I have fought a battle with my weight my entire life. I have tried too many different diets to name (grapefruit and egg diet, liquid shake diet, cabbage soup diet, ugh), I even lost weight with many of them but I always gained it back. Sometime around the beginning of April 2003 my husband saw an infomercial on TV for the Michael Thurmond Six Week Body Make Over, he was impressed by the basics of the plan and called me over to watch it. I watched the end of the infomercial with the attitude of “yeah right” and when I saw the price I didn’t think we could afford it luckily my husband knowing that I was extremely depressed about my weight pressed the issue and told me to go ahead and order it. So I decided ok, one last try at losing weight. I was determined to do the program exactly as outlined so it would be the plans fault if it didn’t work, not mine.
On April 14, 2003 I started something that I now, KNOW, will be my final “diet”. I don’t really look at it as a diet though, more of a lifestyle change. On April 14, 2003, weighing in at 250 pounds (I’m 5' 8"), feeling much older than my 33 years (severe knee pain, ankle pain, back pain and diabetic symptoms), I started what I figured would be just another one of those diets. I was miserable.
One of the first things that made me start to feel more optimistic about the plan was that it included an online support community. I started searching the community to see how people had done on the plan. As I looked I started to see people who had lost large amounts of weight, people who were just like me. I even started talking to some of these people and they became my inspirations and even better than that they became my friends.
The second thing that hit me was that WOW this plan works. The plan is very basic and to me is one of the most nutritionally sound “diets” that I have ever tried. I eat 5 or 6 times a day, get moderate exercise, and drink lots and lots of water. I lost 14 pounds the first week. By the end of my first 6 weeks on the program I had lost 31 pounds. I have continued losing at somewhat of a slower pace but I have now lost 90 pounds in 10 months. In April 2003 I was wearing a size 20 pant that was very tight, now I wear a size 8! I lost 80 inches along the way. I started out with 32-inch thighs and now I have a 32-inch waist. I weigh 160 pounds now and am living lean. Thanks to Michael Thurmond, Provida and the Six Week Body Makeover, I have the keys to living a healthy life for the rest of my life.
This lifestyle change has given me back many things and some new ones. I have a new respect for myself and a confidence that I didn’t know I was capable of. I have been given back my health. I have the chance to be a healthy mom and model good choices to my 4 children. One of my proudest moments came when my 7-year-old daughter put her arms around me and gasped, “Mama, I can put my arms all the way around you.” Believe me I cried buckets of happy tears when that happened. I can keep up with them again. I can help my son practice baseball and my other children practice soccer. We recently took a vacation and I was able to hike and do other active things with my family that I would not have even attempted 10 months ago. Today I even jumped on the trampoline with my daughter. There is no way I would have tried that last year, I would have been terrified. I enjoy shopping again (my husband is worried I like it a little too much) for the first time in my adult life I love trying on clothes.
Today I am so thankful to God that we saw that infomercial. I never would have dreamed that in less than a year I could reach my goal weight, and have a completely different life than the one I was living a year ago. Eating more, exercising less, REALLY does work! Thank you, thank you, thank you, to all of you who have encouraged me, cried with me, and especially laughed with me! You are a huge reason I have had the success that I have, and you know who you are!
    Love ya,
    Happy (DeAun)

    DeAun,
I just checked out your pictures, you look fantastic in your leather pants. Thank you for sharing your heart felt story. I can relate to what you are saying. I never in a million years would think that I would order weight loss product off of an informerical and have it make such an impact in my life. Before I started this program I was on Atkins(this was just the latest fad, have tried just about everything). I weighed 219.8 on June 13, 2003. I lost 25 pounds in 6 months and then played ping pong with 5 pounds, Gain.. loose..gain..lose. I saw the informercial for this product again and ordered it. This is the best thing out there. Everyone that asks what I am doing can't beleive it's from an infomercial. I just tell them that this is the one weight loss progam you can buy from the informercial that WORKS!!! Best of luck reaching your goal.

    Thanks Sue,
When people first started asking me what I was doing and where did I get it, I was a bit embarrased to say I ordered from an infomercial, not anymore. It works too well to be embarrased about where I got it. It really is an infomercial product that is just as promised if not better!
    You are doing awesome! Congratulations

    DeAun,
I am so amazed by your pictures. You've done wonderfully. And, I know what you mean about telling people you bought the program off of an infomercial. I'm getting better at it now.

    Dan,
Thanks, I never thought I'd end up being an inspiration to anyone. You saying that (considering your one of many who inspired me) means alot.
    Karina,
Talk about watching weight go down and avatars go up, you are amazing girl!!!! I agree with you on the shopping discount coupons and I am sure our husbands could easily comiserate! Now I am looking forward to summer so I can go shopping for a whole new summer wardrobe, poor hubby, LOL.
    Cheryl,
Thanks for always being around and so supportive, I appreciate it always.
    Sherris,
It is much easier now to tell people where I got it, but I still get the groans when people find out it is not a magic pill. You are doing awesome keep it up and you'll be at your goal before you realize it.
    Jackie,
I sure hope that my story would help someone make the decision that will change their life. If you get the plan, work the plan, and live the plan, the plan will WORK!!!!
    Therese,
You are doing sooooooo wonderfully. You are an inspiration to many, many people. So close to goal girl, congratulations!
    Love ya,
    Happy (DeAun)

I am so happy to be able to come and see all the posts on here. I see all the sucess that you guys have had and I though small so far have had the same. I have been on it (1 week). When my husband gets to come home from being on active duty with the army, it will be priceless to see his face. He has always treated me like I was a beauty queen, I can only imagine when he sees me thinner. Thanks all of you for being such a motivator for me.
    God Bless,
