I'm back home, and ready to go!  I am almost at my beginning weight, and that will never do!  School starts in 3 weeks, and so I will have my work cut out for me to get as much off as possible before then.  I am feeling pretty good right now, so I will take advantage while I can.  I am stocked up on food, so there is no excuse!

I am getting back into the swing of things, and have already lost 3 lbs.  I know most of that was water from traveling, but I will take it anyway.  Smith's had a good sale on blueberries, so I am going to try some sugar free jam and see how that turns out.

Well, I am feeling pretty proud of myself.  I have walked 4 out of the 6 days that I have been home, and worked pulling weeds 2 days.  I have been walking for 30 minutes.  I don't want to over do it, because I think that a lot of my symptoms are similar to chronic fatigue syndrome, and I have found that if I over do things (as they say with CFS) that it will make you worse for a few days.  I think it might actually throws me back into episodes. I am feeling pretty good, and I don't want to go back into an episode.

My reg. doc. didn't want me to follow the directions of the rheumatologist and wanted me to modify the amount of med's that she gave me.  I couldn't actually take the meds while I was in Idaho, because it makes you drowsy and I had to be able to get up at midnight for Mom's night feeding.  So I have been taking the meds since I have been home, and slowly upping the dose to a much smaller dosage than the rheumatologist wanted.  I will try this at the modified dose for a couple of weeks and see how I feel, and if I stay episode free.

I am just happy that I am feeling motivated again.  It is wonderful!

Its so good to hear that you are feeling better Margret.  I also know what you mean about getting motivated.  I am working on that this week and will be starting over on Monday since Friday is shopping day and we will be at the lake one night with the in laws since the boys are gone all week with them.  The house is quiet other than the storm we are having now  and the tv lol.

So since I am starting over on Monday I am headed off to reset my ticker.  Hope you have a good day.

Thanks Karmen.  Have fun at the lake.  And good luck with the 'start over'.  I had too much salt last night.  I hate weighing the next morning, because of the retention.  But, that too shall pass!  hahaha

I had a rough few days with Tom in the house and the associated munchies, but I am back on track, although we are going to dinner with another couple tonight or tomorrow night.  Luckily, I am familiar with the restaurant and can make good selections.  I am still at 217 and I'm pretty sure there is some more water to dispose of.  I hate that Tom can make my belly 3-4 inches bigger.  The difference between yesterday and today is astounding!

Still hanging in there, trying to get in the swing of things.  I am at least aware of what I am eating and making better choices, if not staying totally on plan.

OK.....don't fall out.....it's been nearly 3 months since I posted....I looked.  Karmen and Margaret...it looks like you have been solo for several weeks....I will try to get back on board.  Our computer is down at home and my summer has really been busy.  Too busy....no me time and teachers start back to school on the 11th...WOW...where has the summer gone!  As for weight loss...ladies I've gained...I'm back up to 310...not happy with myself at all.  I am going to start over in the morning...going to buy groceries and get meals ready.  I need to get back to posting...that makes me more accountable.  Well, got to run...will post sometime this weekend and let you know how my "start again" plan is going.

    Love ya',

    Trish

Ok.  Margaret and Karmen.  I think you have been hanging in there alone long enough.  I did ok getting back on until I couldn't remember my password.  Then all of a sudden it came back to me!  I have had a dreadful summer with my Mother being sick and have been spending most of my time going back and forth to see her.  She is doing better but will be on dialysis because of the kidney damage.  I have been able to maintain the weight I was when I last posted within a few lbs and am at 234 right now.  So I think it is time to chip a little more of this weight off.  Something that scared me was that while I was on prednisone for a long time I had become diabetic.  I didn't have to start on meds for it because they were sure it was induced by the steroids and when I stopped them the condition went away also.  However the Dr. had said when I had my mother there that it would be very easy to follow in her medical footsteps if I wasn't careful.  It got me  thinking that I don't want to have all those problems in my Golden Years.  Diabetes, high bloodpressure, nerve damage from high sugar levels, she has had eye damage, open heart surgery, sever arthritis just to name a few.  Not a pretty picture.  And most of them were brought on by excess weight.  Since I lost the weight that I have I don't eat as much as I used to, but still crave those breads and pastas but have changed a lot of habits, otherwise I would have gained it all back by now. Well I guess I have rambled on long enough.  Be back tomorrow.  I promise.        Love to all,   Susan

Susan, I am so glad to see you "back in the saddle" hehehe.  I have missed your little horsie.  And you, too!  You have done very well maintaining, especially with all the trauma and stress that you have had this summer.  I'm proud of you, and I agree that getting the weight off will put you in a better position to remain healthier in your 'golden' years.  I sure hope your mom gets feeling better!

When I first got on yesterday I had to reprogram my ticker.  I thought my buddy took off without me!  I guess he was not used in so long he was going to move to another stall.

Margaret your ticker is cute.  Getting ready for school already?    Our kids don't go back until August 26th I think.  Way back when I was a kid, we got out the First week of June and didn't go back until after Labor Day Weekend, but they added a few holidays since then!

I haven't gotten on to the plan 100 % yet but I am setting myself up for Monday.  This weekend is crazy because we have to go to Jersey and clear out my Mother in Laws apartment.  She passed away the end of March and she was in an assisted living appt. so I guess the time is up.  The kids and a neighbor are building a beautiful deck around the back part of the pool and they have been working until 10:00 at night then doing their regular jobs during the day.  Today was 97 deg. outside and I know they were feeling the heat.

So has anybody tried anything new in the way of recipes?  Margaret, how did your sugar free jelly come out.  I tried it once but I did something wrong because it came out like stiff jello.  My regular ones didn't do that so something wasn't right I guess.  Now for the big question..........What do you put it on????

Everything good is growing right now and there is an Amish farm about a half mile away.  I have to get out my little black book because I have lost track of the fruits and vegetables we can have.

Well, guess that's it for now.  Check on you later       Susan

I ended up making low sugar jam instead.  The recipe for no-sugar would only yield about 3 cups.  I'm too cheap to spend that much for berries, sure-jell and only end up with 3 cups.  But I was thinking that would be good when I just HAD to have something sweet.....it wouldn't be so bad.  And there are some recipes for oatmeal pancakes that I coulda used it on.

I have to say that the best meal is grilled chicken, sweet potato with cinnamon, and veggies.  This type of meal does much better for me......But I did make a soup once that was pretty yummy......It was cut up chicken, rice, broth, green chiles, garlic, red chili powder, celery, carrots, pepper, oh, and of course onions.

I hope everyone is doing ok.  Susan, I hope things slow down for you.

Trish, I hope the beginning of school goes smoothly for you....how is your son's knees doing, by the way?

Karmen, did you get to restart?

Patti, how is everything for you?

Pat, I've been thinking of you.

    Jojo, still missing you!

Yep I got to restart but ended up at a birthday party this weekend and that wasnt good.  I didnt go overboard but it wasnt on plan either.  Also dealing with TOM and trying to find good builders or contractors (what ever you want to call them) to get bids from so we can see if we can add on to the house or not.  I will know where I stand by the middle of the week as far as my weight goes.

Its so good to see all of you back in here.  We helped a friend move this weekend so we have been busy and things are just picking up.  Well got to go in the house now since its really dark out here on the deck and the bugs are out but its so nice and cool out here.  I will catch up with yall one day this week.

Hi.  Just got back from New Jersey.  What usually takes about 2 hours took 4 today.  We started getting rain in Dover before we left and it was the hardest wind and rain I think I ever remember.  Half way there we talked to someone near home and found out there were tornado warnings for the area.  I don't like traveling in regular rain but this was unreal.  My son in law  drove his truck and is a very good driver  and he really does handle the truck well and we made it there in one peice.  We collected the belongings of my Mother in Law that we were taking and by the time we got ready to leave it had stopped raining, thank God.

Didn't have too much to eat because I hesitate when we are on the road and I know I didn't have enough water so I will have to make up for that tomorrow!!  Not tonight, I am tooooo tired to wake up every hour all night!

Margaret, I am with you, if you work that hard and pay that much you want something good and a lot of it!

Karmen, that moving thing is tough isn't it?  Why do we think we need so much stuff???

I hope everyone had a wonderful day and look forward to hearing from all of you tomorrow.            Susan
