What do you like best
about living there? It's the country!

children, pets etc.):

We're all foodies - everyone loves to cook. My house must have a revolving-door - people move in and out often. We live in wine country, and belong to 3 good wineries.
My occupation or what
I do all day is: quasi-retired; web design; educational
technology (training folks to use tech in the classroom); very involved with my church - Old Mission Santa Inés; I organize the annual women's retreat; cook for the local friars once a month; have a close friends who is a priest. We're attending a Marian Eucharistic Conference this weekend and I'm a little concerned about my eating!

favorite way to have fun): reading, crafts, being
creative, photography

My short-term goal for

My biggest cheerleader
is: DH!

NBU Experience:
Have you been in a
dorm before, if so what aspects did you like best? I am a brand new 6WBMO
woman!
Did you have any jobs
in your previous dorm? na
Why did you enroll in
NBU for this semester? to jump-start my
understanding of 6WBMO
Challenges/Suggestions:
Which part of the plan
is easiest for you (drinking 100 oz. of water, eating 5-6 times per day, cardio
5x’s a week, or sculpting 2x’s a week): drinking the water - I like water
Which part is the
hardest? eating 5-6 times per day - I am a former starvation dieter
The best suggestion I
have for my dorm mates: be determined - you
CAN do this - if you want it badly enough, you WILL do this! keep laughing! (oh - was that supposed to be one thing?)
What do you think we
can do to help you succeed? just keep giving me
information and encouragement!
General Information:
Do you keep a
journal? i.e., for food, water, exercise? yes, I found one on another forum and am filling it in
My favorite form of
exercise is: treadmill, walking outdoors (I live in California, and it's relatively warm)
Where I like to go think
is: take a walk alone; or the shower
My favorite kitchen
gadget is: immersion blender (second favorite might wind up being my George Foreman Grill!)
Last movie I watched
in a theater was: Julie & Julia
My favorite TV show(s)
is/are: murder, mystery and mayhem: NCIS, Forensic Files, Operation Repo - I also like to turn the noise off sometimes and enjoy blessed silence!
Finish this
sentence: I love the smell of . . . baking bread,
applesauce cooking, pumpkin pie, freshly cut grass, babies, freesias, roses,
garlic... I think I'm a bit of a "foodie"
Please share any
additional information about yourself as you would like. Please do not post
email addresses and/or telephone numbers (for your own protection only share
that through PMs).
DH and I are cancer survivors, which is one reason we both retired at 55. We want to travel and enjoy our lives together without the stress of full time work hampering us. We have 4 beautiful children and 4 adorable SOs - hoping for marriages and grandchildren one of these days. I've used Adkins to lose 50 pounds - then was diagnosed and gained about 25-30 pounds back - I want to lose that weight and stay slender and healthy!
