As with most people on the 6WBMO I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. Ok, maybe not that long. I was a skinny kid in grade school and at one time in high school after using diet pills to loose weight I was at 138. Since then it has been a steady gain, with occasional losses on the ever-present diet. I have tried virtually everything. I even had everything in place for gastric bypass except my insurance company's approval. They turned me down, I appealed, they turned me down again. I appealed again and was turned down because it wasn't medically necessary. That was in 2006. After that I decided I could no longer be obsessed with losing weight because it was never going to happen. I was never going to loose over 200 pounds. I heard stories of people loosing 100 pounds, but never 200 or more without surgery. My weight has fluctuated about 20 pounds in those two years but my health and general well being has deteriorated dramatically. Walking to my car from my apartment or from my office to the parking garage leaves me gasping for air. I can't shop with my daughters without having to stop every five minutes to sit down because of constant back pain or because I am out of breath. I knew I couldn't live like that much longer. I saw the infomercial for the 6WBMO just after thanksgiving and saw the guy from Phoenix who had lost 220 pounds, that piqued my interest and gave me hope. I watched the whole thing and decided it was now or never, so I ordered it. I knew the kit would arrive before Christmas, but I also knew I would want to read everything before I started and prepare myself and my house for the lifestyle change. I started the program on January 7, 2008.
