I have been on the program since 9-17-01.  I have been able to lose 78 pounds and 75.5 inches since then.   I have struggled a lot like most of you.  Like so many of you, I have gotten discouraged many many times because most of us are emotional eaters and we realize that these are issues that have underlying reasons.    The only advice I have been able to give, is to just take one day at a time. Stay on the groups and the forum for support on a day to day basis.  I find that when I start slipping, I stop posting.  When I come back to the groups, I am able to get back on track quicker. I have not been perfect on this plan.  I know that if I had been perfect, I would be closer to goal now.  BUT, I also know that this is a life change, not a diet.  Don't beat yourself up when you fall.  Just get back up and jump back on.   I have been on every diet from Jenny Craig to Slim Fast.  Nothing has worked for me like the MT program.  I have said it a million times...MT is my hero and I am thankful everyday that I found this program.  When I started, it seemed that it would take me forever to get to this point.  Now I look back and see that taking it one day at a time is the only way to get through it. Not only have I lost 78 pounds, I am now at a healthy cholesterol rating and my blood pressure is really great. I couldn't have done this without this program and all of the wonderful support I have had from everyone here at provida and the yahoo groups. Thanks to everyone. Love, Maggie (Edited by Maggie2476 at 12:27 pm on April 26, 2002)

Thank you for your post.  I get frustrated that I can't just wish this weight away. I am learning so much and feeling so good that it is great to see your commitment and perserverence pay off.   The journey itself is the destination sometimes, I guess.  Congratulations.

CONGRATULATIONS, Maggie!!!!!!!!!!!! WAY TO GO!!!!!! I couldn't agree more......take one day at a time.....and if you do cheat, go right back on the program and don't look back........WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that I'm "living lean," friends are asking how I did it and if I get any compensation for referring them....I said no and to be honest, I could not put a price on the knowledge I have gained.....finally being in control of my body and food.....I am amazed every day when I wake up and still have a thin body!!!!!!!!! MT is a genius....

Thanks, Maggie for sharing that...you are certainly right that this is a life plan...and everyday living presents alot of challenges and variables...one has to take it one day at a time and do the best they can. Look what success you have had by doing this...what good would it do for you to have been "perfect", but not learned to handle many different situations and prove to yourself you can continue on without going back to old ways...this is so much more of a success and life change. CONGRATULATIONS and continued success!!

Hi Maggie, It's so good to hear that although you've been incredibly successful, you haven't been perfect.  I just started the program and know that there will be less-than-perfect times ahead (hopefully not too many).  However, I am committed to doing the program and "getting back on the horse." As a pilot once told me, " Pilots don't fly, they make a series of corrections."  I try to keep this in mind for my journey. Best regards, Isis
