Keeping my eye on the prize!

It seems to me that I have always struggled to stay at a healthy weight. My anorexic mother was constintly telling me how fat I was and putting me on some INSANE diet. I'm talking from the age of 10! So, even though I had a bad metabolism, from all the childhod dieting, I still managed to stay at a healthy weight up until I had my twins. I looked good after I had them, I just had about 15 lbs. to loose to be back at my pre-pregnancy weight. But in trying to loose those pounds I injured my knee. The pounds went on very fast. So fast in fact that my doctor thought I might have a thyroid condition, but I don't. Just an extremely slow metabolism. Since then I have had two more children, and gained weight with both. I know that my children are more than worth the weight I gained. I love them so much. However, I would like to be alive long enough to see them have children of their own. If I continue down the path I was on I know that wouldn't be possilble. So, I have started a new life. I am comitted to making this program/life-style work for me. Update: After 18 weeks I had a loss of 40.2 lbs. I stop "dieting" and regained 16.5 lbs in a little over a year. Part of my problem was not treating this as a life-style change. It's not a diet!! It's a new way of living. I am back for good and starting over.
