I just got finished posting some new pics.  About the challenges...money is tight here as well and I don't want to leave JoJo out of anything...I got out 6WBMO "Bible" and came up with an idea that would work for me.  I am going to set 2 week goals and if...excuse me...WHEN...I reach that goal, I am going to do something for ME...maybe get my hair done or get a manicure, buy a new top, etc.  To be accountable to myself is most important, but I need you guys, so I'm going to post a pic at the end of each 2 wk goal to help me stay on my toes.  If we decide to do some sort of challenge with/without a prize that will be fine.  Here is my info I will post later on.

    Name:  Patricia (Trish) Lovewell

    Provida WebName: Lovewell

    Birthday:  March 14, 1965

    lbs to lose:  215

    lbs lost already:  47

Marriage Status:  Married to Albert for 20 years on April 22, 2009

    Children:  Dustin Ray - 18 - college

                    Kenny Lee - 14

State:  Arkansas - Whoo - Pig - Sooie

    Occupation:  5/6 Science teacher

Tell us a little about yourself:  I have always been overweight.  I can remember in 3rd grade having to be weighed in front of the whole class and weighing over 100 lbs.  When I graduated high school, I weighed 210.  I weighed 220 when I got married 6 years later.  Having a baby put 70 lbs. on me and I never took it off, just put more on.  In fact when I had Kenny I weighed 310.  I got tired of feeling ugly and unworthy so the 6WBMO was a blessing.

What is slowing you down from reaching your goal:  I'm slack on preparing food ahead and sometimes I find myself too busy with school to exercise as much as I need to.

    JoJo,

I did get a notification of your PM!  Maybe you need to set that separately?  Don't know why I got one but I did.  This system is weird.

Anyway, you are, of course, correct.  It is harder for me to do stuff being on the road.  I just wanted to be helpful.

I also hear Trish and her concern about money being tight for many of us right now.  Perhaps, we can see the "prize" as getting our new self?

I was also thinking that perhaps each week we could have one or two journal type questions to discuss.  Anyone can suggest them and it will give us something to think about.  Sort of like my New Years Goals thoughts.

Any thoughts about any of this?

JoJo, if you would like to spearhead this, I am totally cool with that as well.  I just don't want you to have to do everything around here!  Wink

    Liza

Thank you so much for your birthday wish and for the beautiful cake.  And I didn't gain an oz. from it!!!!  Thank you also for keeping this interesting.  You ladies come up with some good ideas and they make what we are doing a little more fun.

lbs lost already: 45 (as of Jan. 1, 2009)

Marriage Status: Married for 33 years, will be 34 on Feb. 15 this year)

    State: Michigan

Occupation: I was a merchandiser for Krogers, but am now unemployed, looking for a job.

Tell us a little about yourself: I guess as most all of us, I have had a weight problem my whole life.  I had lost a lot in my teens and was down to 145 when I was married.  I have struggled ever since.  I have been up and down and on every program there is out there. I have read tons of books on diet and nutrition and probably know enough I could be a dietician.  I guess you would think I should know better than to be in the position I am in now.

What is slowing you down from reaching your goal:  I am.  I lost some weight and was too comfortable with myself, and just cave in to  the evil garbage.  When my head is in the right frame of mind, I am in control.  When my emotional side gets to me I lose it.  I am going to have to ask myself everyday, "how bad do I want this?"

I have been so good the last couple of days!  I hope the scale will smile on me!  Trish, I am doing 1 wk goals and holiday goals.  Actually, right now it is 1 DAY goals.  I'm that bad!

    Name: Margaret

Provida WebName:  Idahoan in new mexico

    Birthday: Nov. 18, 1962

    lbs to lose:  83

lbs lost already:  21  (It WAS 38 once upon a time!)

    Children:  3 of 'em  21, 19, 14

State:  New Mexico, but Idaho will always be 'home'

Occupation: Receptionist at a Pre-k to 3rd grade elementary school

Tell us a little about yourself: I am a small town farm girl who loves the outdoors.  I have been overweight all my life except for a couple of very brief periods.  I just love food, and I use it for emotional support.  I am working on breaking that habit, but old habits die hard.  I feel so out of control in so many areas of my life, that maybe I can grab control of my eating and feel control somewhere!

What is slowing you down from reaching your goal:  Laziness, old habits, love of self gratification with food, stress.

It is so nice reading about all of you and getting to know you all better.  I think it would be a good idea to pick out some 'bible' topics and discuss them.  Like the visualization, or the cardio part.  That would be thought provoking and put it more to the forefront of our thoughts.

Margaret, I agree with you on reading about people!  This has been really fun.  I also love Liza's idea of bringing up a subject and discussing it.  I am game.  We need to determine what we are doing for the challenges...or do you just want to continue reporting the weights and set your own mini rewards?

I have the results of the past 6 weeks.  I am closing out that challenge because this will give time to those who are just beginning again to join in.  BUT WE HAVE TO DECIDE.  LET ME KNOW.

Here are the results of the last 6 wks.  Let's shoot for everyone taking a loss for the next challenge.

Summary of losses  for the last 6 wks.
    11/18/2008 12/30/2008 lbs gained/lost Percent
    Karmen 233.5 235 -1.5 -0.64%
    Lesley 192 192 0 0.00%
    Susan 248 237.6 10.4 4.38%
    Patti 277 281.5 -4.5 -1.60%
    Liza 272 273 -1 -0.37%
    Margaret 196.4 202 -5.6 -2.77%
    Kat 286.4 276.4 10 3.62%
    Trish 311 302.5 8.5 2.81%
    Jojo 181.4 175.6 5.8 3.30%

It IS nice to read about everyone...it makes our connection stronger.  I'm the one that brought the prize challenges up....soooo I'll be the first to voice...whatever WE decide will be great.  MONEY is a problem right now with everyone and if we could just have mini challenges, that might be better.  I appreciate you JoJo, Liza, and all the others for doing what you do best...being there!

    Love to all

Marriage Status: Married for 20 years this past September.

    Children: 1 son

    State: Maryland

Occupation: Beautician for 26 years now.

Tell us a little about yourself: I am 44 years old and have suffered with my weight all my life. I have PCOS and have always fought it trying to keep weight off. I had 8 years ago gastric bypass and have keep off alot of the weight since then. Now in my 40's I struggle with maintaining it. I did 6WBMO before and lost 65 Lbs and went through depression with some tragic things after the weight loss and once again turned to food. I am wanting to get the weight off but I am going to not beat myself over it. I have a wonderful husband who thinks I am beautiful the way I am. I need to loose it and keep it off for my health. I look forward to doing this again!

What is slowing you down from reaching your goal. I recently was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue and I am trying to get through it. Does not make it easy to loose and get motivated.

Lisa- Thank You! I am so glad to be back! I am doing well now I thought that I was dealing with depression but found out it is adrenal fitigue. I am slowly getting back together and this was another step I needed to take. My husband and I celebrated 20 years this past September 17. We are taking a cruise February 14-21 and that was a real push to get some of the weight off before then I have 6 weeks. My son is great he is 18 now check my gallery out I posted some new pics of he and I. He and I both had some pics taken for his graduation and since it was a friend of mine she took as many of me as she did him. I look forward to getting it all together. I start monday a boot camy for 4 week have to be at the gym every monday- friday at 5:30 am. I pray I make it through it I am not a early bird but I really needed the push start. How has everything been for you are you still traveling alot? I going to try and post a picture of my son hope it goes through.

I just lost my whole post and now have to start over!!!Crying

I had 50 emails to go  through, so now I can get back with you all.

The map is great and reading about everyone was fun too!!

Challenges......how about if we challenge ourselves.  We make weekly goals, one week at a time, for six weeks.  At the end of the six weeks you can reward yourself with something special.  Maybe put a few dollars away each week if you meet those weeks goals and at the end of the six weeks, it is yours to do with what you please.  Buy a book, item, movie, etc.  That way we have a weekly goal to make, and try to do it for the six weeks.  We can report here about our sucesses and failures for the week and keep track of the weight chart.

I am not great on a computer, so doing the charts, I don't know if I can do that.  I don't even know how to get all those cute graphics up you all do!!  JoJo, you do a great job, not to push anything on you, if I knew how to do all that stuff I wouldn't mind doing it.  (I guess I am lucky I can type here).

I think we need to be accountable in some way, and if we succeed, we can be rewarded.  Reporting is a good way to account for ourselves.  We will only hurt ourself if we cheat.

My goals for the first week.  Journal everyday, write in my food diary everyday, exercise at least 30 mins everyday, stay on plan everyday.  If I meet these four goals this week.  I will put one dollar away for each goal met. ($4 total for the week).  Subtract if I didn't meet that goal one day.  At the end of the six weeks, hopefully I will have a little extra cash for myself!!

Talking about a topic every week is great too.  I always like to hear what others are thinking and reading about and it can be helpful info to us all.

I will try to get a new pic up by next week.  I am going to recharge my batteries for my camera tonight to take to our family (late) Christmas party tomorrow and see if I can get someone to snap a shot of me.

I will be looking forward to hearing from you all.  Leslie, I envy you in that warm, Gulf water!!  Enjoy your vacation!!Paradise My husband is laid off from work until sometime in Feb.  I would love to be able to head south!!

    Patti

    ATTENTION ATTENTION ATTENTION!!!!

Okay...here is what I am going to do...I am going to start the next 6 week challenge.  Times are tight right now for everyone.  I will send out a little trinket for the person that loses the most weight PERCENTAGE out of everyone that participates for the 6 weeks.  I am really pumped up about the gym and I want so desperately to get you guys losing!!!  I will send out a vote as to what day everyone wants to have the weigh in.  I personally like having it at the beginning of the week because it really keep us honest over the weekend when it is harder to stay POP.  BUT...it IS your vote.  I will give my telephone number out to the group so that you can call if you can't log in for that weigh in day.  If you do miss the weigh in, you can continue reporting but will not be eligible for the reward at the end of the 6 weeks.  I will also create award ICONS for each week to the winner of that week.

How does this sound???  WHO's in it????

Liza, can you spearhead the discussion topic idea that you had???  That is a really good idea!!!

I am casting my vote for Mondays...

VOTE for what weigh in day you want:

Monday    jojo   Karmen  Susan  Margaret  Barbara  Patti  Trish

    Tuesday

    Wednesday

    Thursday

Okay I have a few minutes since I finished watching Stargate Atlantis and the kids are still playing.  I will be making them a spot in the floor in a bit.

My vote for weigh in day is Monday and my vote for the trinket would be bubble bath Bubble Bath.

Okay got to go and look up and see if they are ending the show or just taking a break. I so hope its not ending Im not ready for it to end lol.  Hope yall have a good night.
