Has the scale been moving during the past four weeks? What, if anything, would you do differently?

Has the scale been moving during the past four weeks? Yes & no. I'd lose then gain. What, if anything, would you do differently? At a recent event (picnic), although I packed my own snack foods, I found myself still tempted by some yuk, which I succumbed to. The next event I attend, I will steer clear of the yuk and ick table and carry some green veggies to crunch. I will also carry nuts and fruit for the sweet tooth.

Also, please share one idea that you learned during intersession that will help others who are also on this weight loss journey.
I have learned that through this journey, those who are not taking it with me not only make fun of the way I've changed my food intake, they are hesitant to recognize the changes in my body. I have found that I have to maintain my inner strength and conviction that I am doing what is best for me. Once I've accepted that I am worth the journey, I don't seek the approval of others. They won't see the changes as positive anyway.

    Pam,

I didn't want you to be lonely at the Quad so I stopped in to say hi.  I just pulled the word search off and am going to do it right now as I have no work to do at the job.

How's your garden going?  Also, how is Kimmer doing?

     Hey Linda!

So good to see you POPing along! I know what you mean about the "ups and downs." I have decided I need to stop living lean for a few weeks and get my head back in the game.

Kimmer is doing well . . . is her birthday today! She is back to working the program and is doing well on it.

The backyard is finally pulling together. We went and ordered two trucks worth of rocks tonight. My back is already aching! I couldn't believe that we needed so much they had to bring it in two truck loads. That is the end of it though and I will be able to enjoy it the rest of the summer! Finally!

Glad you enjoyed the word search; I'll try to get a couple more up soon.

Keep plugging along woman! You are doing great!

Linda, that is great that the scale has been down every week for you! Congrats on your success!

And you are so right, the effort is well worth the outcome on the program.  Keep moving in the direction you are headed and you will complete your journey in no time!

    BINGO!

It took me a while, but I finally got five squares in a row:

    1. Journal your food for the day
    2. Post your appreciation of your co-RAs
    3. Drink an extra 20 ounces of water
    4. Give yourself three compliments today
    5. Visit the Food Services Forum

I got plent of other squares, but some were impossible for me to do ("Walk in the rain"--yeah, right. In the summer in California? Don't think so. "Get rid of all the ICK in your home"--well, I live with others who don't follow plan, so that's a no go. "Plan an outing this weekend"--We never go anywhere on federal holidays--and besides we have a party at our house on the 4th, so I better get ready for that.)

Good challenge, Pam. I hadn't been to the Food Services Forum for a while and there were all sorts of good things there.

Now that the holiday is over and the picnics and get-togethers are in the past, would you do anything differently and what will you do for the next get-together to keep you focused.

    Hey Kate!

    How are you?

Well, I guess  you could have held a squirt gun above your head and walked in the rain! We have the same problem here. Most of the communities around us have received rain, but our little burb is so dry. I am out there watering constantly!

I hope you had a great fourth and you are ready to push forward these last two weeks.

    Hi Pam

I hope that you will see some of my dormies in to see you this week. It is one of their assignments this week.

Thanks for all the challenges that you have been posting this semester. I love ones that you have to think. It keeps the mind working. lol I could certainly use that.

Pam, you did a great job looking after the Quad. Of course, I knew that you would.

    Take care.

    Bingo challenge

    Hey NBU students!

Well, it is that time again. The intersession is coming to a close, but we don't want you to be slackers! So here is one final bingo puzzle for you to play this week.

You can earn this icon if you complete all five items in one of the horizontal, vertical, or diagonal rows.

You have all week to complete the bingo!

    Send-off Bingo

Remember, you can click on my siggy which will take you to the Quad Iconmania page where all the opportunities to earn icons are listed.

We hope to see all of you back for Summer Semester that will begin soon. Keep watching for Provost Rachel's post!

    Hey Shirley!

I loved seeing all the NorthEasterns in the Quad this intersession! You have such a great group of students!

I can't believe these weeks have gone by so fast. But am looking forward to seeing everyone for the next semester!

You are a fantastic RA and your students are blessed by yours and Deb's presence!

    Now, try to behave! LOL!

    BINGO, BINGO

    1. Drank an extra 10 oz of water (actually 18 oz.)

    2. Posted in my dorm today.

    3.  Tried a new recipe (Baked Dilled Fish - and it was very good)

    4.  Cook your meals for tomorrow. (That's the benefit of the crock pot)

    5.  Make a short term goal for this week. (I hope to lose 2 lbs. instead of the 1lb losses of the last two weeks.  I kicked up my cardio in the hopes that this helps)

Pam, thanks for all you did in the Quad.  Until the next semester begins I will see you over in the Retreat.  Do enjoy the rest of your summer.

    Linda!

Good job on the bingo! How is the summer treating you? I hope you are keeping out of trouble! Yea, I know, no fun at all!

Yup, I will be visiting the retreat soon. The backyard is almost complete for phase one! Phase two begins next spring and I am not sure if I want to undertake that! But, I must say spreading 3 tons of rock builds the muscles!

    Keep up the good work!
