, I learned a lot about making better food choices. Before the 6WBMO I had no idea what a protein or a carb was. Now, I know what will work to rev up my metabolism and what to avoid.
Here I am a year later. I have lost 86 pounds and a total of 85.75 inches off my body forever! My waist went from 41" around down to 27 1/2" - that's over a foot off my mid-section! I went from a size 20/22 to a size 6! I am so thankful for this plan every day. My life has changed dramatically. I am so much happier, healthier and more peaceful. My back and neck don't hurt anymore and I sleep better at night. Some of the people in my community don't even recognize me until I say "hi". I actually don't fear those mirrors and store front windows in the mall anymore because I finally like myself and what is looking back at me!
This program works and I'm living proof!

    Jlynne...
Thanks for sharing your story! You look fabulous!! I'm so happy for you! It's stories like yours (and Annie's!) that motivated me to go forth with this program too. I may not be losing as fast as some others, but I AM losing and am thrilled about that! I like this healthy lifestyle, and someday hope to have a story like yours to share!!
    Congratulations!! You're an inspiration!
    Be well...

I agree with you, the program just makes sense. No gimicks, no weird 'food' to eat, just regular stuff. No excessive exercise (I hate aerobics!). It just makes so much sense, it's easy to follow when you decide that you are ready, and I can so easilly see myself living this way for the rest of my life.

Wow - what kind words you all have! I know each and everyone of you can be up there in future months. Hang in there and keep on plan. This program is truly a gift especially to those of us who had figured we'd be "fat" forever. See, there is life after "fat". LOL
I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone!

    Jackie,
Congratulations! I am so impressed with your accomplishment!
I am exactly like you - always been the fat girl. Well, on my way to being the not-so-fat girl! I can't wait to get to 85 lbs myself. I feel like this program is a 'no brainer' - once I got started, I feel like it is impossible to fail because I am so motivated by my weekly results. And all I do is walk!
Thanks again for sharing. You look wonderful and please know that you (and ctdan too!) are an inspiration for those of us who are still losing!
    37 lbs and counting...

Congrats on being "cover girl". You deserve it.
When I met you over a year ago, and you told me that you had lost 30 pounds, I thought wow, how does she do that being a pampered shef Consultant and all. But you have great control and with a plan like this, who wouldn't be succesfull.
Anyway, good job, and hey I hear good things come in threes, so maybe that tummy tuck is just around the corner!:D
Can't wait to see you in the infomercial.

    Hey Jlynne,
You look wonderful :D It's hard enough doing this plan working in an office that is "Friday pot-luck happy", I can't imagine being constantly tempted by delicious treats like you were day in and day out at your job! You definitely have my admiration for this accomplishment. I know many people are going to read your story and think "if she can do this faced with day to day temptations like that, I can do this too!" I'm forever getting 'inspired again' and this is one of those moments. Thanks for motivating me :D Again, the new you is amazing, many congrats on the new healthier you!
