Comments: THANK YOU JANET for Tuesday's question about creativity and "Is there something that you've never done before that you'd like to try?"  Yesterday, I called about a beginning Line Dancing class and they were still accepting students.   I signed up for an hour class each Wed. night for 8 weeks.  There were 10 women and 2 men--tonight we learned the electric slide.   It was fun!  Thank you thank you thank you!!

    Question Of The Day

    Wednesday 8/19/09

Let go of one commitment. In order to get your life unpacked you need some time. Free up some time by delegating a commitment to someone else (...say picking up the kids one day each week - ask your neighbor, husband, wife, friend, another mom, etc.) Maybe you can cut out that golf league that you really don't enjoy, or maybe you just say no when someone asks you to be a member on another board. Or, maybe you can give up an hour of TV. We all have those times when there's nothing on TV and yet we sit and watch it anyway.

What commitment or time waster can you pack up and move out?

For me, it would be spending time on the computer that isn't necessary.  I mean when I could and should be doing school work, or housework.  I love to design and build up my graphic design portfolio, but I need to find a rhythm and sked and stick to here.  I can get all I want done, but it will just take discipline and determination.  That is one of the things I want to get back in the habit of doing ~ keeping to a set schedule.  Thanks for this one too!

Mary Beth ~ I showed my DS your post regarding Farm Town and he looked at me and said “I Win!” I have bugged him about how much time he spends on that farm and so now he feels he’s been validated, since an adult is doing it too. Your new additions are absolutely adorable.

Janet, ask our dear friend Michelle about her farm.... hehe she is the one who got me going on Facebook I have 35 neighbors on my farm and only one of them is a kid, my  great nephew.... Well that might be true age wise but not really if you count mentality

I have really been going through some rough stuff, and its not over by a long shot, but I am feeling better emotionally.  I am going to try to participate more and be my normal cheerful self.  I hate that I was checked out half of our first week at NBU, but I pledge to do better.

We have such a great dorm!  You guys are awesome and so supportive.  I love reading your encouraging words to each other!

Hello everyone. Hope you all had a great night. Once I fell asleep, I did okay. Headache finally gone.

Well we have to vote today on mascot, motto & cheer. Is anyone going to submit some ideas or will we be voting on just mine. Come on... I know we have some creative people in her.. I've seen it. So put your thinking caps on and give me some ideas. That way we will still have time to vote. I'll be back at break time to collect them and create a voting post.

I will also post the badges at that time too.

I would have to say it must be TV.  Now that I have cable, I watch it constantly.  But I should give some of that time to reading and other more important things.

Queen, I'm sorry to say this, but if you only had three meals, even though they were OP, you are not considered POP for the day.  You must eat all 5 meals and on time to be able to answer "Yes" to food.  I hope DD is feeling better.

But on another note YEAH! for not giving in to ICK.

Just remember not to overdo it with your workouts, you don't want to overwork your muscles either.  Make sure you are giving them the rest they need too.

    Sparkyjs65:

Sandy ~ First I must say, I loved your wacky this morning. I copied it and emailed it to a bunch of my friends. I too spend a little too much time in front of the TV. I think I will try spending that time reading and maybe even meditating. What is Farkle? Where do you go to play? I love computer games.

Farkle is a game on Facebook.  It's played with 6 dice and you click on the cup to make the dice roll.  It's very similar to Yahtzee, however you get multiple rolls for each level.  There are 10 levels per game.  If you roll the dice and there are no points available to you in that roll - you "Farkle" which means you've lost all of the points you've accumulated on that level.  If you want to advance to the next level - you just have to "bank" your points to keep from losing them.  The problem comes when you don't know when to bank them - and you think you can go ... 'just one more roll'... I would not be very good in Vegas because the game is a gamble (without losing money, tho').  It's a real time-waster - but you get to play against all of your friends who play.  Of all of my 'friends' on facebook, I usually always have the highest score - but that's only because I keep playing & playing & playing.  You can earn "chips" and buy extra levels which helps get your score even higher.  Farkle keeps track of your "All time High Score" and your "monthly High Score" and your "weekly high score" so that you can see what you've done.  I'm just grateful that it doesn't keep track of all of my low scores!!  LOL!!

Judy welcome to Bengal Hall. Glad you could make it. My closet is full of clothes that are just a little too tight to wear. Since my last fall off the 6WBMO wagon I gained it all back and I absolutely refuse to buy larger clothes, so I have just a few items that fit well enough to wear. So that too is a motivator for me. What kind of books do you like to read? And what kind of movies do you like?  Find a room, unpack, complete your beginning stats and then get to know everyone and get ready for the fun!

For anyone needing assistance in posting their badge in their signature.

    1.  Go to the post where I placed the badges (HERE).

    2.  Go to the badge with your name and make a copy of it (right click your mouse over it and select copy).

    3.  Now go into your profile and click on "Upload a Signature" button.

    4.  A window will pop up with a blank signature box.

    5.  Right click your mouse again and select paste and you should see your badge there.  Select "OK" and window will close.

    6. Now select "View your Signature" button and select the signature that has your badge and make it active and click "Submit".

    7.  Once that is done click "Submit" button on profile page and your done.

    8.  Come back to the dorm and see your badge on your posts.

    Hope This Helps!

    Question Of The Day

    Thursday 8/20/09

When unpacking the negative thinking, which one is the hardest to let go of? Why do you think this is?

I've always had a very negative self-image.  Even tho' I grew up in what I felt was a lot like a "Leave it to Beaver" world, my mother would never have been mistaken for June Cleaver by me.  Only by everyone else that was looking in to our "fish-bowl" life.  There were 5 girls in our family and my father was a Baptist preacher, so everyone watched everything we did.  Don't get me wrong - I had a pretty decent life.  We were poor, but my parents loved us in their own way.  The thing is - 2 of my sisters have their Master's and all of my sister's are financially well off.  I've just always felt like the "black sheep" of the family, even tho' I went to college for 2 years.  I always felt over-weight or out of place.  I never truly believed that anyone could love me.  I've never really felt good enough.  Maybe I need therapy.  LOL!!

This isn't a "pitty party" - this is just my life.  The only time I truly felt good about myself was when I had lost the 82 pounds back in 2006/2007.  I still wasn't at my goal weight, but I was headed in the right direction and my job was good - my kids were grown and for the first time in my life - I felt confident in who I was.  Until I get around my sisters and start comparing sizes, intellegence & income.
