I'm back, had a great time with in-laws. The brothers fished and sis and I shopped junk shops and resale shops. I didn't need anything, but found bargins for GK.

My DH and DBIL have gone through their whole life not knowing who my DH father is. The older they get the more they look alike. I have a friend who said she would do their DNA for the cost of the lab. So while they were here we had it done. Will find out soon. She even said they looked like they were full brothers. DH's mother went to her grave not telling. I am not sure if she knew. It has bothered DH for all his life. Now we will know.

Well, looks like we are going to get dumped on. Oh joy, I was hoping for spring. Ha Ha I guess my visit to see my cousin and our cousin get together will have to be post poned for a week. I will not get out in a snow storm and they will not either. I have heard we could get a foot or more of snow. UCK, not looking forward to that.

DH finally got the wall fixed in the garage and bedroom. The studs were not hurt, all he had to do was replace the one sheet of dry wall and mudd the wall in the bedroom. He fixed some other places that needed work too. If we get snow I will paint and put the border back. Still not ready to redu that room. I am not tired of the color or the paper. Besides I don't want to work that hard. Not right now.

Best get back to work, I was off all last week and still have plenty to get caught up on.

 Well, the official total was 17 inches of snow...seemed like more than that to me. We lost power for a couple of hours only. It could have been much worse. Both cars are dug out now, although I have only been outside to lend a hand with shoveling.

Another blizzard on the way for tomorrow. This one should go a little further north, so the prediction is for snow and sleet with an accumulation of 4 inches. I just hunkered down with the dogs. Guess I will be doing that again.

All the schools are closed today, and many, if not most, business. At least I have lots of food in the house. I'll bet the grocery stores are crazy today.

Wish me luck in this next storm. Hope everyone is keeping warm and dry.

GOSH FINALLY GOT ON. Well calling for atleast a foot of new snow. Just what we wanted.

I sure hope Susan can get someone to go with her to talk to an attorney. I'm positive she can't draw SSDI if she's getting unemployment. An attorney could tell her what to expect and what to do. I didn't realize she was drwing unemployment.

Donna I'll get the recipe out and post it for you. It's so very good. Glad your furbaby made it.

Oatmeal Blueberry Squares

8 egg whites

1c, old fashioned oatmeal

2c. blueberries

1/3c splenda or amount to taste

cinnamon to taste

mix all ingred. and pour into 8x8 non-stick pan.Bake at 350 for 30-35 min. after it cools cut into four squares.

Each serving provides 2 oz. protein and 1/2 c fruit

 

This sis very good. I use it as pre workout.

 Good afternoon Gang

Pandora woke me up this morning.  I couldn't believe I slept in to 7:00.  Boy did my hinnie get in gear fast.  

We were having  very mild day, but it was getting chilly when I left work.  I put a bid on an 82 Chevy truck that they're auctioning off at school.  I went online, but couldn't get an accurate estimate.  Starting bid was $500 and I had heard that someone had submitted a minimum bid.  

School board meeting tonight.         Wonder if there will be fireworks?  

Judy Too - enjoy the winter wonderland.  How do the dogs like it? Probably difficult for DH to get around too.  Glad you didn't lose power for very long.  Read online that some family in Maryland lost power and it was 47* in their house.  Chilly.

Judy - If winter is about over (for me), I think I'm going to put off the heating until next year.  The electric fake wood stove is working ok, and is not that expensive.  Or at least this way it is a whole lot less expensive that anything new.

Donna - fur baby may have just not felt well.  Glad she is still around.

Cassie - Bet your bathroom looked 'destroyed' after washing two dogs.  

Cheryl - the gals on FB said it was raining this weekend.  Will that be snow for you?  Sounds like the band was good on Saturday night.  

Jack - Back to the mtns again on Saturday?  They should start getting busy soon.  I think the starting date for the AT is mid-March, right?

Diane - So are DH and DBIL related (step brothers), or just coincidence.  That WOULD be interesting.  Maybe it's better Mother took it to her grave.

Well, going to get a few more things done before I leave for the school board meeting.

Cassie I was really sweating tonight after my “Walk the pounds away” It has been a long times sense I did the walk. Great workout.

Cheryl I only lost ½ inch this week—that’s 2 or two and half depending if I measure the same spot. Still nothing in the middle around the belly button. Well tomorrow another day maybe it will work tomorrow.

Monica I’m glad your friend is doing so well after his kidney transplant. Bet you had a nice visit with your Trooper Joe and his lady.

Jack when you live in a small town like Iola you knows most everyone and that’s when you get into the helpers club trap. We also play cards at the senior center so that leaves the door open for people to ask favors. I really don’t mind it but sometimes it gets a little old. I’m just glad we are in good health and don’t have to call on others to help us.

Di I’m sure if I were in your DH shoes I’d have the test done. I think it’s important to know your roots.

I was about ready to have a missing person report done on you. Glad you are back.

JudyToo Here I’m complaining about our snow and ice but at least we haven’t lost electricity yet. A couple of years ago we had a gas vent less heater installed. We have only had to rely on it a couple of times but to me it’s well worth the money for the few times we did need it.

Judy I think we’re all tired of this winter stuff. That darn rodent should be stuffed back in its hole. I’m sure it’s his entire fault all this snow. Lol

In the blueberry square do you use frozen or fresh? I love blueberries but when I make b.b. pancakes and such the frozen seems to have so much water.

Nikii I’m giving Mego a dog aspirin twice a day now. I know that’s too much but I don’t want her to suffer. The aspirin seems to help a lot but it’s for a 15-20 pound dog and she weights 12.  She whines almost every time she tries to get up now. Seems to do all right after she walks around a bit. Before I started giving her twice a day she was so stiff she could hardly move around even after she got up. I tried to cut the pills in half but didn’t seem to help her pain.

Guess I’ll head to bed and watch the Doctors and Dr. Oz that is two programs I tape. I enjoy them both.

Good morning everyone! It is really cold here this morning. Unbelieveable (sp) that this storm that went across us yesterday is going to smack the east coast again! Boy they sure are getting it!

Jack glad that you don't have to dig out and your off on another adventure next week. Boy you have all the fun.

Diane glad that you are back and had a good time. That's cool on the DNA testing.

Judytoo glad to see that you came through the storm okay. The last two storms have went south of Lori and I so we only got skiffs. Makes me wonder what Mother Nature has in store for us in March and April.

Judy glad to see you are back on your feet after the flu. Hope you got to the store and back to re-supply. That is one thing that I learned to do when we lived 32 country miles from the nearest store. You watch the weather and then stock up when you are there. As far as racing to the store when there is a bad forcast, I think everyone that lives in the town I work in (McCook) does that! LOL

Morning y'all. It's Tuesday. Rain is supposed to go through today. Traveling fast so won't be around too long. Did our errands yesterday so we wouldn't have to go out into the rain.

Donna - we visited out senior center and the ladies we playing cards and the men were playing pool. We haven't been back as neither one of us play cards. Maybe we'll take up line dancing. lol

Nikii - AT starts getting busy in late march after the snow is mostly gone. The shelters in the smokies have heavy chainlink fence over the front of them to keep out bears. Bears do frequent those places.

Howdy gang.The snow is coming down. Sounds like its supposed to be around the next two days with high winds. That should make it in teresting.All the schools are closed.

Cheryl thanks for posting the recipe. They are so very moist and good.

Donna you can use fresh or frozen. If you use frozen put in a colander to thaw and drain first. Hope you like them.

Nikii I don't blaim you at all for just using the fake fireplace. As long as it does the job save your money until you're sure on what you want. Besides you might get a better price in summer or fall.

I sure hope Susan can get things straightened out. SSDI can really be a pain.

I think I realized why I'm confused regarding disability.  Could there be 2 Judy's?

SUSAN - Hang on to your hat! There are 2 Judy's. The "real" Judy in Indiana, and me, JudyToo in Maryland. Judy is the one with Hope, the kitty; and I am the one with two dogs. I am also the one with extra snow!

Revised report on the first snow ... 24-27 inches! Now, today's prediction for this storm (Thanks a Lot, Guys!) is for ~16 inches more!

Just drove my car for the first time today to go to the grocery store. Roads were not too bad, except for frequent lumps of ice in the road. It's already started sleeting. Hope the roof over my kitchen holds up. It's a flat roof between my office and the rest of the house. Also hope I keep electricity.

Still scheduled for surgery on Friday... Yikes, when it rains, it pours.. or when it snows, whatever...You get it!

Sorry about the weather on the East Coast but I think it really came from California and not the northwest.  It has been somewhat nice here.  At least no fog.  Still have to wear a coat.  

I'm pretty sure our winter is over.  Keep finding big clumps of Pandora fur all over the house.  Today on the computer desk.  I need to give all of the cats a good brushing, so maybe that will be my Valentine's present for them.  

We have inservice on Friday and then a holiday on Monday.  Ordered my king cake for our staff Mardi Gras party on Tuesday and will pick it up on Monday. We potluck the MG event and have a good time.  Getting a wide variety of food.  

Not much else to report.  Need to get in gear and start walking outside.  Just not so motivated when I come home at night.  Got the backpack all ready and everything.  

Judy Too - hope you will be able to get out of your driverway and for your surgery.  Also hope someone is driving you because most likely you will not be able to do that (anesthetics).  

Susan - Judy, with Hope, the cat, is the one you talk to about SSDI.  

Donna - have you tried glucosamine on the dog?  I don't know what the dosage is for dogs, but I do know that some dogs take it.

It's fair here this morning but still dang cold. It is suppose to warm up each day a little more. I sure hope so.

Hi Cassie! All good positive thoughts are with you for your tests today. I really hate when I have lab tests and no coffee. I usually bring it with me and gulp it dowm as soon as I'm finished. I can be a little touchy until I've had that first cup -lol.

I woke up to sub zero windchills yesterday -yuck! Today it's supose to be a little warmer. I'd rather have it a little warmer and have some snow. Not as much as the east coast though.

Morning Jack! Love the idea of having the mts. to go to -what fun.

Sure miss our Lori! Hope all is well with her.

Today my SIL has orthoscopic shoulder surgery. We are a little worried since he is an insulin dependent diabetic and it's always a risk. But he is in constant pain from a "frozen" shoulder - and they will go in and cut the tendons and ligaments that are "frozen". If all goes as scheduled he will come home in a few hours. They will do his other shoulder this summer. Please keep a good thought or say a prayer for him today.

I can't believe I forgot to post yesterday - darn CRS!

Morning y'all. It's Wednesday. Cold here in Georgia. Wind chill makes it even colder. Need to go get the oil changed in my truck. And do a little grocery shopping. Dogs need some food also.

Good Morning, Got the DGD's as no school today. They are doing their Valentine Cards.

Nikki, it is DH and His Brother by the same mother. They are wanting to know if they have the same father. Results should be back soon.

Judytoo, boy you all got pounded. We have plenty and more to come, but not near what you all have.

Getting bedroom put back together. Painting the patch and all. Will be glad when it is finished. But we are replacing the carpet in a month or so. DH has to get it torn out and we have to get the tile done in the bath. I dread that as will have to get all out of the room.

Got to run, something is wrong with my computer. The letters are delayed when I type. Really weird. Back to the computer guy.

Diane1 have fun with the GD's. Glad we didn't get as much snow as they thought we would. But there is plenty. Think my son in Butler got more than the 8 in. So we'll see what today brings with more snow and high winds. Just glad I'm not in New York and a blizzard.

Going this afternoon to get my hair fixed. Was going to cancel but I need out of this house. Getting cabin fever. Have the little one tomorrow and the rest of the week. Think I'll work on the closet in my dining room. It's a pretty good size and I'd like to clear out some things so I can put some metal shelving on one side to use like a pantry. I don't have a lot of storage in my kitchen for canned goods etc. So that's my plan.

it was only 4*  this morn.  thankful not to get any more snow today.

DH would like to go ice fishing this weekend. so i am thinking if he does.   i just might go see DD up at the college. still planning.

Judy, you are welcome!    i had a funny thing happen with the Bars. i was enjoy one the other day until my fork popped a blueberry & it sprayed all over my night gown & neck.  i jumped with surprise. DH was just laughing  like crazy.   i like your bars better than muffins more moist.

Judy Too, WOW...thats a ton of snow. you might need to go up on that roof & scoop it off.  i recall, Verna said that her DH had to shovel roofs in southern Colo. 

Susan, your okay!  we do have 2 Judy's...   how the chickens?

ooo i got a funny story...

  a racoon got in my coop last week & eat one of my hens. so i set our live trap using cat food for bait.

 the next morning i caught a Bunny.  

poor Bunny must of been hungry to eat cat food. i set it free & it did not leave.      that is until the dogs came out.

Nikii, that sounds like a fun MG party.

Thanks for all the private emails, prayers and good thoughts.

SIL, Doug, is out of surgery and in recovery. They found more damage than they expected. In addition to the "capsulitis" - frozen shoulder - they found a hole the size of a quarter in his rotator cuff.

I think this will make his recovery/rehab a little longer and harder. He should be able to go back to teaching sometime next week.
