    • Morning Gang – So I just finished working out and now am on my second load of laundry before I bring the boys to Pre-School.  My oldest has been sick since Monday so it is his first day back at school (he only goes T/Th).
    • True – I am so thrilled that you made the comment about not focusing on the scale.  That’s my biggest problem when it comes to dieting – I’m an obsessive scale user – and if I see a slight gain when I shouldn’t it often sends me into a binge.  After reading this comment I’d like to add an additional little challenge for myself – to ONLY weigh myself once a week – for my weekly stats AND THAT’S IT!  I know it is going to be very tough but I think I can do it.  You’ve got 2 minis too!  That’s crazy!  What type?  Mine are piebalds… one is a short haired black and white and the other is a long haired brown and white.

    • Kim – Welcome to NBU… it’s a really fun way to use the plan!  I’m sure you’ll really enjoy yourself here!

    Hi Ernie, thanks for the warm welcome.  I see you are in MD too.  And I know I have seen you and Marj in the NBU postings before.  The icons and fonts you both all use are so cool.  I am challenged by your creativity.  How do you find all the icons and use the differenct fonts?  Each time I post I have to select my font and at times I lose that font while typing.

    Hi True, Thanks for being RA.  My goal is to post everyday, keep on top of the postings and get to know the dormies.  I have probelms keeping track of all the folks and the posting....I do get mixed up.

    Paula – I grew up in the Far North Burbs (Lake County). My Parents still live there (in Kane County). I too love horses, my DH keeps wanting to buy one for me, which I wouldn’t mind, however, we’d have to board it, and I know that it would be way too easy to forget about it with it not HERE.     This is going to be quick.  I scheduled a lunch date and play today.  That was BEFORE I agreed to become part of NBU this semester.  I will be back after the play.

    I checked out the restaurant's menu and I will be having a salmon salad that has roasted potatoes in it.  I don't like dressing anymore, so I will be popping right along, even with going out.  woo hoo.

    The play I will be seeing is Xanadu (or however you spell it)

    In fact, I need to get going.  I am the car pool for the group this month.  We try to do something once a month at least. I will see you all very soon and give you a review.  LOL

    We're all foodies - everyone loves to cook. My house must have a revolving-door - people move in and out often. We live in wine country, and belong to 3 good wineries.

     

     

    My occupation or what I do all day is:  quasi-retired; web design; educational technology (training folks to use tech in the classroom); very involved with my church - Old Mission Santa Inés; I organize the annual women's retreat; cook for the local friars once a month; have a close friends who is a priest. We're attending a Marian Eucharistic Conference this weekend and I'm a little concerned about my eating!

    Which part of the plan is easiest for you (drinking 100 oz. of water, eating 5-6 times per day, cardio 5x’s a week, or sculpting 2x’s a week):     drinking the water - I like water

    Which part is the hardest?    eating 5-6 times per day - I am a former starvation dieter

    The best suggestion I have for my dorm mates:   be determined - you CAN do this - if you want it badly enough, you WILL do this! keep laughing! (oh - was that supposed to be one thing?)

    What do you think we can do to help you succeed?  just keep giving me information and encouragement!

    DH and I are cancer survivors, which is one reason we both retired at 55. We want to travel and enjoy our lives together without the stress of full time work hampering us. We have 4 beautiful children and 4 adorable SOs - hoping for marriages and grandchildren one of these days. I've used Adkins to lose 50 pounds - then was diagnosed and gained about 25-30 pounds back - I want to lose that weight and stay slender and healthy!
