Hi - My name is Chris and I am a type E. My problem is that I don't eat regular meals and pretty much live on one meal a day. Now I find that I am out of shape and it has really gotten to me. My weight goes to my abdomen area. I have great arms and legs but need to tone them a little. I hate feeling this way and it seems most of the other forums address overeating. I am the under eater who has a hard time drinking water. I would like to correspond with others who also need the support and motivation to keep on the program. I am officially starting tomorrow and would like to find a friend who would like to work with me to keep on going and both achieve our goals. If you are that person, please answer this thread and tell me when you plan to be on line so I can regularly be on too. The media gives us a bag of goods that we have to be all things to everyone but what about to ourselves? That is why I want a friend who knows what it is like to handle everything but now wants to take time to get themselves together. With all the stress we are all under, it is our turn to take care of ourselves. If you feel the same way I do, please respond.
Thanks for listening, Chris

Hi Chris,
I am just starting too. I can't promise everyday, as weekends I am pretty busy, but I will definitely be glad to jump on line during the week to provide you the encouragement that I can.

Hi Tami,
That would be great- we can check in with each other at least twice a week if you want. I have tried the program before and it is easier to do it with someone. On your next post, tell me about yourself and what you need help with. I have lost 4 pounds so far but have a long way to go.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Chris I think you are rigth, it is easier having someone to talk with about dieting situations. I have a co-worker trying the program, and she is an "A". so she is a little jealous of things I get ot eat .. hehehe
About me, let's see. I am 37, single (never maried) and no children, (excpet my cat). I am dating and do hope to have children someday, but I really need to get in better shape for that and to get rid of my high blood pressure (that has snuck in over the past 2 years). I am at the largest I have ever been and do not hope to come back thius weight ever again. Growing up I lived on Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Soda and never gained a pound .. what happens when you get older? I guess I slowed down when I got a desk job, but geez!!
My hardest challenge on the this program is eating everything in order and in a timely manner (I have a post up "Eating in order?", if you wish to see.) By the time I am finishing Breakfast, it's time for a snack, or on my work schedule - lunch. OnceI am at work, I get pulled away from my desk alot. I am trying though. I have moved my AM snack to after lunch, since my breakfast and lunch are so close during the week, and I still lost the 4 lbs last week!!! 8) This put me on a Breakfast, Lunch, Snack, Snack, Dinner, Snack - which works better for me. I'll have to see how it goes this week.
So tell me a little about you? It sounds like you and I have the same challenge on this program, do you have any others?
I am here for ya!!

I would love to get in on this! I just started the program and going it alone is hard. I am almost 46. I have trouble drinking enough water and eating on time too. We are traveling to see family on Friday, and I am concerned about eating right and not skipping meals.

My name is Nicole and I just had my son five months ago (first child). My weight gain started 2.5 years ago when I broke my ankle and tore all the ligaments. It started with me going from 125 lbs to 145 lbs in 6 months of imobility. As I finally was given the release from physical therapy about a year after the injury I was ready to start exercising again and getting back into shape. Within a matter of a few weeks I found out I was expecting our first child. Throughout the pregnancy I had a lot of complications and was still very out of shape from the injury the year prior. I gained 60 pounds throughout the pregnancy and topped out at 211 lbs. In 2006 after some personal issues I had gained 15 pounds and was 140 lbs. I was so frustrated and one of my friends recommended the program. I started and in a matter of a couple weeks was back to 125 lbs and living lean. I had always been slender and averaged 100-125 for my entire life, up until 3 years ago. Since having my son, I have lost 30 pounds over the last 5 months but I am struggling to get back to my normal weight. I have been looking at my 6 week body makeover program and decided that it would be a good time to get started again. I'm very rusty but know I need to start working towards a healthy weight again. My goal is to get down to 135 lbs. I don't see myself being a size 0 or a 2 again, things definitely change after a baby, but I would like to see myself healthy, in shape, and about 135 lbs - pre-ankle and baby weight.
My week is pretty hectic but my goal is to try and participate in the forum 3+ times a week. I am looking for someone to buddy with and would appreciate any support.

Hey Nicole, Welcome aboard. I have just joined too and don't know if it is my place to welcome you but welcome anyway! I was really skinny until I was 24 or 25. I had a series of miscarriages between my 2 children. They are almost 7 years apart. I ate to fill the void. I was also in an abuse marriage, so...I ate. When my baby was 4, I found the courage to leave and happiness and the weight started to balance out. I got down to 165 when I met my husband. He is loving and supportive. After my Dad died and I was threatned with a frivioulous lawsuit (it was dropped 14 months) I gained up to 215. My sweet husband never said a word. Now that I understand why I eat, it helps me to choose better.

Hi Everyone, My problem is drinking water- i hate the taste. As for work, i get so involved and so stressed that will forget to eat. I too could eat anything and now after hitting 40 i gained weight. I start out strong and then fall apart after a few days. My marriage is destroyed since my husband told me to find someone who cares. i did just that but now realize that i don't like the way I look. The gentleman i like would take me at any weight but i really want to do this for me and also for him. Jim is very supportive and because of my height has no idea how self conscious i am about my looks. If i could find someone who i could correspond with, it would be great since i am having a hard time sticking with this program. hope this finds you well and please keep in touch. i will be there for you chris

Hey Chris, A loving supportive man is hard to find. I glad that you have found one. My second husband is amazing. He never said a word about my 50 pound weight gain (no babies, just food), but is excited about me losing weight. I am not a big fan of water either. "> I am lucky to get in 5 glasses a day. Now if I could afford Dasani water I would drink my full portion every day. That is the only water that I like, so that is one of my rewards. Sometimes I will just stand in the kitchen and drink down a glass because I must have it whether I want it or not. Speaking of it is 5:30 and I have only had 2 glasses, I better get busy or I will be going to the bathroom all night long! Ahhh, to be over 40.

Jills & Chris,
Thanks for the welcome. I am glad to hear that you are doing better and that you are in a happy marriage now. I am still considered a newly wed. My husband and I had been planning our wedding and less than 2 weeks before the wedding we found out we were expecting. We joke with family and friends that he (our son) was our wedding present, a little early.
I too was "skinny" up until a few years ago. I was 28. My husband wishes I were what he calls "my old self" again. He is not happy that I gained so much weight with our son. I joked with him that the reason I gained so much was because our son was so big. He was 9 1/2 lbs (a week early) and at 5 months he is nearly 20 lbs. He's not fat either, just very well built. I saw pictures of myself from the last 5 years and the pictures from my mid twenties were scary - I was too skinny. I actually looked bony. I would definitely like to be slender again, but not too skinny.
As for the water...the subject I see being a priority...I don't struggle here. I found if I get a large cup (52 oz) - I actually use a "Quiktrip" fountain drink cup and find that I end of filling the cup a second time before the end of the day. The trick is having a bottle and/or cup that is big enough without feeling like your drinking from a gallon jug. This helps me drink all the water needed without feeling like I'm drinking too much.
My biggest hurdle is skipping meals. When things get hectic and I am running around I tend to skip meals, which as we know is a big no-no for our body type. Explains why its been harder to lose weight lately.
The other struggle I have is exercise. My husband wants to gain weight (he wants to be over 200 lbs) he wants to be more muscular and he really pushes the gym thing. I dislike the gym with a passion and enjoy activities. I like to not feel like exercising and feel like having fun or playing a game (like tennis). So, the rountines for the body sculpting come across boring to me and I am trying to remind myself that they are really important for me to keep up with.
Thank you."You can do this!" That's what I keep telling myself and its helping.
Nicole

Hey Chris, You sound like a perfect E. I think of myself as a skinny girl until I look in the mirror. I was REALLY skinny until after my first child and then normal until my second. When I have to be out and miss a meal or several. I pre-pack a lunch tote with a freezer pack (injury pack) in the bottom and just eat when it is time. That has helped lots. Today we were at the beach, so I ate last night's dirty rice for my MMS and another bag of dirty rice and broccoli for my lunch. I got home in time for my MAS. "> I don't enjoy exercise, but an too uncoordinated to play a sport. I have a hard time just walking and keeping my heart rate at the optimal level. If there is any kind of incline the rate just shoots up.

Hello My fellow E's
Sorry I have been out on Vacation. Went camping with family, including a 2yr old and realize more than ever how out of shape and fat I have gotten over the years. I really need to focus and take my health serious.
I see a few posts about drinking water. I too hate it, especially the fact that it makes me run to the bathroom way more than I like. As for drinking it, I prefer it really cold, so I have an insulated mug at my desk. As for the taste, well I have tried a few things that have helped a little: 1) lemon juice (not my favorite but it is something you can purchase at a grocery store) 2) orange slice 3) (best for me) Natural oils there are tons of flavors- I add a few drops in my glass and it gives it a little flavor and smell. Try a natural store, massage therparist may sell you some or a metaphysical store.
Alright team, we can do this!!!! It's just water!!!
- Tami

Ok, so it happend. I cheated. I won't go into details to tempt anyone, but my questions is. Lets say I ate something amazing, that would count as a carb plus all of the other forbidden things. Should I have skipped the next meal or have immediately gone back on plan with the next meal?

I have done the same .. I have heard/read it's best to go back to the plan at whatever step you should be in. Not too worry, we all step away once in a while.
Hang it there

Hey SnowSurfStars, How are you doing on the plan? I have been out of town for 8 days and gained 7.5lbs back. I am back POP today. Check out the Asylum. The map to get there is below. They are an awesome motivation and support group that post often and you won't be left hanging. Jill

Hey, I am doing great!! I gained, but almost got it back off as of today. My hardest tiems are the weekends when I am always on the go!! I need to figure that out a little better. Learning slowly.
Sorry you gained during your outing, but I know you can jump right back in and lose it again. I'll check out that site.
Thanks

Hi all-
My name is Theresa I bought the plan years ago I tried it a few times but could never get past the first week...Congrats to me made it through week one. Lost 4 pounds I also would like to lose about 25 - 30 pounds. Just seems slow when I hear how some people are losing 10 pounds the first week. But I have to remember that 4 is better than none. I guess another of my problems is finding better ways to cook veggies I am not big on those and I know they are free foods and should use them to fill up on. I have found several very good recipes that are helping me through some of the things so that is good. I made Kathy's Sunshine Pancakes they are great, and the meatloaf on the card even my husband loved it, I also made the Frozen Sorbet also very good. I will keep checking in - I am in VA and get to work early so I will check in then it will help me also. Coffee and a chat will hopefully keep me focused.

Teresa, 4 lbs is great! You are not far from you goal weight. Those of us that are tend to lose the weight more quickly that first week is often because there is so much to lose. I also find that if I don't follow the plan EXACTLY as written ~ protein carb fruit veggie ratios ~ I don't lose that day. I finally copied the card (front and back) onto the front of a piece of card stock and posted it on my refrigerator and that has helped. I keep meaning to copy it and keep it in my purse for when I am not at home, but I keep forgetting to. If you like garlic, pick up a jar of roasted garlic and some frozen green beans and steam them together, nothing else is needed. They are great.
