What can I do about dry skin or constipation?
The addition to your diet of either a fattier fish such as salmon or flax seed oil may help. Because your body stores the combination of salmon and carb as fat, be sure NOT to eat a carb at meals when you're having salmon. Instead, you may want to have lots of leafy vegetables.
If using flax seed oil, start with 2 teaspoons a day. If necessary, you may use up to 2 tablespoons a day. Unlike eating salmon, you MAY continue to enjoy any carbs called for at meals when you're using flax seed oil. And remember, using flax seed oil is intended as a temporary fix only-- this is not something you should continue on a permanent basis.
Some have found that both white rice and bananas can be constipating. If you are eating a lot of those, then you will want to eliminate them immediately. Brown rice, yams or even steel cut oats are a better carb/fiber choice. Also, plums are high in fiber and a fruit B, which you may want to include. If you are eating a lot of red meat, that too can be constipating. If so, then cut back and use another protein choice.
If constipation is a frequent or recurring problem, then you should consult with your physician. You may also use the occasional fiber supplement, such as Sugar Free Metamucil or psyllium husk from a health food store. You may want to ask your doctor if adding magnesium supplements to your supplementation regimen will help.
One thing I can not stress enough, if one is doing the recommended amount of Fat Burning walking along with the 100 oz. of daily water, constipation will rarely be a complaint, if ever at all! If you are not doing both, then that is the BEST thing you can to to help yourself.
