I have always struggled with being overweight as a teenager, and now in my twenties. When I was a college freshman, I went from 155lbs to 135lbs. Then, when I acquired a lazy boyfriend, the pounds started to creep up again. After I eventually broke up with him, I concentrated on finishing my last years in college (it took 5 years because of my double major).
My dream is to become a successful music performer. I had sent a demo to my uncle, who works in sales at a record company. He then passed along (through my grandmother and then to my mom!) the message that he unbiasedly thinks that I "have what it takes." Unfortunately, my weight didn't. I was the largest I ever was, at 165lbs.
Devastated, my mom started the "you need to lose weight" lecture that I've been hearing all of my life. I was annoyed at her because I was just starting to accept who I was. She said that she didn't want to see me miss out on what I really want to do in life. She too had been heavy (abour 175 after pregnancy), and dropped her weight down to the 110's by using the Rotation Diet and exercise. When she urged me to just try it, I quickly responded that I'll try another diet that I had purchased in January of 2002 (the 6WBM). It was so hard to commit to it back then because I was living off-campus, had 2 jobs and was trying to finish school. Now that I had graduated, and was job searching, I had the time to start retraining my eating habits.
So, I started it the next day......
Round 1: lost 16lbs
LL interim: lost 2 lbs
Round 2: lost 10lbs
The story continues.........
My thoughts/analogies:
Think of it this way - you are investing in yourself. When you invest, you need to research, plan and organize, and diversify. You are your best investment, and you deserve the best strategy to succeed!
Once you remove fear, your dreams can come true.
