You are correct.  Enrollment is now limited to New Body Community College.  Please follow the link in the second post of the Registrar's Office or scroll down the NBU Forum Menu page to find NBCC. Once you're there, read the first 3 posts and you can go ahead and start posting.

    Welcome back to campus.

    Hi Andrea

You're correct, the Spring semester is just wrapping up.  I'll post the new information thread shortly.  The Intersession term will start in a couple weeks.

Now you simply need to go to that thread, read the first two posts and then reply so your Resident Advisor knows you're there.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Nope, no one can tell you.  Wink   I won't post the dates until the current term is all wrapped up nice and tidy.  Rest assured, I will post the dates of the upcoming semester at the top of the NBU Forum in a new thread that will be entitled NBU09 Summer - Information.

In the meantime, feel free to visit the Food Services Office or the Quad and get a good start.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I posted in the summer session registration thread and I have a question. Just to make sure, we start accumulating points and pounds/inches lost on August 17th...correct? The first week of move in that starts August 8th is just to get to know each other better?

The reason I ask is because I'm new to the plan and I'm planning on starting on the 17th but if we start counting weight lost as of the 8th then I can start tomorrow. I just don't want to hurt my dorms stats by starting late.

You are correct.  However, I never encourage people to wait an extra week to start.  There are just too many things that can be "justified" in that week.  So, I would say, start now.  Even if you just start with the water and exercise parts--maybe work toward cutting out things you know are off plan one or two a day for this first week.  By the time the credit reporting period starts, you'll be well on your way to being perfectly on plan (POP).

Let me know if I can help.

Hi there.  I just signed up for enrollment in the summer 09 session.  I know that it starts on September 17, but I will be traveling that week.  I want to start right away, but will not be able to avoid restaurants for about 4 days (from the 17th through the 20th).  Can you advise me on the best way to handle this?

    Thanks,

    Gretchen

Actually, our semester starts a bit sooner than that.

This semester’s schedule begins with enrollment starting August 8th followed by Move In starting August 12th. Students begin to earn credits during RUSH Week which kicks off on August 17th. Enrollments will go through the end of Week 4 (September 13th). Credits will be earned through September 27th and Final credits are to be reported by students ON September 28th.

So you should be able to have a good handle on things before you travel.  As for what to do about restaurants, there are some great tips in the binder that came with the 6WMBO in the Eating Out Guide.  You could also check out the Travelling & Eating Out forum for some tips from other Provida users.

If you are in a restaurant that isn't covered in the guide, use the basic principals of the eating plan to help you made the best choices possible.  Don't be afraid to let the waitstaff know that you would like a salad with no dressing or that you don't want added salt or butter used when your food is prepared, etc.  When all else fails, go to a local grocery store and purchase what you need to keep yourself on plan and eat your meals from your hotel.

I have personally followed all these suggestions myself when I have traveled and  found that it is totally possible to stay on plan AND have a good time.

    Good luck!

    Rachel

Hi.  I am in Bengal Hall.  I just found out this morning.  What do I do now?  I see some people have filled out "ABCs" but I don't know where to find that.  When do we start reporting stats? I have been reading up but still feel very nervous and a bit lost and I don't want to mess things up for the other Bengals.  Thanks.  Amanda

Welcome to campus.  Have you been to Bengal Hall?  On the first page there you'll find a post from your RA (Janet) with instructions and tips on how to find thing around the dorm, etc.  Go ahead and post a note to Janet letting her (and the rest of the dorm) that you're there and ready to go.  She'll help you get settled and on the way.   You'll start earning credits the day you join so no worries.

Again, welcome!  Let me know if you need anything.

It is not too late.  Enrollment is still open.  Please go the REGISTRAR'S OFFICE and read the first TWO posts for details and directions to get started.
