Hello- I am vegetarian, but started eating fish a few years ago. I recently bought 100% Whey Protein powder to vary my menu a bit, although I know it is not recommended in large amounts either. I also know we should use Tofu sparingly. To complicate matters further, I don't eat eggs. What can I do for a protein that I can rely on as my main source? I was getting really settled into eating fish, as it is great cold as a snack as well, but now I know I need to limit my consumption. I should also mention that I am body type B, so I can't have carbs until lunch, which makes breakfast really tough. Does anybody have any insight into what is the best protein choice for somebody in my situation? Or any fruit/ protein breakfast recipes? If I do end up using the protein powder, can I throw it in a stir fry? Or is it only to be used cold? I would REALLY appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!! (Also- how the heck do I make it so my posts show up spaced and formatted how I wrote them? Instead of one giant run on paragrah?)

First off, I'm curious on why it is unsafe for you to consume more than 12oz of fish in a week.  If your concern is about mercury in fish, you may want to research what types are available in your area that have little to no mercury content.

I'm guessing you've already read this thread for information on Protein sources that have worked well for others.

Variety seems to give the best results for most of our members.

Using the pure whey protein 1-2 times a day might work well, especially if you find that you like it in either fruit smoothies or mixed into a coffee drink to conveniently have with other foods.  I'm not aware of folks stirring in with vegetables, yet mixing it into oatmeal has worked for some.

Some web browsers offer more compatibility than others.  We typically recommend the most recent version of either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

Yeah, this was the problem. I will research better options for lower mercury, but everything I read online (albeit probably alarmist), told me to limit my consumption to 9-12 oz a week.

    Thanks!
