    WELCOME TO THE MONARCH CHAPEL

Susan and I are pleased to announce the opening of The Monarch Chapel. Here is a quiet place for Monarchs and our guests to come for moments of meditation, Scripture reading, prayer, contemplation, and mutually supportive sharing.

Lisa, our Monarch Chaplain, will be here often with special words of devotion, support and spiritual insight.

All are welcome to enjoy The Chapel and to share the spiritual side of their Lifestyle Change.

Our wish is to lay aside our "denominational" and "theological" differences for all to enjoy The Chapel. May we come together to focus and share our spiritual needs and support each other.

Thanks to Susan for the wonderful pictures of our Chapel--their unique simplicity and quiet mood is the perfect setting for our contemplations.

Once again, welcome to all--Monarchs and guests. May God bless this special place and all who visit.

2 Corinthians 10:5 says we can pull down any strongholds by,,,
"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought
    to the obedience of Christ."

This verse has brought my RESOLVE back.
It is my responsibility to take my thoughts captive,
when I'm tempted to eat off plan.

When the thought of eating off plan comes into my head...
It is my obligation to say out loud,
"In the name of Jesus, I will eat healthy, on plan foods!"

I know this is going to help me this first week of 2007,
as I am Beginning Again to eat 100% on plan to reach goal weight.

May the Lord Bless you as you
hear His Word and see His Work in me and others.

Susan and I are reading the "First Place" series published by Gospel Light. Some of the thoughts and ideas presented here are gathered from this Bible Study Series. Please feel free to share your thoughts as well.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation, the old has gone,
    the new has come!
    2 Corinthinas 5:17

God knows you as no one else does, including your innermost thoughts and feelings. Call on Him each day and let Him tell you the great and wondrous things He has planned for you that day.

As we enter 2007, the thoughts of goals and new results from new attitudes and actions tend to be foremost on our minds. Let's take a moment to think about our goals, for our PLAN and our LIFESTYLE CHANGE.

What are the goals you have for this week? Ask God to increase your faith and to help you attain your goals according to His plan.

"Thank you Heavenly Father for Your daily presence in my life. Father God, I give this day to You, for I know Your plans for me are for my good."

    Kathleen and Susan,

Thank you for this lovely new addition to our Colony!
There have been times recently when I've been so frantic with trying to 'get it all together' and preparing to start up OP again, that I've lost my true compass, My Heavenly Father.

I know you both know how important my Arizona church family was to me and being away from them has made me so homesick for them. I've searched for a new Church here in the Chicago area, but none of them fell like "home". This will be a wonderful place for me to come and reflect on what my journey should be like and to take it to Him in prayer.

How interesting that I happen to be watching "Prince of Egypt", the animated movie about Moses, right now. These songs have been brought tears to my eyes, reminding me of what I know and believe.

My wish for everyone who visits this thread is for a wonderful journey.

    Love and Hugs,,
    Nina

    Good Evening!!
I'm back from vacation... boy is it sooooo good to be home!!
I will go ahead and admit this now but I was not on plan while I was gone. I'll be weighing myself in the morning and reporting my gain then. LOL
But as I've been catching up on posts and doing some reflecting of MY PLAN... I decided to read some scripture tonight and one little verse just POPPED out at me.

    Psalm 20:4
" May He grant your hearts desires and make all your plans succeed."

God knows my hearts desire to lose this weight and I know I will succeed... I need to put my faith and trust in HIM! God WANTS to grant my desires and make my plans succeed!! I just think that is soooo AWESOME!!

From now on... it's YOU and ME, God!! I WILL SUCCEED WITH YOU!!

Prayer By an Unknown Confederate Soldier

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve,
I was made weak, that I might humbly obey.

I asked for health, that I might do greater things,
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.

I asked for riches, that I might be happy,
I was given poverty, that I might be wise.

I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men,
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God.

I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life,
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.

I got nothing that I asked for,
But everything I had hoped for.

Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am among all men, most richly blessed.

    Jeremiah 29:11-14
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.
Then, you will call upon me and come and pray to me,
and I will listen to you.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

For I reckon that sufferings of this present time
are not worthy to be compared
with the glory which shall be revealed to us.

    Romans 8:18

Jimmy was fascinated by the cocoon. He watched the caterpillar work on its new home for hours.

Everyday he came in to look at the cocoon. When the monarch butterfly finally emerged, Jimmy was delighted.

God works some amazing miracles in nature. It shouldn't be so hard to believe that He will work such miracles in the lives of His people.

Losing weight might not seem like a miracle, but for those who struggle with their weight, it often feels as if only a miracle will suffice.

If God can transform a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly, He certainly can help us when all we want is to lose weight.

    Today's thought:

I am one of God's miracles,
and He will help me be my best!

Good Morning! The Chapel is wonderful! Thank you so much Kath, Susan, and Lisa for starting this thread and all that you are putting into it!

I'm big on church traditions and yesterday was Epiphany. I looked up several pictures of the Holy Land and was going to post this gorgeous one of the Garden of Gethsemane, but it wouldn't post on my message.

So instead I will post one of my favorite prayers from a "Book of Prayers" that my sister () gave me. It is a Benediction, and I love it! I write it in the front of my planner each year and in the front of all my journals. I have it posted at my desk and I try to remember it every day.

You have been reminded that Jesus Christ is our Lord
and that you are God's servant.
    You are loved;
    you are forgiven;
    you are empowered
and now you are sent to live as God's faithful one. Amen

    WHO IS GOD?

God is Lord Almighty ... Omnipotent King ... Lion of Judah ... Rock of Ages ... Prince of Peace ... King of Kings ... Lord of Lords ... Provider ... Protector ... Paternal Leader ... Ruling Lord ... and Reigning King of all the universe. He is Father ... He is Helper ... He is Guardian ... and He is God. He is the First and Last ... the Beginning and the End. He is the Keeper of creation and the Creator of all He keeps. He is the Architect of the universe and the Manager of all times. He always was, He always is, and He always will be. Unmoved, unchanged, undefeated, and never undone.

He was bruised and brought healing. He was pierced and eased pain. He was persecuted and bought freedom. He was dead and bought life. He is risen and brings power. He reigns and brings peace. The world can't understand Him, the armies can't defeat Him, the schools can't explain Him, and the leaders can't ignore Him. Herod couldn't kill Him, the Pharisees couldn't confuse Him, the people couldn't hold Him. Nero couldn't crush Him, Hitler couldn't silence Him, the New Age can't replace Him, and Donahue can't explain Him away.

He is Light, Love, Longevity, and Lord. He is Goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God. He is Holy, Righteous, Mighty, Powerful, and Pure. His ways are right, His word is eternal, His will is unchanging, and His mind is on me. He is my Redeemer, He is my Savior, He is my guide, and He is my peace. He is my joy, He is my comfort, He is my Lord, and He rules my life. I serve Him because His bond is love, His burden is light, and His goal for me is abundant life. I follow Him because He is the Wisdom of the Wise, the Power of the Powerful, the Ancient of Days, the Ruler of Rulers, the Leader of Leaders, the Overseer of the over comers, and the Sovereign Lord of all that was and is and is to come. And, if that seems impressive, how about this? His goal is a relationship with ME!

He will never leave me, never forsake me, never mislead me, never forget me, never overlook me, and never cancel my appointment in His appointment book. When I fall, He lifts me up. When I fail, He forgives. When I am weak, He is strong. When I am lost, He is the way. When I am afraid, He is my courage. When I stumble, He steadies me. When I am hurt, He heals me. When I am broken, He mends me. When I am blind, He leads me. When I am hungry, He feeds me. When I face trials, He is with me. When I face persecution, He steels me. When I face problems, He comforts me. When I face loss, He provides for me. When I face death, He carries me Home.

He is everything for everybody, everywhere, every time, and every way. He is God. He is faithful, I am His, and He is mine. And, here is the reason I feel so secure: God said it, I believe it, and that settles it.

God is in control, I am on His side, and that means all is well with my soul.

    Hallelujah!

    Bob

Good evening to all in the Monarch Chapel. I wanted to post a "housekeeping" word to everyone.

Please feel free to use the Chapel Graphics Susan did for us. If you are posting about your "Moment in the Monarch Chapel" or would like to post about "Prayer Support Among Friends," you are most welcome to use the great "headers" Susan and I are using. If you need help DOING that, please email or PM us and we will give you some tips.

Of course, if you have your OWN graphics to use, feel free to use those here as well. This is YOUR thread, one we hope you are COMFORTABLE in and use often.
