    Strawberry Pops
    __________________________________________________________________________

From member angel65. I made came up with these for an evening snack option and they surprised me, as they taste like strawberry shortcake!

ARC Gail Note:  A perfect, ripe strawberry can be a wonderful thing, but given that Mother Nature can be a bit inconsistent with the sweetness of her bounty, we'd encourage you to taste before adding sweetener.  Some strawberries may need nothing added to them; others may require a tinge more sweetener than the recipe calls for.

    • ½ cup strawberries
    • 2 teaspoons water
    • 1 teaspoon Splenda, optional

Mix all ingredients in the Magic Bullet or a blender. Pour into a popsicle mold and freeze! If you don't have a popsicle mold, pour into a 5 ounce Dixie Cup, freeze for 1 hour, then insert a popsicle stick and return to the freezer. Run popsicle mold or Dixie cup under warm water to release from the pop. Other great tastes are strawberry pineapple, strawberry, peach or any other on plan fruit you desire.

    Compatible with Body Type:
    Breakfast B-C-E
    Morning Snack A-B-D
    Lunch
    Afternoon Snack A-E
    Dinner
    PM Snack A-B-C-D-E

    This Recipe Contains: Fruit A

How do I measure out a serving?

If you use frozen strawberries and more water, it comes out like a slushy. It's really yummy! Takes a little more blending, but I feel like I'm cheating. And then I don't have to wait for it to freeze (I'm impatient, LOL!).

Goal #2 - Weigh less than hubby!
Goal #3 - Stop hearing how sweet I am and start hearing how hot I look! Hehe!

One simple solution to this - rather than waiting an hour, then inserting a popsicle sitck... (I watch the clock for my 2 1/2 - 3 hour intervels... I don't want to watch it more!! )

If you have to use the Dixie cups, put plastic wrap over the top. Use an elastic to get it nice and tight. Then use a steak knife to poke the plastic and make a little slit and then poke the popsicle stick into the slit and down into the cup. The plastic wrap holds the popsicle stick in place.

You can also make mini popsicles the same way with an ice cube tray, plastic wrap and tooth picks.

    Just a little tip!

Loved this recipe; even my friend (who's not on this plan) loved it.  Tasted like Edy's Fruit Bars (Strawberry).  I used strawberries I just picked.  I personally would add maybe 1/2 to 1 packet of splenda more to it.  (I also learned from the farmer that don't be fooled by large strawberries...the larger they are the less flavor they have and are usually used for 'dipping'.)

Also, instead of waiting to put a popsicle stick in there...I used this 'sippy pops'. There is 4 to a tray.  One recipe = 1 popsicle...so I quadrupled (sp?) the recipe and made four pops in the tray.
