I am hoping you will let me jump in with you. This looks like an incredibly supportive forum where you always support each other. And, JoJo, you are amazing! Your success is astounding! I am so proud of you! Margaret and I are on another thread but I have learned more about her just catching up on some of your posts than I have ever known about her on the other thread. I have been having a terrible time lately getting the scale to move in the right direction. I have done the plan before and it worked great. I have not quite figured out what I am doing wrong but I am sure I will and will have success again. I can identify with the husband woes. I was married to the father of my children for 13 years. His list of priorities did not include me or the children at all. I felt so hurt and rejected that I had no self esteem at all. Which spiraled me into a relationship that was much worse! The new guy showered me with love and compliments only to find out later that he was an abusive alcoholic who was only looking for his next meal ticket. Now I am the luckiest person alive. I have been dating a guy for 9 years who loves me and my children and treats us wonderfully! For years after we started seeing each other I kept waiting to find out that he was bad in some way. Well 9 years later he is better than ever. This past year and a half I have had several health problems (which is what got me off plan in the first place) and he has been wonderful. I couldn't ask for a better person. Oops, I didn't mean to ramble so much for my first post. See, you wonderful people just make others feel so open and welcome.

OK...I just had my mid-morning snack (it was an hour late!) and I tried the turkey breakfast sausage and it was awesome! Lots of flavor! So far, so good! It is cold here so I am sticking to hot beverages...I am going to make some cinnamon tea. I also need to do laundry and dishes and get packed for my trip to Florida on Tuesday. So much to do!
I have managed maintain thru my week in NY, I think I may have even lost. We'll see tomorrow morning! Getting lots of fluids and now will do some physical labor!

Hey Pat! It's good to see you over here! This is a really warm and caring group of folks here! They love me for all my warts! (So it is easier to show them my warts, here)
Jojo, (As Billy Crystal would say) You look MAHVELOUS! You need to be on the infomercial! Or at least the pin-up girl of the month!
Crystal, I wish I could create cutsies. I would create Yoda from Star Wars using his Jedi power saying "This is not the ick you seek." (OK, I am a little nerdy!)
Wow, it looks like we have all had a lot of man trouble. Can we just collectively yell, "Men Stink!" Well, most men, most of the time. But more forcefully, let's yell, "I'm important! I matter! I'm worth it! I DESERVE IT!!!" and.......(take it away Hammie!")......

Hi Pat. I am not sure but I don't think that being a B will keep you from joining us. The support is here but you might need B suggestions for your menu's.
According to the map it looks like we are filling up the East Coast fast. My daughter lives not far from you, Liza. She is in (of all names) Cockysville Md. just outside of Towson. I drop in there every now and again. We also enjoy the Inner Harbor(just not the traffic!!)
I am off to the store and I am going to get all the things I need to make this week great. I am looking forward to making some soup. I just miss the salt so much, but I swear if a grain passes my lips it is not good.
Cathc up with you later, Susan

What I have learned about men above all else is... We can't let them get us down. We are wonderful people who deserve to feel great about ourselves. Do you want to know how I decided that I NEEDED a divorce? I got a calendar and started marking the days that he made me feel miserable and I decided if there were more bad days than good then I needed to make a CHANGE. Well boy was I surprised. There were no good days. So I got an envelope and decided for every week that there were more bad days than good I would put in $20 and when I had enough for a divorce I would get one. At that time the attorney fee's were $500. Sadly, saving up the money didn't take long at all. Some people have asked if I felt guilty stashing money away behind his back. The answer to that is NO! In my opinion it was no different than all the money that he spent on his wants without consulting me first. I know that sounds like a crazy way to decide to get a divorce but it took me seeing it in black and white to know it was the right thing to do. And boy was it the right thing to do. After the divorce he had to pay child support before the divorce he spent everything that he made plus a lot of what I made, so I was financially better off. He also had court ordered times that he was supposed to have the children, so he began seeing them more. I don't want to seem like an advocate for divorce- I am just saying you have a right to be happy. And if there is someone or something in your life that is making you miserable you need to do something different. It hasn't been perfect by any means- married to the father of your children is usually the best way to go.
And yes- most of them stink! Some wore than others!

Pat, I am with Susan on this...you are welcome here. Most of our issues are common...we just may not be able to advise on menu issues. In all honesty, we hardly ever talk about what to eat here.
I am very familiar with Cockeysville! I am off of I83 just north of downtown. Towson is one of my favorite places. Although I almost never go downtown...too much traffic! A little tip...if you miss salt, try lemon juice. It give a 'salty' taste without the sponge effect!

I believe God sends us angels to watch over us and to be there when we need someone. You guys are definitely angel material. Set yourself at ease about me...for now all I have on my mind is working on myself...I guess it has happened for so long that I've become numb. I know I deserve better but honestly ladies...I'm not in great shape physically or mentally. I WILL REBOUND...right now I'm staying because of my son and the fear that he will not have as much. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers...now on an upbeat..welcome Pat and Teresa!!!
Have a wonderful day!! Talk with you guys tonight after church!

Pat, you sound a lot like me. I worry and worry about things, what to do, what to do, wringing my hands, but if I put it down in black and white, it all starts making sense, and I see my way to go. By the way, we won't hold being a "B" against you.
Trish, love you baby!
By the way, Trish and Teresa, it looks like you both are 2.5-3 lbs away from Twoderville. I am only 2-3 lbs away from Onederland. How about a little side challenge to see who gets across their border first????? All in fun, of course!

Pat, I don't think it matters much if you are an A or a B...not to these ladies. The important thing is that you are here for the same reason that we are here! Lose the added weight and get happy and healthy!

Hey ladies and Happy New Year! I'm so sorry that I haven't been here in a few days. Work actually started for me today -- well not exactly, but I needed to travel today and so I had a ton of stuff to do before I left home. Since I will be in DC for the week, I'm at a Residence Inn and I just finished cooking my dinner for the week. I'm also rather frustrated in that I managed to twist my arm handling a box for my holday decorations and I now have limited use and I'm in moderate pain as we speak. It made lugging my heavy bags and groceries on Metro a fun experience... NOT! Anyway, I'm all settled in for the week.
Somehow, I managed to lose 2.6 lbs this week. I was not happy with past week and I hope to do much better on program this week, despite being on travel
I WANT MY 10 AV next week!
JoJoPoodle:
Here is the information template. If you are not comfortable completing, please don't feel you must do it. I just thought this would be a nice way to get to know a little more about each of us. I will gather the information together and put it on 1 page and put a link in my signature.

Thank you all for the kind welcome. Today has been a good day. I have drank all of the water, ate on plan and made it to the gym (45 minutes on the treadmill and some leg, arm and ab work). It has been an ongoing challenge for me to stick to plan on the weekends. I do really well throughout the work week then I think I undo everything in the two days off. It was my new years resolution to do as well on the weekends as I do throughout the week.
I am going to try to create a new habit. Every night before bed, I am going to lay out my work clothes, pack my food for the next day, fill up a water bottle for the gym and put my workout clothes in a bag. That way all I have to do in the AM is grab it and go. No Excuses. I tried a new breakfast recipe. Vegetable Quiche To Go Cups. They were pretty good. I am not big on breakfast foods and am always looking for easy ideas. I used spinach and they were good. Next time I go to the grocery I am going to get some broccoli- I think I will like it even more. I think they will be a good thing to have on hand throughout the week.

Wow. See. This is why I like this group! Y'all kick butt! Reporting weighs on Monday is fine with me. Also, I agree with the individual goals, although I have to say that it's a very sweet thing to actually give out a gift basket! But I certainly do understand this times. I won't bore you with the money I've had to shell out on new glasses and a root canal and other responsibilites.
I think what I will do is to set money aside each week for a much needed massage at the end of the 6 weeks. Cuz I'm gonna need one!
JoJoPoodle:
ATTENTION ATTENTION ATTENTION!!!!
Okay...here is what I am going to do...I am going to start the next 6 week challenge. Times are tight right now for everyone. I will send out a little trinket for the person that loses the most weight PERCENTAGE out of everyone that participates for the 6 weeks. I am really pumped up about the gym and I want so desperately to get you guys losing!!! I will send out a vote as to what day everyone wants to have the weigh in. I personally like having it at the beginning of the week because it really keep us honest over the weekend when it is harder to stay POP. BUT...it IS your vote. I will give my telephone number out to the group so that you can call if you can't log in for that weigh in day. If you do miss the weigh in, you can continue reporting but will not be eligible for the reward at the end of the 6 weeks. I will also create award ICONS for each week to the winner of that week.
How does this sound??? WHO's in it????
Liza, can you spearhead the discussion topic idea that you had??? That is a really good idea!!!
I am casting my vote for Mondays...
VOTE for what weigh in day you want:
Monday jojo Karmen Susan Margaret Barbara Patti Trish
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday

Whew! Finally caught up on all of the postings! I don't know if you guys realize this, but you all are simply amazing! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
My personal biggest challenge, besides needing to lose a ton of weight, is being more open. I don't tend to like to talk about me all that much. For one thing, it's just not much to tell. I don't have a family and I've never been married, so I don't have much to say. But it does bother me that so many of you have had to deal with relationship challenges. I just wish that I could offer some pearls of wisdom or something...
Anyway, I do wish all of you the best in the future and as I start to warm up more, I hope to share more. I'm sure that I have something to say about myself. I just don't know what it is yet.

Hi Mel,
Welcome back...I am so sorry about your arm!! Makes us realize how vital all of our body parts truly are...
Okay, on the challenge, this is what we are doing...You don't have to chip in anything...I am handling that end of it.
Here are the rules to the challenge...
Challenge information and rules:
So...Monday (this Monday) 01/05/09 we start the 6 week challenge. Everyone that gives me their start weight on Monday the 5th will be part of the challenge. I will PM all of those ladies my phone number. If you are not doing the 6 wk challenge and you would like my number anyway because you NEED to talk to a live person during a rough period, I will be happy to give it to you and be there for you.
So the rules of the challenge...
1) Report on Mondays by forum, PM, or phone
2) Must report each and every Monday for the 6 wks to qualify for the grand prize (pleasure trinket) at the end of the 6 wks.
3) Winner will be % of weight lost and not number of pounds.
4) Weekly ICON awards will be given to the person that loses the largest % of weight for that week.
5) Week six will have the weekly ICON award and the grand prize award.
PS...if you are going to partake in the challenge don't forget to fill out the vote for pamper item in my signature. click on the link...when the window goes to the template...click edit and add your name to whatever you like...can be multiple items.
Good luck ladies...May we all be losers!!!
