    Cinnamon Dulce Rice Pudding

    __________________________________________________________________________

From member SpriteQueen  I'm a DIE HARD Starbucks "Cinnamon Dulce Latte" junkie, so I had to come up with SOMETHING similar to eat, to go along with the 6WBMO.  Here's what I did...

    ½ cup cooked rice
2 egg equivalent of powdered egg whites
    ½ teaspoon instant coffee granules
1 tablespoon Sugar Free Caramel Syrup (I used DaVinci brand)
1 tablespoon Sugar Free White Chocolate Syrup (I used DaVinci brand)
    1 tablespoon water
    Dash of cinnamon
    splash of rice milk (optional)

Use hot rice or warm up cold rice in the microwave for 30 seconds or so.  In a separate bowl, mix egg white powder, coffee granules, syrups, water, and cinnamon until well blended (blending takes a bit to incorporate the egg powder.  A little bit of powder left is okay).  Pour over hot rice and mix again until well blended.  Add a splash of rice milk if you want it a little
    creamier.  Serves one.  Enjoy!

    Compatible with Body Type:

Hi, I saw this thread and just had to respond to the Author and anyone else who may be interested. I actually work for Starbucks. Did you know you can buy bottles of their sugar free syrups. Yep! They have the Cinnamon Dolce, Hazelnut, Vanilla and Caramel all in sugar free. I compared nutrition facts and they are exactly the same as the "DaVinci" and "Torani" brands. Absolutely no sugar, calories, etc. The sugar free's taste just as good as the orginals. You can buy a huge bottle at any Starbucks store for $6.95. Most people have no idea! I use the Cinnamon Dolce in my sweet potatoes, rice pudding, muffins, oatmeal, its wonderful! They all are! So there's my secret from a Starbuckian! Enjoy!

    Hey Jacobsmom1,

I actually knew about the Sugar Free Caramel/Vanilla, but wasn't aware of a sugar free version of the Cinnamon Dulce! Thanks for the tip! I'm gonna have to go shopping, I guess! Smile

SpriteQueen this recipe is fabulous!!!! I have made it twice. I used bastamti rice. The first time was with hot fresh rice, the second time I warmed the cold rice. The first batch was absolutely the best!!! It puffed up and almost doubled the amt filling the cup - guess cause it was more porous? It was softer and just yummier. So I vote for HOT fresh rice.

Thanks for an amazing way to get my morning snack - being the E body type that we are!!!! I even went to Crate and Barrell and bought 6 mini triffle cups to put it in, just one way I like to make this plan fun and special. XOX

Great! Glad you liked!!  I'll have to try it with the Basmati.  Thanks for the info.  I like it better with fresh-cooked rice, too.  The rice gets a little "stale" in the fridge overnight, IMHO.

Where in the world can you find egg white powder.... I went to 3 different stores and they looked at me like I was crazy, or they took me to the freeze dried eggs that are with the regular eggs which definately not what this calls for since you are only using teaspoons of it.

    Please help!

    Thanks, Crissy

Have you seen our "What is it and where do I find it?" forum?  You'll find information about that product there under powdered egg whites.  Smile

I can't find egg white powder in my area so can I use regular egg whites instead? This sounds great but I just can't find the powder even in the stores suggested in the "where to find it" thread.

    Thanks for help

Bearing in mind that your results will be different, I see no reason why you can't; however, I'm not sure that the egg whites will be completely cooked through so you may want to use the pasteurized variety.  Also, you can't follow the instructions exactly as written in the text. Mix your coffee, cinnamon and syrups and put aside (I don't think you'll necessarily need the water in this case.)  Mix your eggs and rice, nuke about 15-20 seconds, stir well and return to the microwave about the same amount of time.  Stir again.  If the result seems fairy creamy and the egg white doesn't look slimy or uncooked, you can stop there and add other ingredients in.  Otherwise, stir well, heat another 15 seconds before adding the other ingredients.  I'm sort of guessing times here; ultimately it will depend upon the wattage of your microwave.
