To be honest, I chucked the only bottle of Mrs. Dash I ever owned. There's way too much going on in each bottle for me to tell you the nuance of either. Here's what's in the onion and herb (I'm not sure if gaiagirl misnamed the product or if onion medley is no longer available):
Onion, garlic, spices (black pepper, sweet chili pepper, parsley, celery
seed, basil, bay, marjoram, oregano, savory, thyme, cayenne pepper,
coriander, cumin, mustard, rosemary), orange peel, natural flavor.
Here's the contents of the table blend:
Onion, spices (black pepper, chili pepper, parsley, celery seed, basil,
bay, marjoram, oregano, savory, thyme, cayenne pepper, coriander, cumin,
mustard, rosemary), garlic, orange peel, carrot, lemon juice powder,
tomato, red bell pepper, citric acid, oil of lemon.
Notice a similarity there? You could probably add a bit of thyme or basil safely or if you want spicy with a bit of a kick hot, the warmer Indian type spices such as chile, coriander, cumin or cayenne. Onion powder would likely be ok, but I prefer the taste of freshly sauteed onion to which I'd personally be inclined to add my red bell pepper (instead of raw.). Just my opinion, naturally.
