The first time I started this plan was when my twin sister had been successful and lost about 65 lbs. I was successful - I lost 50 pounds. Had more to go, but then i got sick with a very bad gall bladder. I had to have it removed - it got to the point that I couldn't eat plain steamed broccoli without getting sick. Having my gall bladder out totally freaked me out & I litterally forced myself to go off plan every day - until I gained all the weight back & more. One day about 1 & 1/2 years later a co-worker told me that she bought the plan after some people she talked to told her about my sisters success & that I had done it as well. She started asking me all these questions & it just made so much sense as we were talking about the plan that i decided that night to go back on plan. I went back on plan the next day (4/20/08) & it was like i never went off. I fell right back into the routine. My goal was to lose 30 lbs by our summer vacation. I did that & was able to stay on plan for 2 weeks on vacation in Florida & North Carolina - all meals except 4. Not 4 days - 4 meals. This time is different - I don't know how to explain it, but I know that I will always eat this way - it makes too much sense not to - something clicked when i was talking to my coworker that day. The 1st time around, i would find ways to sneak off plan foods. Now I don't even want to. Today I am 15 pounds from goal & have never felt better. Even though it is the Holiday season & my mom, sister & I make about 20 different kinds of cookies to give as gifts - i have not tried or wanted to try 1 single cookie. I really feel that i am finally in control of what I eat.
