    Hello!

    I was wondering if anyone has tried this yet, and what kind of results they are getting.

    I am on a workout routine right now, and scared to switch over, but I know that MT knows what he is talking about. Maybe an expert on this subject can give me some pointers...

    Here is my current routine

    Monday, Wednesday, Saturday-Run

    Tuesday, Thursday-5-4-3 class (5 minutes of cardio, 4 minutes of abs, 3 minutes strength then starts over-we do a lot of jumping jacks, jump rope and step in this class)

    Friday-half and half class (half the class works abs, the other half is strength training)

    I have read through the 12 day book twice, and from what Michael says, I am doing a lot of exercises I shouldn't be doing. Also the intensity with which I do my workouts is a lot more than what he asks for in his workouts. I find it hard to keep my heartrate at 125 (MT says this is my THR) during my runs. Even when I walk/jog it seems like my target heart rate is what I am at during my warm up.


    I have mapped out my workout plan according to his book, and I thought I may start tomorrow morning and give it the 12 days and see if I get better results than what I am getting from my current workouts.

    Any advice, words of wisdom, motivation, feedback from the 12 day miracle would be greatly appreciated. I guess once you are so used to working out a certain way, it is scary to think about changing it and really doing less than what you are doing now. Oh, I also do Windsor Pilates just about every evening. I love them. They make me feel a lot better and I can feel my body getting tighter from doing them. It's only been about two weeks since I started them. I do a 20 minute circle workout on the floor, then I do a 10 minute one that is standing.

    You really are working out quite a lot, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. What I need to know is..what is your goal? Are you trying to lose fat? Build stamina/endurance? Build muscle?

    If you are trying to lose fat and weight, then you are working at a super high intensity, and some of it very high impact at that. You won't be losing fat efficiently doing all this. You mentioned two weeks..is this what  you've been doing for two weeks, or just the Pilates? If you've been at the above regimen longer than two weeks, the question would be "How's that working for you?" You are gaining great endurance, but I wonder if that's your goal...?

    Thanks so much for responding so quickly!

    My goal is to lose about 35 more pounds, but to also tone and tighten everything up. Yes, I have only been doing the Pilates for the past two weeks. The classes I have been taking for about 3 1/2 weeks (it's and 8 week class), running is something I have been doing for months. I was doing a boot camp workout on my own before I changed to the classes. I enjoy the classes, and I can tell I have been doing them, but a lot of what I am doing goes against what Michael says to be doing for my body type.

    My goal is to become thinner, leaner and more sculpted. Of course I want it to happen now lol.

    When Michael says he can transform my body in 12 days, I really believe him. I am just having a hard time letting go of what I have been doing up until now. I don't know if I should finish out my classes and then give his workout a try, or if I am wasting precious time that I could be seeing much more improvement with by doing his workout instead. Uggghhhh why is it so hard to decide???

    I also noticed on the food plan in this book, he added a carb to breakfast for body type B. Oatmeal or brown rice. Does this seem right to you? I could have misread...

    I don't think you misread..remember, the two programs are not exactly identical..just very similar.

    Humm..to quit classes and use just the 12 day plan? Tough one. If I paid for the classes, I KNOW I would continue with them. That being said, if you've got a strict deadline when you need to have the weight and inches off, then I may be tempted to quit. This really will have to be your call. Can you spare the extra time? Your 12 day plan isn't going anywhere. Who knows, give it a few more weeks, you may be happy with the end results. If you quit now, you'll never know!

    I know, I know it is a tough call!! I know I have to decide for myself...you know today in class we did about 100 squats and I was thinking oh no, didn't Michael say if you already have muscular thighs and you want them slimmer do NOT do lunges and squats...CryinCrying" src="http://forums.provida.com/emoticons/emotion-9.gif">

    I am going to the Virgin Islands at the end of this month...the 26th. I am making myself crazy thinking about it. I did manage to stay on my eating plan today. I haven't really been following it too well lately. Had a massive headache...I know that has to be from lack of sugar  lol. Tomorrow will be even better and easier! I am going to try for 12 pounds before I go.

    If you follow the food part 100%, you will see good loses NO MATTER what exercising you are doing. Smile

     Hey i know it will be really hard to rely on my info based on the fact that i don't have my profile finished and have never replied before but trust me i was going thru the same thing you were when i started this program i have a tendency towards big muscular thighs and i love to work out hard and really get that heart rate up.  It was so hard to keep it down i have to force myself to walk but between keeping my heartrate down while i exercise and doing the extra body shaping i swear i have never seen anything shape my thighs slim in my 40 years of life.  also after working out it is easier to not be starving to death or exhausted and therefore easier to eat properly and have what i want in the long run which is enough energy to last all day doing everything that needs to get done while being happy about it.

    hope that helps you make a decision.  i see you only have a few days left before vacation.  Trust me in those few days if you double the reps on your lower body days on the thighs you will see results in days.

    Thanks for the response Bender!

    You say you always liked to work out really hard, which is how I am as well...but then you slowed yourself down to workout how Michael says we should. I am wondering do you use his exercises that he gives for specific areas of the body, or are you still doing what you normally did, only not has hard?

    I have spent the past month with a sinus infection and on three different antibiotics so I just started back at the gym this past Monday. I only did my running last week, and I will add my strength training in this week. I think I am going to go with Michael's 12 day makeover and see what happens! I am still going to run, just not as fast.

    I also wanted to ask you how long do you workout when you are doing strength training? It seems that I remember from the 6WBMO it is 18 minutes or something like that...does that sound right to you?

    Hello hello!

    Just wondering what ever became of this? I've been wondering about the same thing - whether or not I should quit working hard at the gym (because I like to) and just start doing what Michael says to do...Any help would be appreciated!

    When i was in the reduction phase last year I gave up my intense cardio work and my weight training to follow the lower intensity cardio recommendations and use the bands.  Later I converted the band exercises to machines at the gym because that's what I needed to do to make sure I did them.

    My reasoning for this was that a lot of work went into this program to figure out the best way to lose both weight and fat, and since I paid for the program, I should give it a chance as written.  And it sure worked well for me!

    Now that I have been at goal for almost a year I do 45 minutes of weight training (with a plan customized for me by a trainer at my gym) and 30 - 45 minutes of cardio (sometimes intense, sometimes walking in the THR).  At least 1 day a week I do 60 minutes in the program recommended cardio target heart range.

    Oh, I meant to say that I followed the regular 6 week body makeover plan, NOT the 12 day body shaping miracle workout.

    Well, I still haven't been able to give up the way I work out! I am just afraid to since I have been working out so hard. I keep thinking, just do it for 12 days and see what happens...and then I think what if nothing happens? I wasted 12 days.

    Funny that its so hard to change this about myself when I have changed so many other things during this journey.

    I have been working out twice a day here lately. I go to the gym at lunch and walk, do the elliptical or get on the bike for 30 minutes. I go after work for my regular workouts. I really only started back on the plan yesterday. I was on plan the entire day!! I lost one pound! I have been on plan today as well. Tonight is all running for me, so I hope to see more gone in the morning!

    I would love to be able to find someone that actually used the 12 day body shaping miracle.
