THIS IS AN UPDATE FROM MY ORIGINAL STORY I am a firm believer in the 6WBMO!! I know that if you do this plan exactly as Michael teaches you that you WILL lose weight and make over your body. You will eat more often and eat more food than you ever had on previous weight loss plans. You will not have to make yourself workout for hours and hours each day to see the fat just melt away!! I learned so much from doing this plan. Not just about nutrition and how the human body works, but about MY body and how IT works. And the best part is that it is NOT brain surgery. Late on an evening in March of 2003 I was standing in the bathroom putting the handful of pills in my hand to take that night, as I had done every night for several years. I was taking the maximum dosage of Glucophage and Avandia (diabetes medications). I just looked at myself in the mirror and saw myself without filters. I was 44 years old and I was taking the SAME medication that my 70 year old parents take. The next week I went to the doctor for a check up. He told me that my cholesterol was over 300 and my blood pressure was getting way too high. He said that if I didn’t get it under control in the next 3 months that I would have to go on MORE medication. I was so depressed!! That night, I couldn’t sleep. I was up in the middle of the night, flipping through the channels when I came across the infomercial for the Six Week Body Makeover. It really spoke to me. I was touched my Michael Thurmond’s sincerity and by the testimonials that were on that show. The next morning I went to the computer and ordered the plan. I knew that I needed to do something. I also decided that this would be the LAST time I would spend any money on a weight loss plan, so, if this didn’t work, I would just resolve myself to being fat. This plan was really my last hope. I loved putting my blueprint together. I especially loved when I turned my body shape blueprint over and saw the body that was waiting inside of me. I felt empowered! I lost 10 pounds in my first week. I lost 6 pounds in my second week. By the end of my first 6 weeks, I had lost 26 pounds and over 40 inches off my body. I went to my doctor in May and when he walked in the room, his face lit up. My lab work showed that I no longer needed ANY medicine to control my diabetes, and in fact, he told me that if he didn’t know my history, the lab work showed me as a NON-diabetic. My Cholesterol dropped to 160 and my blood pressure was BETTER than normal. I truly had begun making over my body, from the INSIDE as well as the outside. Every week I saw results! And that means I saw the scale drop and inches loss every single week. I lost a steady 2-3 pounds most weeks. In just 6 months I had reached my goal weight. The highlight of my journey was being selected to come to LA to film the new version of the infomercial. I met some people that became my dearest friends. I got to meet BMOS Dolores and feel her genuine spirit and desire to help us all. I also had the opportunity to personally thank Michael Thurmond for changing my life. I know that I will never be that heavy woman again. I have learned so much about my body in this last year. Living Lean has its challenges, but I don’t look at food the same way anymore. And, the best part, is that when the scale does go up after vacations and events where I have “celebrated” a bit too much, I know exactly what to do to get me back on track. The Six Day Mini Makeover, is a wonderful way to get yourself back on the “losing” path and to get the toxic food out of my system Thank you, Michael Thurmond and Dolores and all my friends here on the boards for helping me through my journey. ORIGINAL PROFILE STORY I am 44 years old and I have had eight children, two daughters and six sons. I have been married for 23 years. I have tried all the most popular diets. I have always been successful at losing weight, but just not keeping it off. I was not a heavy child, but when I was around 15 years old, I started to see weight creep on. I lost 20 pounds during one summer, just by riding my bike a couple miles each weekday on my way to and from a daily babysitting job. I gained and lost 10-15 pounds through college. When I got married I weighed 135, and looked pretty good. Size 9/10 (1980 sizes, now a 7/8) I had my first baby and only gained 22 pounds, but, after she was born, during breast feeding, I began to gain. My daughter was 4 months old the day I found out that I was having my second child. I gained more than with my first, but again, it was after the birth that the pounds came on. When that daughter was 3 months old I went on the infamous Cambridge Diet. All liquid. I lost all the pounds fast, and maintained until baby # 3. I did Herbal Life after him, and returned to my pre-married weight. I did pretty well to keep the weight off for a year or so, then baby #4. This was harder, and I gained more than usual. I did not lose all the extra baby weight, but when he was 7 months old I went to Diet Center. I lost 25 pounds in two months, not quite all the weight, when I found out about baby #5. I had a stressful move when he was 3 weeks old, to a new place and no friends. Also, my husbands new job required him to travel 50 - 75%. I gained a lot of weight during that time. When my baby was 9 months old, I was 200 pounds and expecting #6. I only gained 15 pounds, but still was 203 after. I joined Weight Watchers, and found success. It was slow, but I lost 56 pound over a year and a half. And it was healthier than those liquid diets. I looked great for quite some time, and was 5 pounds from my goal when I had to go on steroids for a TERRIBLE skin condition. I gained 60 pounds in 7 months. In Dec 1991, I learn I am expecting #7. I only gain 11 pounds, but the effects of the steroids slowed my metabolizm to nothing. I really didn't try to lose weight for several years, and the result was that I just kept gaining. I hit my highest at around 245 or 250. I was a size 24. I did a stint with Nutri Systems, and I did not like their food. And, I was hungry all the time. I lost about 15 pounds, but gained back 5 - 10 within months. In the fall of 1995, I joined W.W. again, lost 20 pounds, and I was diagnosed as having Type 2 Diabetes. I found out in Dec 1995 I was expecting #8. I was perfect in my eating. I wouldn't do anything to hurt my baby. I was on insulin shots during the pregnancy. I actually lost weight during the pregnancy, but like usual, the pounds crept back on post partum. Also, I was in denial about the diabetes, and would not eat properly. In August of 1998 I bought the Protein Power program. I was at 230 pounds. I found success with that, and lost more than 40 pounds by December. But, the week of Christmas, my then 2 1/2 year old baby son was rushed to the pediatric intensive care unit, diagnosed with Type 1 Insulin Dependant Diabetes. We almost lost him. The whole experience broke my stride, and I never could go back to eating that high protein way again, with so little carbs. It took longer this time for all the weight to come back, but it did. At 237 pounds on May 20, 2002 I went back on the W.W. program. A friend and I did it together, without joining. I lost 27 pounds by the end of last year, but could not survive Christmas. In six weeks I gained back all but 10 of those pounds lost. Frustrated, I saw, as I had seen for several years, the 6 Week Body Makeover infomercial. I decided, what did I have to lose, except the weight, and so much of what Michael T. said made so much sense. My friend and I both bought the program and started just over a week ago. We both lost 10 pounds in the first week. I was never hungry, and I couldn't believe how quickly I adjusted to no salt. I am very optimistic. I have been uplifted by all the success stories, and really believe that I can do this. I know that I have always been able to lose weight on all the diets that I have been on, but I've not been able to keep the weight from coming back. I am excited to try something that I think will take me through out the rest of my life. .
