Hi,
liz, that's a thought about treating foods that are not good for the body. There are alot of things I never take/eat because they are bad like margarine, creamer "crap"--all chemicals, drugs (OTC or otherwise), etc, so I should think of "ick" that way.
Kelly, congrats on losing 5# already. Isn't that wonderful!!
Tiffany, one meal at a time is prob. the way I'm going to have to do to be POP.

Ok, it took me a half hour to start the darn thing and almost the loss of 2 fingers, but I did it!!!! I was so happy to have the thing running, that not only did I do my Driveway and walk, but my neighbor's too. However, the plans I had for the 45 minutes on the treadmill....not happening. Saving my energy for the next burst of snow heading our way.
Love reading all your posts...congratulations to those of you who have already lost some weight..that is FANTASTIC! Keep it up! Stay POP!

Hello Everyone and WELCOME to all of you I haven't welcomed yet!

Hope you all are having a good day...I guess my day has been good for me but you would have to live here in my home to know what I mean. I was reading the post and am glad to see we have some dog lovers. I have 3 Cocker Spaniels and a Cockatiel. I must tell the story of these creatures who think they are human for you to see on one hand how trired I am right now LOL and yet the joy I feel all the time with these characters we claim as our own.
The normal one in our home is Phoebe...she is an 11 year old Cocker who is mother to the other 3... She puts up with a lot but when they cross the line she lets them know.
Barney is 2 1/2 years old and a rescue Cocker from down South. I recieved a phone call from a rescue ORG. one day 2 years ago and they said they had a badly abuse Cocker who was going to be put down unless someone could take her. Of course we did and they brought her up to Maryland and we met and when we saw him we cried. He had been kept in a tiny crate and never bathed .His hair was matted and full of sores. His ear canals are disfigured from massive infections and he didn't know how to walk from being confined. So Barney as we named him came home with us and went straight to the vet and groomer and after a few months he was as good as new. Today Barney is so full of piss and vinegar I can hardly keep up with him. But he is as sweet as can be always wanting a kiss.
Next I have Emma our 1 year old Cocker who I believe was sent to us to make my life very interesting. She is the most rotten dog I know and reminds me day and night who she thinks is in charge. She is the boss and instead of kisses like Barney she likes to chase me around the yard .In the house it's a bite in the butt when I'm not looking and then she takes off and hides.
Ok now I must not forget Bob the cockatiel who my DIL found on her front lawn and coaxed into a box. After 2 weeks of ads and posters around town, she called me and asked if we would take him because of allergies in my son. Well what a trip he has been. He is sitting on my shoulder as we speak. He talks all the time unless we cover him up. He will yell at the dogs and there he is leaning over my shoulder looking in my face saying "doing Momma?" over and over. He will keep me entertained except Emma thinks he should play with her.
So this is why I am tired most of the time. My husband of 45 years takes over for me on the weekend most days, Thank Heavens.
Now that I have bored you to death I will take my leave and try to get Bob back in his cage.

Good evening girls.. Had a long day at work but planned my meals this morning and wrote each meal on the container and packed it and took it to work and put it in the fridge and ate each meal 2 1/2 hours apart.. Also got in 100+ OZ. Of water in today too. Now to plan tomorrow. I have read all of the posts here and now off to another board... Got in a 30 min walk today also...

Helloooooo Dolphin Hall,
Yes, I am back after a full day of lunch, a play (the musical Xanadu), and coffee talk with friends. I had a BLAST with friends of mine. We haven't been together since before Christmas, so we had LOTS to catch up on.
AND I have had waayyyyy too much coffee, which means you might be punned to death tonight. LOL. And then, I have so much to catch up on, maybe you will live to be punned another day. muhahahaha

Oh My Everyone! 63 Posts the first day how in the world am I going to get caught up with you all?
I can see with this group I will need to get my reading glasses on and get to work.
Tru let me say that it is interesting that you ended up with alot of ladies from the Asylum! I guess you just got lucky or Rachel is trying to tell you something LOL.
As for your question yes I will be like Switzerland while in the Quad did you notice I threw the first snowball at you (he he he). Well my only exception will be during the pep rally next week. Do not worry I will kick some butt expecially penguin butt lol. You know my first semester was 2 years ago in penguin hall and I still have some graphics I could change up a little LOL.
Ernie I am so glad you are ARA this semester! You are an awesome motivator and we are all so luck to have you here.
Sue and Sherry! Wow I am so glad you are here it is like we have never left isn't it (well except for a few extra pounds yes I have been a very bad girl). marj ~ I haven't "crafted" in a while. I am trying to get back into taking time out for me...as I haven't over the last, oh i'd say, 4 years or so. And trust me, I was miserable when I don't take time for myself! When I did, I would make those "naughty" dolls that look like they have been put into a corner. I have made clothes in the past, potholders, curtains...so some sewing, and then also scrapbooking. I used to make floral wreaths too. I'd say for right now, my most charished one is scrapbooking.
boy, you ladies like to talk! (it's a good thing, 'cause so do I)! Took me about 45 min to catch up.
Now it is time to say ....goooodddd nnniiiggghhhttt!

Only One Pound
Hello, do you know me? If you don't you should. I'm a pound of fat, and I'm the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.
Want to know why? It's because no one ever wants to lose me; I'm Only One Pound, just a pound.
Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds or fifteen pounds, but never only one, so I just stick around and happily keep you fat.
Then I add to myself ever so slyly so that you never seem to notice it, that is until I've grown to ten, twenty or even more pounds in weight.
Yes, it's fun being Only One Pound of fat, left to do as I please. So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying "Oh, I only lost one pound." ( as if that were such a terrible thing!) For you see, if you do this you'll encourage others to keep me around because they will think I'm not worth losing. And I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you.

Marj,
We have about 1/2 acre fenced in that the dogs "exercise" in.... Thankfully I don't have to walk them! I love my Wii Fit... though as with most things, I start out strong, then peter out... i've done 2 days so far this week, and i'll be doing it again in the morning. It's great for keeping track of my weight and BMI and the yoga exercises are great for stretching. I have bad knees, so I have to be careful what I do with them.

NBU Winter 2010 Contract an In-Dorm Icon Assignment
NBU is about commitment.
So is weight loss!
If you put something in writing
you are more likely to reach that accomplishment.
If you read what you wrote each day,
it is more likely you will achieve it.
If you read it aloud each day, it's even more likely.

When you write out your contract below you have the option of adding in your goal for this semester.
When you read your contract each morning,
you will automatically read your goal as well!
It's good to keep that goal front and center.

Are you ready to earn your first icon of the new semester?
For those of you who complete the NBU Contract before the end of Week One, you will receive the following icon for your signature.

Please print the following post and place it on the fridge or closet door or somewhere where you can see it each day. Possibly even on the mirror in the bathroom or by the computer. It will serve as a reminder of the commitment you have made to NBU (and to yourself!) for the next six weeks.
NBU works best when everyone gives to the group and takes what they need. So do it, make that commitment to jump in feet first! The more you give to your dormmates the more you will receive in the end. You may also find that the more you help your dormmates, the more you will LOSE

Woo Hoo, I am almost caught up. Only a couple more things then I can throw snowballs, pun you to death or even crack a joke.
Well here is a joke for you to wake up to even if I still have a couple more things to do. muhaha:
Film producers wanted to make a movie about classical music composers starring Leonardo Dicaprio, Hugh Grant and Arnold Schwarzenegger. They ask Leonardo who he wants to be and he answers "I want to be Beethoven because I've always liked him". Next they ask Hugh and he says "I want to be Mozart because I've always liked him" lastly they ask Arnold and he says "I'll be Bach!"
