At the end of my first week (next Fri), my family and I will be going on a Vegas trip.  Has anyone been to Vegas while on this plan?  I'm almost dreading what will happen to my first week's results when we are there.  If anyone has been there while on this plan, what did you eat and where? Any advice would be welcome.  Thank you .

I"ve been there twice and was not able to stay on plan either time. Don't go to a buffett. It is too hard to say no to everything!  Go to a restaurant where you can order fish or a grilled chicken salad. Take some protein bars. If you are very ambitious, make some scrumptious granola. Put each serving in a little baggie (it will easily fit in your suitcase!) Have one each morning for your breakfast. You might also take one as your lunch.  Pick up some apples in the little deli shops at your hotel. Of course, I'm speaking as a type A, not sure what your plan is.  If you do badly, just get back on plan as soon as you get home. RELOSS pounds usually come off quite fast! I know, I've done it way too many times!

I would like to hear how your Vegas trip went also!  I am going November 14 for an uncle's birthday.  They have made reservations at Spago and Strip Steak. It is going to kill me not to drink, but I have made this committment and I am sticking to it.  My husband and I won't be doing much gambling, so I am not worried about activity.

I hope you understand that the posts above were made in 2008 and it is very likely that the members you're asking won't necessarily come back to respond. Smile Just didn't want you to think folks were being rude or ignorning you.

i figured i'd post a reply to this thread, even though the vegas trip has obviously come and gone - jus tin case any one else going to vegas soon happens to see the thread and check it out.

vegas is actually one of the easiest places to stick to the plan because they have SO much food there!!!  Sushi is doable (fish, steamed white rice, salad no dressing) and is everywhere in vegas!  There is a Whole Food Mkt in Henderson south of town so you can stock up on healthy stuff.  Also, the Venetian has the Canyon Ranch Cafe - specializes in healthy food so they will prepare anything exactly the way you order it.  it's a breakfast/lunch only place - they will make you an egg white omelet with fresh veggies, no oil or butter or salt.

The #1 way to stay OP in vegas is to wake up when you normally wake up and go to bed when you normally go to bed.  Being awake until 4am means you're going to be hungry and tempted to cheat!

Also, i suggest a quick trip to nearby Red Rock Canyon or Mt Charleston - there are some incredible hiking trails out there so you can get some exercise.  Otherwise, almost any casino/hotel in vegas has a fitness center.

If you find yourself stressed over whether or not you can stick to the Plan, go for a nice massage at one of the spas on the strip and just relax and think about being good to yourself!
